I want these photos of my family to exist 80+ years from now when the hard drive in the attic is suddenly found to be dead, and the file format isn't supported anymore. I want my adult great grandkids to say wow, There's grandma as a kid, she looks great, she looks just like I did when I was a kid etc. and I know I'm going to get this from Provia.It's not going to make you instagram famous, rather, it will take photos worth looking at.

This is such a great film for any kind of scenic work. If you shoot outdoors you want a bold film with great color rendition, which Velvia gives you in spades. It's not so good for portraits, but you should shoot portraits on Kodak Portra 160 and advertising work on Provia 100F, both of which handle skin tones better. I have only had the chance to scan three of the 25 rolls I bought, but it has excellent grain rendition and high acutance. Transparencies are far easier to scan than negatives, and these are very easy transparencies to scan.

I love the quality of the processed film I get with my Provia color transparency film. The flesh tones are especially good. When my lab makes prints from my film, though, the prints are blotchy, and sometimes show so much magenta that my subjects look sunburned. Does anyone know a good lab who can produce prints to match the quality of the film?

Fuji's Provia always provides the best, most natural color, with some forgiving latitude, but not much. You really need to nail the exposure, for the best results. I make Medium Format 3D images by exposing with a very old Russian made Sputnik Camera with two taking lenses, for making Stereo Slide Pairs, for viewing with special made viewers, rendering the most immersive viewing experience possible in all Photography.
This is for real fans of analog experiences. Remarkable colours and sharpness delivered by this reversal film captured by medium format cameras are well beyond digital viewing even on 8K digital TV screens.
I do a lot of natural habitat and landscape photography. I love the sharpness and true color fidelity of Provia 100F. In some films the color is all hyped up and oversaturated. The sky and vegetation ( grass, leaves and trees ) all look with Provia 100F the way I saw them with my own eyes. Even though the price has gone up Provia 100F is still less expensive than its Kodak competition.
I'm new to medium format but not new to film photography. I shot a roll of Provia 100F in my newly aquired Mamiya RZ67 to see if it worked, more than for anything else. This camera has no light meter. I shot landscapes in various light, guessing on exposure or using a free "meter" app on my phone. In the past, slide film was known for having a narrow exposure latitude, but all 10 of my frames were more than usable after standard developing. A couple were pretty dark, but after scanning, there was plenty of room to adjust for a perfect print. And the colors! Wow! This film produces a beautiful MF transparency.
Provia 100F continues to be a top notch transparency film. It's particularly good when you want good color saturation and fine grain. Transparecy films don't gave wide latitude like print film. However, with that said, it hasn't really been a problem in my shooting situations. Most of my pictures come out nicely exposed. My 120 transparencies look astounding and scan nicely with an Epson flatbed scanner.
It's by far my favorite film stock out. I've used Velvia, E100, Astia, E100VS to name a few and every time I use Provia 100, I get the colors I'm looking for. Almost spot on when it comes to landscape photography. Super fine grain and very versatile. If you want a slide film that gives great color and room to wiggle with exposure then this is it. Give it a try!
Best color film available. A little on the cold side. 81A filter recommended. Very, very fine grain. Superb reciprocity, 2 minutes before any adjustment needed. About 7 stop dynamic range, better than Velvia.
