Keep a cool head with the Venturi HF-14 140 mm fan from Fractal Design. This 140 mm fan is designed for quiet cooling of components, delivering an airflow of 118.2 CFM at a speed of 1200 RPM. Thanks to its fluid dynamic bearing design, this fan has a lifespan of 150,000 hours. The aerodynamic design also ensures a maximum noise level of 26.5 dBA. In addition to the mounting hardware, the Fractal HF-14 140 mm fan comes with a low-speed adapter cable that utilizes the fan's 3-pin connector to produce less noise at lower fan speeds and airflow.

Best Fan I have encountered for my purposes. BIG CFM, quiet, and converts to 120mm as well

This fan really does move a lot of air, and quietly. I just read a 1-star review stating that this fan barely moves any air, and that the reviewer is going back to "Corsair". ...what kind of smoke...? I came from Corsair. The Fractal fans are top quality, and move noticeably more air than the Corsair's I came from. I have custom-built seven 6-GPU rigs, The last five I have enclosed in large Corsair cases "designed" to move air. The last two rigs, I decided to replace the stock Corsairs with the highest volume (CFM), reasonably priced and reasonably quiet 140mm's I could find. These Fractals were they, and they deliver. My best guess is that he plugged up the included RPM-dampener cables, which take down the RPM from Fractal's stock RPM. Just don't use the included RPM dampener cable if you really want air. They even convert to 120mm fans (at least the mount holes do. They include another interchangeable set of mounts). WAYYY COOL. I just wish the price hadn't jumped 15% since last month. Back then there value was CLEAR. I now can only purchase 4 for the previous price of 5. They are still a value and they are great fans. And every company that offers quality solutions should make SOMETHING from them. (But I really liked the previous price!!)

Great 140-mm (or 120mm) Case Fans

I actually bought two of these computer case fans and they perform great...they move a lot of air, mostly quietly, have the fluid thing-a-ma-bob bearings for long life and are usable as either for 120mm or 140mm with provided adapters. They have an adapter to lower the speed/noise, if needed, which I imagine is an inline resistance. So far, great products and I've ordered two more Fractal fans for my grand-kids computer. Y'all have a great day. Roll tide. God bless.

I bought these to replace two Arctic F140 Bionix fans I had as intake fans in the front of my Fractal Design Define R6. I have a black/white themed build, which leaves me with very few choices when it comes to fans. So I was excited to see they decided to start making the Venturi lineup of fans in Black and White as well. The Arctic fans were cheaper and certainly felt cheaper in terms of build quality, but they were also louder (motor noise? Blade noise? I don't know, the hum at almost every RPM was annoying). They also felt like they moved a fair amount more air. Arctic rates their F140 Bionix fans at 104 CFM at 1800 RPM, Fractal rates these HF-14s at 118 CFM at 1200 RPM. I just don't see how that's possible. I don't have the tools to measure these properly, so I'm just going off of feel. Perhaps the Fractals move more air in a non-restrictive application. Anyway, they move plenty of air to let the rest of my rig breathe without making any annoying humming noises. I did notice, however, that opening the front door of my case lets these spin at almost 100 RPM faster when at maximum voltage, so I guess either my case is a bit too restrictive and/or these fans just don't make enough pressure to achieve the approximately 1290 RPM I was seeing with the door open. Keep that in mind; these will best serve as case fans, not radiator fans or any other high-restriction application. I'd give these a 4.5/5 Eggs. 4 Eggs is a good, even a great product. 3 is okay, 2 is bad, 1 is awful. When my expectations are exceeded, the product then, in my opinion, becomes worthy of 4+ Eggs. These fans are well built and perform great. I owned Fractal Design Venturi HP-12 fans for my 240 AIO last year and I was less than impressed with their sound profile (groaning / clicking noises at higher RPMs). So I had my doubts about these fans being much different, but decided to pull the trigger anyway and I'm glad I did. The market is already saturated with a lot of great fans from other brands. If these were priced just a bit more competitively, I think they'd be recommended a lot more often.

