Big Case

I bought the case to fit the Asus Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI a ssi-eeb workstation MB There are very few vertical cases available for that form factor. Building in the case was pretty easy due to the huge space. Lots of available drive mounting points. very flexible fan and radiator options. Cable management was good especially for smaller motherboards

Fantastic case - easy to set up and SOOO much room!

Would recommend this case in a heart beat. Love it and love the ease of use and flexibility it offers. Very quiet fans and room for everything you could imagine in a build. It looks very nice as well. The Glass side is a great look.

Great case with plenty of expandability and airflow. Only a few small weaknesses

I have an old Deep Silence 6 case that has served me well for many years. The problem is as I have added drives and higher powered CPU the it becomes less silent as I need to ramp all the fans up to over come the enclosure. I recently moved my workstation to a Meshify 2 and decided the Meshify 2XL would be perfect as it has tons of space for fans and HDDs and SSDs. I got everything migrated and spent some time cleaning up the cable management as best as possible, but with 11 HDDs and 6 SSDs and 9 fans that is not easy. Everything went well and now I run 120mm fans at 1000 rpms and lowered my heat sink fans form 1500 to 1200rpm. Because I have 4 x 120mm Noctua Redux fans down the front blowing across the HDDS the first thing I noticed is the HDD temps are down ... MoreI have an old Deep Silence 6 case that has served me well for many years. Because I have 4 x 120mm Noctua Redux fans down the front blowing across the HDDS the first thing I noticed is the HDD temps are down dramatically. Even though my old case had 4 x 140mm fans pushing across and pulling out air across the HDDs the drive case was tight and the air flow across the drives was somewhat restricted. I have WD Gold 8TB drives that used to run between 34-37C and now they are 25C. I have 4 x 120mm Noctua Redux fans across the top as well as a 140mm Noctua Redux on the back. My HSF is Noctua U14S with 2 x 140mm Redux NF-P14r and now I run them at 1200rpm and with 8 VMs running mostly idle the CPU temps on my Ryzen 9 3900X are 30-33C or about a 11-12V delta over ambient. With all cores stress tested at 4.05GHz temps of CPU get to around 73-74C or around 52C over ambient. Very respectable and well within thermal limits and nothing to worry about. My Gigabyte board has external temp sensors so I run one on the CPU input an one on the output and at max the HSF is exhausting air about 5-6C over the input temps. They need to look at their screw tightening and tooling as all the storage bays the screws have tough time threading and feel like they are cross threading. They also do not thread much so if they develop an issue it will cost the bay. I did screw each in from the back as well as they just seem too flimsy. I don't like the way the HDDs mount to the trays, they seem too loose and am not sure it will dampen or make the vibrations worse for the HDDs. To earn 5 stars they need to improve the storage trays threading and overall rigidity of the storage layout mode, but considering how versatile the case is this may not be possible. I love this case so much I have a second on order to swap my smaller server out to. Update 2021-01-13 Just got my second Meshify 2 XL. I really like these cases. This second dad seems to be slightly lower assembly quality. The front door is a weak design, it seems like if you remove the front door to get at the mesh filter the second case seems malformed in that it is difficult to get back on. My fear is a few times and this plastic may break. I love the design, but the need to remove the door to get at the filter is weak design. The entire front plastic bezel and door on this second case just seems off, but hopefully once I finish my build I won’t need to open the door often or remove the front bezel.

Great large case
2 February 2022

Never seen a more adaptable case. Airflow is great. Using as a fileserver starting with 8HDDs and 1 SSD. Room to double that capacity. The space is prime for the creative MacGyver types to add an assortment of fans and water cooling devices all over the place. Very happy so far. -1 egg because no version with a metal side panel. Yes Fractal, it is that important to some of us.

Massive case. You could move someone in and charge them rent
27 February 2021

I bought this case not for one build, but to continue using the case through builds. Before this, I had a NZXT phantom and it was a really cheap feeling, gimmicky case. This one is like the BMW 5 series of cases. It works really well, and is understated, with no 'hey I'm a gamer' RGB fans and all that jazz on it. There's enough space for me to add a massive amount of drives without a problem.

