I've read mixed review regarding that film, but for me it's a MUST to have a roll or two if you're going on a street photography sesh. It's fairly priced at the moment (9$), and what comes out of it is greatly balanced in terms of colors, grain and saturation. The grain may be a bit more harsh than the KODAK portra 400, but does not feel invasive or messy, I actualy fell in love with it. Maybe it's a film that likes to be overexposed by half of a stop or one full stop tho, the darker the tones, the more saturated the colors are.

I enjoy the flexibility of using the 400 speed Fujifilm. It allows me to capture photos in a variety of light conditions and captures color beautifully.

Fuji's Superia X-TRA 400 is wonderful color negative film with a lovely grain structure to it. The colors are very even with no obvious bias towards any one color. I highly recommend Superia X-TRA 400 to anyone who wants more speed or depth of field in their color photography.

I have only shot on one roll but it came out really vibrant! It was hard to see a difference between a 200 ISO like in Kodak Gold, but I had shot a few at night and it came out nice! It's capable of pretty diverse lighting, but of course an ISO like 800 and above would offer better results at night.
This roll is perfect for greens and outdoor pictures. The bright colors are exquisite and overall I give it 4 stars. The only negative is it’s not the best for indoor pictures even while using flash it seems to come out a bit dark. Still, not bad for $11!
A worthy successor to Superia (RIP). Looks much like a 400 version of Fuji 200 - punchy but realistic colors, nice contrast, fairly fine grain, and can make even harsh lit scenes look nice in a way even digital can't.
The folks at Reformed are always super helpful! Quality of products is incredible and they are always well stocked:)
I have been an amateur photographer for 2 years now, and I have compare this film quality to Kodak portra 400, The results are fairly similar. Price and availability is much better with the Fuji. Great film highly recommend it!
I knew going in that this was just a rebranded Kodak film. Speculation on the internet pointed to UltraMax and I do get strong UltraMax vibes from this film but comparing the spectral sensitivity curves for both would suggest otherwise. Either way, I'm just not a fan of this film. Like Ultramax, Fuji 400 has over saturated and unrealistic colors, low sharpness, and an ugly, intrusive, and messy grain structure. I took a slew of shots of my black eyed susans and the gold color turned out somewhat greenish that I wasn't able to correct it in post. Conversely, the greens came out somewhat yellowish. The shot of the ivy in particular is a good example of this. the lighter green leaves at the bottom are a bit yellow-green and overall too saturated. The ivy was not that ... The shot of the ivy in particular is a good example of this. the lighter green leaves at the bottom are a bit yellow-green and overall too saturated. The ivy was not that green in real life. Viewed here, the photos don't look bad as far as grain is concerned but viewed full screen it shows a messy grain that has lots of color noise. It would also be apparent just how unsharp this film is as well. If you're lucky you can nail a few shots and they come out looking decent but the large majority of my roll was a waste. I'm likely done shooting color negative film for now. Kodak's more affordable offerings, with the exception of Gold 200, are poor quality and they're just too expensive to be this bad. I have two more rolls of this stuff and I don't even want to shoot it. I'm not wasting $20 anymore on film and development for five decent shots. I'll stick to B&W where there are many better choices for film at more affordable prices and with more reliable and predictable results.
