It's hip to be square with the blush gold instax SQUARE SQ6 from Fujifilm. The first analog camera to accept instax SQUARE film, the SQ6 is a simple and fun instant film camera that produces 2.4 x 2.4" square prints. The camera's sleek and stylish design incorporates a Fujinon 65.75mm f/12.6 lens, which offers a three zone focus design, with a minimum focusing distance of 11.8". A small selfie mirror is built into the front of the lens design for accurately composing self-portraits and a dedicated Selfie Mode can be used to optimize focus and exposure. The camera's design also features an optical viewfinder with a central target spot for accurately composing images. A built-in flash is also featured, for illuminating scenes in low-light, and three colored flash gels—orange, purple, and green—are included for adding a creative wash of color to your subjects. Automatic Exposure Control takes into account ambient lighting conditions to ensure proper exposure settings, a Light/Dark mode lets you apply +/- 2/3-stop of exposure compensation, and a creative Double Exposure mode lets you blend two exposures onto the same frame.

This product is defective. I know it was returned previously, but don’t resell devices if they’re not going to work, just to be returned again. Idk if it was maybe dropped or something during delivery,(box didn’t seem damaged) but it’s definitely defective. I know it was tested because the package that the batteries were in was already opened. As soon as I put in the batteries, all the settings in the back all flashed a few times, simultaneously, then stopped. I turned it on and the front lense didn’t eject. The settings continue to flash, but it will not eject the lense nor do anything. It. Doesn’t. Work.

Awesome Buy!

This was bought as a graduation gift for my sister and she loves it! It takes pretty high quality pictures. The 3 colored flash covers are cool too, not necessarily needed but a fun filter to your pics. Easy to set up and use. The rose gold is gorgeous, fun, and stylish. This would have been a 5 star review if it weren’t for receiving the camera without film. Also thestruggle of finding the SQUARE film was a hassle. Make sure to double check your film says Fujifilm SQUARE! Highly recommend this camera to amateurs or serious camera lovers.

Cute and fun camera

Love this camera! Really easy to use - pick your mode then just point and shoot! Love that it comes with batteries and little colored filters to snap on over the flash. It?s light and it fits in my purse so I can take it with me wherever I go! The pictures come out great too. 10/10 would highly recommend if you want a fun instant camera that prints bigger photos than the Instax mini models.

Didn't work from the start

Bought on sale at Michael's in SF bay area, for $30 less than Amazon. Woo hoo! No film included so I bought some at Target. I put in the batteries and the camera lit up and seemed fine. Except when I put the film pack in it (correctly, with the two yellow lines lined up) and pushed the button to shoot a photo, the camera wouldn't eject the protective card thingy that is in the front of the film pack. I tried several times, but no luck.Pressing the "shoot" button did nothing. And now the film pack (which I had bought at Target, remember) wouldn't come out!Had to go back to the store to get a full refund, as they didn't have another in stock. Clerk said it wasn't the first time they'd had to do a return on that model for the same reason.Luckily the manager also reimbursed me for the Target film pack that was now stuck in the camera (and likely ruined when he had to open the back to inspect the problem). So I wasn't out any money, fortunately, but wasted two hours to make a special trip there and back and back again, and ended up ordering another on Amazon that night. (Will see if *that* one is defective too).

Film impossible to find
16 October 2020

Wish I would have known that the film was out of stock everywhere before buying this camera. I got to shoot the two packs I bought with the camera, and now it’s basically useless. Why is this still being sold for such a huge price if the film isn’t being produced anymore? Kinda feels really wasteful. The photo quality really wasn’t great either. I have the mini and it takes crisper photos than this. Such a huge bummer :(

Great camera!
18 January 2020

I bought this camera in April 2019. I use it quite often And it hasn’t broken. It’s easy to use. The color is very pretty and the material doesn’t feel super cheap. It’s pretty good for group pics. The only thing is that it takes a few uses to know how far off the hole you look through (view finder?? Don’t know what it’s called) is when taking pics. I’ve dropped it once (on my wooded home floor) and the battery cap fell off but did not break or scratch and worked fine. Giving it a five star because the only problem I’ve had with it is the view finder(?) but I feel like that is normal and to be expected for this type of camera.

Only 4 stars because of small image size (2 3/8 x 2 3/8)

Is it reliable? Haven't had it that long. Hopefully. Is it a good value? Yes Does it have good image quality? Well, we're talking about instant film here, ha. I don't think it's as good as Fujifilm FP100C. I will never forgive Fujifilm for discontinuing it. But it's as good or better than anything else on the market. Fuji has made film for over 100 years. Well since Fujifilm discontinued their peel-a-apart instant film (curse you Fujifilm! You just want to sell us new cameras!!) few good choices are left. Impossible film which is crappy film in my opinion. I hear the Polaroid name has been purchased and you can get the new Polaroid film and even a new remake camera. I have an Instax wide camera that I made out of an old Polaroid 110 camera and an Instax wide back made for Belair lomo cameras. I wanted something smaller and simpler to use for carrying around. A larger image size would have made the SQ6 camera bigger. And it's already fairly large, 5x5x2.25 inches. Weight is exactly 1 lb with film in it. Mine works great so far. Its all automatic but you have 3 shooting modes, flash (on or off) Lighten and Darken settings, multiple exposure setting, timer, selfie mirror. If you're not usedto seeing instant film images get ready for low resolution.

So fun! Need to work on my skills
25 February 2021

I love this throwback camera style. The little selfie mirror on the front is a great feature too. The film is easy to load and prints and develops quickly. There's several different settings, but I haven't played with them too much yet. Some of the images I've taken have been blown out or blurry, which is a bit frustrating when they get printed no matter what and each print costs ~$1. That said, it's user error, so I just need to get more practice taking images appropriately. I'm a little bit worried about the camera getting banged around, so I recommend purchasing some sort of case for it as well.

8 June 2018

This Instax Square SQ6 just arrived ten minutes ago. The delivery guy, familiar with cameras and B&H wanted to see what I had bought. I couldn't remember so I opened the box. The camera is huge - be prepared. I almost refused delivery. But, the weird looking (gold - first available) camera capable of making instant prints is going to make a statement to my intended audience, so the size will just reinforce that statement. I think that this falls into the "ugly duckling" category, meaning it will be loved and admired. The monster seems to be a keeper. Perhaps I will write more after having used it. I had to give a rating, so "I love it" means "so far."

out of all the new instant cameras on the market. this is great.
22 January 2021

I own A LOT of instant cameras but this one has to be one of my new favorites. It's simple, light, and for the most part easy to frame the image. The price point is more than fair even if the film is on the pricer side (but it's way more reliable and stable compared to Polaroid). My ONE gripe with the camera is that lighten and darkening the photo can't be used simultaneously with the other modes.Plus, CS was super helpful and kind when I was dealing with ordering issues. The whole experience with buying to receiving it was great.
