The X100T does not accept a normal filter for 2 reasons: 1. The lens thread is a female 49 mm thread instead of a male 49 mm thread. 2. A filter screwed on backwards would not have the necessary clearance for the moving elements of the lens. The AR-X100 Adapter rings fixes these problems. When you purchase the camera, you don't think about how to protect the nice lens; but in order to prevent scratches, you need a UV filter; but, you have to purchase this small adapter ring for $50 in order to attach the filter; and the fuji filter also costs about $50. In addition, the battery life on this camera is subpar, so you will need an additional battery and charger. In the end, you will spend an additional $200 in necessary accessories to practically use the Fujifilm X100V camera.

YOU NEED THIS EVEN IF YOU BUY THE OFFICIAL PROTECTOR FILTER!Performs as expected, threads are smooth and reliable, does what it says on the tin, looks the part, etc. What more can I say? It's an adapter for standard 49mm filters. A bit ridiculous that it's needed in the first place.It extends mount point of any fiter enough that the act of focusing the lens does not hit the filter.A bit too expensive though.

Well, it's Fujifilm's own adapter ring which is clearly overpriced for what it is. But I suppose ALL companies do this, so I cannot single Fujifilm out in good faith for riding on their brand. So I'm taking 1 star off the rating. However, the item is well built, it is the perfect shade of black and complements my X100V beautifully. If you have the money, go for this against other brands.
Kind of irritating to have to buy this. This filter should be able to mount directly to the lens, as they do with every other camera system I've ever owned. Then to top it all off, your lens cap won't fit afterwards. Kind of a big "screw you" from Fujifilm, if you ask me. I don't like it, but you're forced to use it to "weather seal" your camera.
Bought this adapter ring with the camera as I wanted the weather resistance and ability to add filters. This works exactly as described. The only difficulty I had was removing the original ring that comes with the camera. It was installed so as not to loosen easily and took a lot of effort to get it started. No fault of the adapter ring and once the original ring was off, a no-brainer. I use a push-on, pull-off filter/lens conver as it works ealily and faster than the one supplied.
The product’s build quality and color match for x100 series camera is perfect. Solid build and threads onto the lens smoothly without tread grinding or misalignment. It does what it was made to do well, which is to allow filters and lens hoods to be used on x100 series. The depth profile is shallow so it doesn’t add too much additional bulk to the x100 cameras given their small size is a big selling point. The only thing that could be changed is a lower price. What a tiny piece of metal, it’s price is too high imho
The only thing lacking in my enjoyment of the X100F is being able to use filters for more creative control of my images. This little gadget is a game changer and allows me to expand my usage of my little retro looking machine. I've forsaken my shelf full of dslr's when I'm out running errands and walking the dog in the park, opting to instead carry the Fuji. Just having the ability to add a protective filter makes me fee better about being out and about with my X100. The only tiny little criticism I have is that I can no longer use the cool retro metal lens can as this upgrade makes it no longer possible to use. Ordered this back in February when I ordered my x100vi. Dont have the camera yet, but I have the adaptor and it seems great - I’m sure it will work for its intended purpose.
I cannot remember the last time that I was able to appreciate such a specimen of an adapter ring. This is the finest adapter ring ever created. It’s magnificent, truly. It is perfectly round, not even a hint of oval. It’s metal, but not in a judgmental way - it says I’m strong and perfectly machined but kind enough to lovingly care for my lens. Fuji has just knocked this out of the park - I can’t say enough good things. I cannot wait to get the camera that i purchased this for. Some say it will, in fact, fit the X100VII or IIX or whatever camera I am lucky enough to get. I just hope that my vision holds out long enough so that I can just once look through this incredible adapter ring.
