I bought the Frogg Toggs Bull Frogg Signature Rain Jacket because I needed something rain proof and wind resistant for a Spring trip to a cold, wet, windy Montreal. I was immediately taken by the light weight of the jacket (a veritable feather compared to my usual jacket) and its ability to be folded neatly and ‘compressed’ to fit into a well-stuffed backpack. I was skeptical about how warm it would keep me, so I bought a XXL to give me room to wear a sweater underneath, if necessary. I never used the sweater; the jacket was all I needed despite temperatures in the 30s and strong winds. As my title says, “unexpected delight with performance.”

I bought this in May 2018 and was happy with it for about one year. After that, the outer material was pilling badly. After another couple of years, the lining wore thin and had holes. It wasn't an expensive rain jacket, but it didn't last long.

For under $30.00, I wasn't expecting much....maybe a single use item. This item exceeded all my expectations, and then some. It's a bit stiff at first, but the material does loosen up over time. When they say waterproof and breathable , they mean it. I was in constant heavy rain for three long days....this jacket performed as well as or better than my goretex. Not one drop of water got through and I was totally comfortable because the material does breath. Very durable as well. I purchased this so I wouldn't risk damaging my expensive rain gear....now, this is my favorite. My only regret is that I didn't buy the pants when I had the chance......

I purchased two of these, one for myself and one for my wife, for a jet boat trip out of Grants Pass Oregon. These jackets are very light weight and completely waterproof, yet breathable. The jackets performed perfectly with no leaks. They were not "too warm" in mild weather, and if purchased with layering in mind, are the perfect windproof, water proof shell jacket. The hood rolls away to be packed in the collar if not needed.They worked so well, the guide wanted to know what they were and where we got them.After the trip, my wife's jacket ended up in my hunting pack for emergencies.For $34.99, they were a great price for a great product.
Nice rain jacket to keep you dry that’s not too heavy. In colder months dress in layers underneath as it’s not insulated but it will keep you dry. It will make you sweat in warm weather if it’s all zipped up. It does have hand pockets unlike the cheaper frogg togg jacket. Only knock is the hoody. It doesn’t roll up and there’s no stowaway pouch to keep it from blocking your peripheral vision on the side when fishing on a boat. You are constantly pulling it aside even when it’s off your head just to see around you. The whole jacket is kinda starchy’ when it’s new.
None of it breaths; just a sales pitch. You sweat in ALL of them. You just have to face that fact. FroggToggs are made of thin sheets polyethelene, a form of plastic. Plastic does breathe, no matter how many times they tell you that it does. The only thing that will help the assured sweating is liner of some type of netting that holds the material away from your skin/clothing (an air-pocket, if you will). Other than that, FroggToggs are a fine product for the price. And, they will keep the rain off/out. You just have to expect the assured sweating.
Bought as another Lightweight Rain Jacket.Have worn it less than a Month and have been in some Hard rain walking around.Got the next size (Large) to allow for Air circulation,and allows me to have more layers under the coat in event of Drop in temperature. Enjoy that the Hood can be rolled up for a better collar.

It's not like any other rain jacket material out there. It's not a soft relaxed material. It's a more of a stiff paper like material, and the arms are very puffy and large. It takes some getting used to. I tried this company's jacket because in the past 10 years I have bought waterproof rain jackets from Cabela's and LL Bean, and after being in the back seat of my car for 4- 5 years the inside lining would fall apart, as if it were some cheap thin vinyl. These jackets were rarely worn, and only the one from Cabelas was washed once. The one from Cabelas disintegrated so bad in the ... I keep these jackets in the back seat of my car just in case it rains, and my car is very rarely left out in the sun. Even though my car is garaged most of the time, in Florida, it is hot most of the time, and in an unairconditioned garage, it is typically 85 - 90 degrees most of the time. I suspect the heat is killing the inside linings of these jackets. That's why I'm done with Cabelas and LL Bean, who refused to compensate me in any way for their defective jackets. The lining on this jacket seems different, more like a cloth than vinyl, so time will tell if it will last.

In case I didn't write a review for this, here goes: Unlike others, who might have had issues with this; depends on what you expect for the money. I was happy with it. It fits fine, the wicking is helpful, and it's light enough for most rain [heavy storms excepted], and it was at a decent cost. So, no issues with me.