One of, if not THE best cases

Infinite working space with a D15 as the top is removable and has many inches of slack space, temperatures were at least 11F lower and is also quieter fan wise (at the cost of hdds being louder). One of the best cases on the market.CONs:-but it is a bit flimsy, so it's hard to pick up anywhere you want to randomly stick your hands.-Also, the case header screws were apparently not standard - they are very slightly smaller and intercompabile with my old case BUT the Standard Standoff Screws from the old case (which I used) are a bit bigger and one got permastuck, RIP mobo. This is the first case I've ever seen that doesn't use standard standoff screws, and there were NO bold faced warnings anywhere that I saw.-I wish they would offer a steel or aluminum side ... MoreInfinite working space with a D15 as the top is removable and has many inches of slack space, temperatures were at least 11F lower and is also quieter fan wise (at the cost of hdds being louder). Pretty great product!

Having purchased the XL edition for an EE-ATX workstation board I did have to modify the motherboard tray in order for the board to not make contact with case metal on the right edge of the board. Took about an hour to do and required pulling back some folded metal to make room. Final edge turned out fine, but case was not painted under the fold and requires painting. My case also came with two small nicks in the glass which are not super noticeable most of the time, but can be seen in some light. Shipping box was perfect so I assume it happened during packaging or manufacturing. Overall though this is a pretty beefy and awesome case. Even with water cooling up top, there is plenty of room for hard drives below in the power supply tunnel. The swing open front panel makes it super easy to clean any pet fur that collects on the mesh, or for when you want to go full bore and remove any possible air restrictions.

Solid PC Case

Overall I'm satisfied this was a case i purchased and my choice was between this model or the aluminum one with a solid front. I chose this one for the aerodynamics of the air. I want my system to continue to breath and sacrificed a bit of style points for it. Not to say this tower doesn't look nice all in all it's a pretty tower and feels super sturdy. This thing weighs !. The power light is chill and not overly in your face and the only thing that i can nitpick is maybe the power button itself. It could of been a better Clicky switch on the top. It's kind of indented. Other then that i don't use the top accessories but they do work. I know the cables from the top IO ports to the MOBO felt a bit difficult to route around nicely because they felt a bit short but i ... MoreOverall I'm satisfied this was a case i purchased and my choice was between this model or the aluminum one with a solid front. Very large case. (XL, infact) with great thermals.
1 December 2022

Not sure why I didn't think an XL case would be really big, but it is. It's XL, just like the tin says. Saying that, I put a Corsair H170i Elite LCD across the top, left the 3 front 140mm fans as intake and added a rear 120mm to augment the 3x 140mm exhaust through the radiator. The internal temps of the case are low, not much higher than ambient, infact. The case is great. Temps are good. Airflow is really good. Building in the case was a dream, so much space to work with.I only bought it because I needed a beefy cooler for the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, saw the 420mm H170i and this case just seemed like the perfect fit. Not disappointed at all.

Wonderful overall, but questionable for lots of drives

I absolutely love this case. It's a pleasure to work in and checks a lot of boxes. However, several times during the build I definitely thought to myself "this is why I prefer drive shelves." For the premium I spent on the case, the extra drive trays, the SAS expander card and all the necessary cables, etc., I could have easily bought e.g. a lightly-used Dell PowerVault MD1200 or Lenovo ThinkServer SA120—or two!—and achieved a much higher "quality of life" for swapping out failed drives, expanding storage capacity, etc. (It's hard to imagine this changing unless Fractal Design comes out with a compatible SAS/SATA backplane with hot-swappable drive caddies for the storage compartment. As far as I know, nothing like this is available or even in development.) Still, if ... MoreI absolutely love this case. It's a pleasure to work in and checks a lot of boxes. Still, if you require an enclosure that supports large motherboard form factors and lots of liquid cooling and storage options, this is a great choice. Just be prepared for downtime (and frustration) when it comes time to swap out a drive.
