I bought the dark grey about a year ago I’d say maybe 5/6 months later it’s just horrible. I love the pull out bed part it’s nice for movie nights. I thought the sofa would soften up but it didn’t it’s still firm a year later. Isn’t comfortable to use daily. God forbid you get a stain on this fabric, it is so hard to get the stains out this thing that you just have to live with the stains. I paid $700 for this couch and I wish I would’ve just bought elsewhere. If this is gonna be used temporarily it might do the job but to use for a small family I’d say invest in something else. I wish ikea had covers for this type of sofa that way I can at least disguise the stains that just won’t come out. Also the dark grey is definitely not dark grey. Firstly, there are no predrilled holes to indicate placement of the hooks under the sofa for the pull out portion. I didn’t know but after sleeping on this couch for over one year and falling off one side of the bed all the time. I was using the 3 couch pillows as part of the bed surface when I pull out the lower half of the couch to make a bed. And of course the 3 couch pillows always moved around. I found out that the pull out bed portion has two pull tags that enable the brackets inside the bed portion to level the bed the same level as the storage portion of the gouache. So once you pull on those 2 tabs, it will slide the top portion of the bed up to same level- to take it up and swing it so that it becomes rock hard on that portion of the slide out bed. As for the upholstery issue: you don't notice the issues so much when looking at it as much as when touching it.Ease of Assembly: if you want to build this it is not hard. Luckily in assembling this item you can put the chaise side on either side of the sofa. My teenager built it on their own with no help other than using the DYI instructions of David Zhang on YouTube. You may find his review of the Friheten helpful as well.Does the product work as expected? Essentially yes. The chaise opens and stays open to store bedding. However, the measurements of the opened sleeping area are approximately 55+ x 80+ (measured in inches). This makes it too wide for Ikea double sheets and too narrow for Ikea queen sheets. In addition, to maintain the upholstery and to provide a good night's sleep one would want a properly fitting mattress pad for under your sheet -- and you would need to create a custom size for this one. Ikea should definitely provide a foldable mattress pad that is the perfect size for this sofa bed and perhaps include it with the purchase. As for fitted heets not fitting properly, this provides a good time to learn how to make a bed with flat sheets! LOL. Finally: don't make a mistake and put your head where the arm of the chaise is! That will provide an uncomfortable piece of frame right under your ribs! Rather your head goes on the armless side (seems counter intuitive because you might want to use the arm as a headboard, but be forewarned).

The leg opposite of the chaise doesn't have enough screws keeping it in place so it slides out at the bottom at an angle. Because it slides out at the bottom, the pop up structure doesn't stay hooked into place and slides out.Even when successfully locked in place, the pop up structure is too far away from the rest of the sofa. This is not comfortable to sleep on.
