Fujifilm Digital Camera X100V - Black

I purchased the X100V shortly alter it debuted. I bought here at Adorama. I used the camera bought an instax printer and was for a time a proponent of the product. I never ever thought that the day after the warranty ran out that the screen would begin to yellow. It began on the left side and steadily is creeping across the screen. (See photo attached). While the files are perfectly fine and useable having a camera with a yellow screen that prevents me from doing color balance and developing film simulations is really a loss to my needs. I realize that Fuji had sold so many of these they don't care about this. They can't even keep up. If you think the restock cameras will be good think about the pressure their production team is under. I worked for the Japanese and ... MoreI purchased the X100V shortly alter it debuted. If you think the restock cameras will be good think about the pressure their production team is under. I worked for the Japanese and they want it out the door and don't care about the quality!! I found through internet searches that this is a problem with Fuji cameras. One dealer even went through 15 camera boxes of stock and found all but three had this yellowing issue on the rear screens. I suppose I will just use it as a beater get what I can out of it and move on. No more Fuji for me. Product support is non existent so be careful about this purchase. They will not stand behind the camera in any way. Dan Steinhauer

I’ve been a canon shooter since I started photography and recently after watching videos about this little camera decided to give it a try with the intention of it being a camera that I’ll take with me everywhere, do street photography and travel with it more often.PROS:The image quality is really awesome, much more impressive than I expected from a cropped sensor and to be honest for most purposes it doesn’t fall behind my full frame cameras at all. I love the film simulations and the customization you can do on top of it. The size and weight makes it so easy to just grab and go and take with you anywhere. Built quality is overall good for what it is. The lens is very capable and sharp with no major optical flaws.CONS:Coming from bigger cameras I can’t help ... MoreI’ve been a canon shooter since I started photography and recently after watching videos about this little camera decided to give it a try with the intention of it being a camera that I’ll take with me everywhere, do street photography and travel with it more often.PROS:The image quality is really awesome, much more impressive than I expected from a cropped sensor and to be honest for most purposes it doesn’t fall behind my full frame cameras at all. Built quality is overall good for what it is. The lens is very capable and sharp with no major optical flaws.CONS:Coming from bigger cameras I can’t help but feel this camera a bit like a toy. I’ve seen people praise the LCD screen quality and the EVF, and to be honest that wasn’t my experience. Coming from the canon R and R5, this camera’s LCD screen feels outdated. The colors and resolution aren’t really great and the refresh rate sometimes feels a bit weird to my eye.The worse thing for me might be actually something that other people might like, and it is the shutter. Both the button and the actual shutter. The button feels flimsy and imprecise. The distance between the half press and full press is minimal and hard to tell a lot of times when you’re in a shooting situation. So many times I’ve taken unwanted photos trying to half press the shutter button. On top of the inconvenience the overall feeling of firing the shutter is just not very good or satisfying. The leaf shutter only adds to the “problem” for me because it’s so silent that a lot of times you can’t even hear it and it makes you feel like you didnt take the photo at all. I miss hearing a proper mechanical shutter sound as I take the photo. It might be weird to some but to me these things are part of the experience of photography. These things together to me make it feel a bit like a toy camera. Even though it’s a very convenient camera and it makes me wanna grab it and take it with me, it doesn’t make me shoot with it because to me it doesn’t feel great.I’m probably gonna return it and get the x-pro3. I’ve tested one briefly and it feels a bit more substantial. The shutter is not loud but it sounds good. The shutter button is improved. The overall feeling of the camera is just more like a “real” camera and less of a toy point and shoot.

I took the X100f to Paris over the Summer and found it to be one of the most enjoyable cameras for street and travel photography I've ever used. So I bought the X100V and I use it on news and magazine assignments for my work with the same amount of pleasure I had in Paris.I like limitations; so the one equivalent 35mm lens works for me and it offers what feels like endless options for great images. I've deactivated most of the electronic buttons except one for an auto focus lock and use it mostly like the beautiful manual viewfinder camera it is. The shutter speed dial is perfect and when I see light shift around me a couple stops I can dial it down without looking and be ready for another shot. It's an old technology the shutter speed dial but I find it's still ... MoreI took the X100f to Paris over the Summer and found it to be one of the most enjoyable cameras for street and travel photography I've ever used.
