Freixenet Prosecco 750ml

(181 reviews)

For more than 150 years, Frexinet have been building their knowledge and experience of making truly delicious fizz. They really are experts, renowned for their delicious Cavas. And now they’ve taken their expertise north to Italy with their first Prosecco. They’ve pulled out all the stops, using the very best Glera grapes from the Prosecco hills of the Veneto. Gently fruity and citrussy – it’s textbook Prosecco; a real crowd-pleaser. Apple. Grapefruit. Blossom. It’s lovely and aromatic, with a real freshness and a light, frothy fizz. Not to mention, the pretty cut-glass bottle adds to any party atmosphere. It’s an ideal as an aperitif – or alongside passionfruit cheesecake.

Purchased this in the Smartpass sale. Hadnt tried it before but for the price I thought Id give it a try. The bottle is a beautiful design, almost too nice to open. The wine is slightly dry but also with a bit of sweetness to it which I really enjoyed. Sometimes sparkling Italian wines can be a bit too dry for my taste but I really enjoyed this. Glad I bought two bottles as I will serve the other one to friends at a dinner party.

This is now added to my own personal favourite list! It's light in fruitiness, not too sweet, not too dry. For me... Ice cold it's perfect, any time of year!

Bought as a gift.

I was bought this for christmas by a family member and i put off opening it for afew months as i dont really like cava, or atleast not the ones i have tried before. I finally opened it this month because i ran out of gin and thought 'well if i dont like it, i wont be missing out.' Well i was really, pleasantly surprised because it was lovely. Im planning on buying a bottle in summer to drink out in the back garden with my husband. Its got a real fruity taste and is quite similar to blossom hill but goes down smoother. I was expecting the tang from the white wines you get from cavas but there was none. Definitely recommend if you like rose wine. This wasnt the bottle mine came, mine was smooth but this bottle looks beautiful and itll be a shame to throw it away ... MoreI was bought this for christmas by a family member and i put off opening it for afew months as i dont really like cava, or atleast not the ones i have tried before. Love these little bottles!
1 December 2022

Love this prosecco. I know it’s more expensive but it doesn’t give you heartburn like some cheaper brands. I buy these little bottles as gifts, added a candle and some chocolates for teacher presents or I add one to my friends gifts. One bottle is enough for one glass.

Lovely fizz
27 January 2022

Perfect size when I want just one glass of fizz. Price is reasonable too given small bottles are usually pricier than their bottle equivalent on a price/size ratio. This is an enjoyable prosecco.

Nice wine, thats it.

This is lovely bubbly bottle of wine. However if you care about packaging then this will be painful. One on looking at this would think that there is a cork underneath the foil, but once you remove the foil and then the plastic cover, you then get to the screw off cap. Too much wasteful packaging, which may be why this costs more.

Subtle Rose, Nice Sparkling
30 June 2021

A nice sparkling with delicate and subtle typical rose flavour notes. Certainly on the drier spectrum of sparkling rose but a fairly crisp finish. Better enjoyed accompanied with a meal.

Vile

Purchased this as I thought would be a nice wine ,unfortunately on opening which was hard to do ,I took a sip and spat it out disgusting. Tasted vile bubbly as expected but taste was not sweet just sour nd definitely not moorish, such a shame beautiful bottle but not a nice drink .

Vinegar
13 August 2019

I bought this on the result of the other reviews but OMG my view cannot be more different sadly. Yes I agree beautiful bottle but how this can be described as Italians finest.....? My hubby and I sat down to eat our meal and looking forward to this, but sorry Ocado we couldnt drink this bar the first few sips. It tasted like vinegar and really bitter, so all I can think was perhaps our bottle had gone off. Certainly not worth anywhere near ?12 we paid for it and even worse we then poured it away. What a sad waste!