I could inflate an air bed with this

Like nearly all case fans, the exhaust air "funnel" from this fan is quite wide (just about one foot in diameter six inches from the back of the fan), so if you need a more concentrated stream of air for your case, you'll need to make a fan shroud. Take an old 140mm fan (preferably a thin fan used in certain CPU air coolers) and saw off the plastic spokes holding the fan motor in place. Sandpaper the inside of the ring to smooth out the edges and zip-tie the shroud to the back of the fan via the mounting holes. The end result should redirect the air flow from the exhaust of this fan into a much narrower cone while retaining the same ridiculous CFM. A thin strip of cardboard would also work, although it's more prone to falling off or vibrating over time. Moves air!
30 April 2020

These fans are great for intake. I run mine without the low speed adapter, but thankfully my motherboard can control the fan speed. These fans at 100% can be a bit loud but still quieter than a PS4 Pro. The amount of air they move compared to the fans I replaced is insane. Running at 100% my CPU idle temps dropped 5C.

Not what I was expecting
26 June 2020

I have a Fractal Meshify C case that only came with 2 120mm fans. So of course I wanted more fans to help the air flow. And unfortunately I am a big fan of keeping everything the same manufacturer. So I saw these, reviews were great. Anyone saying these are quiet are just lying. In my ASRock Bios, anything above Silent mode is kind of annoying. Of course it isn’t as loud as my CPU or GPU fans when under load, but quiet is quiet, and these are not. Also when at lower rpms, the air movement is only on the outside of the fan. So when I had my side panel off and I put my hand behind them, I only felt air movement on the outer rim of the fans. Def would go with a different case fan if I had the choice again.

This fan doesn't seam to have a direction.
2 November 2018

I decided not to use this fan and it is too much trouble to return it. I basically had to destroy the box that the fan came in do to the rubber corners. The large rubber corners inhibited me from removing the fan from the box without tearing the box. Will I buy another one? No, I don't think I will purchase this fan again. To be honest I cannot think of a good use for a fan that doesn't blow the air in a single direction. I have been building computers for over 20 years now and I cannot ever remember using a fan that doesn't blow air in a single direction. Like I said, this fan has no direction.

Well done again, Fractal
6 June 2015

Fractal has now impressed me with their Define R5 case, new Venturi High Pressure fans, and now the new Venturi High Flow fans. After replacing my Corsair H100i radiator fans with Fractal's Venturi High Pressure fans (see my review of the Fractal Design Venturi HP-12) and being very pleased, I grabbed a Venturi High Flow 140 mm (HF-14) to replace the stock Fractal Design Define R5 140 mm white GP-14 exhaust case fan. I'm just as pleased with the HF-14 as I am with the HP-12. These high flow fans move a LOT of air at relatively low RPM and they do it very quietly, especially with the included "low noise adapter" which reduces the minimum fan speed by about 100 rpm (hooked up to my ASUS SABERTOOTH X99) from ~950 rpm to ~850 rpm. I can't even hear it unless I put my head up to the case. When it speeds up, I can certainly hear it moving those vast amounts of air, but the fan's sound is minimal and very tolerable. The loudest thing is the air itself flowing through the vents! I also love that they're black. They look awesome and feel very solid. The rubber mounts are nice. I had no issues with the mounting screws. Don't over-tighten and they'll be fine. Did I mention the ridiculous amounts of air this thing moves? The cable is an acceptable length, but I would have trouble if I attempted to plug the case's top fans into the fan controllers at the bottom of my motherboard. It would be nice if they were just a little bit longer.. just long enough to be able to mount a fan in one corner of a mid tower and be able to plug it into a fan controller in the furthest opposite corner. The only other complaint/desire I have is that these fans be upgraded to 4-pin PWM like the Venturi High Pressure fans. If they were 4-pin PWM, they'd be able to take full advantage of all the awesome new motherboards with tons of 4-pin fan connectors. Other than that, well done again Fractal! If a 4-pin version comes out, I'll definitely be grabbing it.

I would very much recommend these fans. High amount of air being pushed out. Doesn't have any RGB I am not really an RGB fan anymore. Ever since I bought a fractal case and noticed how silent their fans are I have been a fan. If you are looking for High CFM and low Dba look no further. This is it.

best fan I've ever used
5 November 2018

i don't write many reviews, but these fans are awesome. when i was finishing assembly on my system, my finger got stuck in the lower front fan and broke a blade off. it was going to be a minor pain to access and i didn't have a replacement, so i left it in place. even with a missing blade, the fan doesn't make noise, the rubber corners dampen all of the vibration, and it still moves plenty of air (can tell by the dust pattern on the intake filter in front of the fan). that was over two years ago, and it's still there.
