If you're an avid digital photographer and you want to take a break and experience something more challenging, try Instant photography. The only think I don't like about it is the waste when it comes to the film. The boxes, the foil and the plastic cartridges. Try to recycle it if you can!

First of all, awesome customer service over at B&H. Fast response and fast shipping! Now this camera! Wow! Amazing product and even more amazing price! I used to own the Instax Mini and it does not compare to the wide film this one has. I used to own an original Polaroid camera as a little girl back in the 90s so this totally brings back memories. Now being able to use it with my own family has been so much fun.My husband and I are still getting a hang of it due to the fact that we don't know when to use the LIGHT or DARK setting but other than that, it's super easy to use. Did I mention for the price it also comes with a strap and a selfie lense? I have zero complaints! We love the "in the moment" feel that every Polaroid captures

I was back and forth between brands for instant cameras, I did a lot of research before purchasing and I have absolutely no doubt I made the right choice with this camera! Exceptional image quality, surprisingly lightweight, and of course you get the instant gratification of a printed image. When I finally settled in on buying a Fujifilm I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with this camera vs the original instax as it's a bit bulkier, but it's so worth it to have the wider image. To be able to capture moments you don't get a chance to relive is priceless. My purchase of this camera and the recommended accessories that were provided as an option with this camera (also highly recommend!) shipped unbelievably fast (next day shipping I didn't pay extra for). Adorable to watch the excitement of my older niece using this camera and proudly show off her images (which everyone was highly impressed with the quality of). Ironically, considering it's an instant camera, using this device really gives you an opportunity to slow down and contemplate the image you're capturing before taking it in the fast paced world we live in where people mindlessly take 100 photos of the same thing on a cell phone without contemplation of how they would like the image to look. This camera was 100% worth the price. If you're hesitatant, don't be. You won't regret it.

Great Camera!
2 May 2021

I'm a semi-professional photographer. I really love the instant film process. No fretting in lightroom over perfection. What you take is what you get and it's refreshing. No sending off film to be developed either. I have a few instant film cameras, but this one is my favorite. I like the large format of the Instax wide film, and the camera is very simple to operate. It's pretty much just a snapshot camera since there are not many creative controls, but the photos come out pretty good. It's probably best for people pictures, but I've taken a few good landscape photographs with mine. I do a lot of sunset photography, but it's not great at that unfortunately, but that has to do with the film, not the camera. Any extremely bright highlights like the sun come out as ... MoreI'm a semi-professional photographer. I really love the instant film process. No fretting in lightroom over perfection. I also made a little cover for the flash out of cardboard and gaffer tape which is good when I want to take pictures through glass. Overall it's pretty good and I highly recommend it.

Poor quality
1 May 2022

I’m not sure if I had a faulty one, but the picture quality was awful - and very dark even when I used the flash. Also, the camera is really big, much bigger than I expected, it looks like a child’s camera. Sadly my first experience with a Polaroid wasn’t a good one, I had high hopes after remembering my parents using one when I was young. I still have these photos, and the quality from as way back as 40 years was better than this. Returned and refunded.

So much fun
7 November 2021

I already had the Instax mini but felt the pictures were too small to capture anything besides a close up of a single person. This camera does not have that problem at all. I bought it to bring to a friend's bachelorette and wedding and wow I LOVE the pictures I've taken with it. Everything from large group photos to action shots on the dance floor look wonderful. And in my opinion, the camera itself isn't that much clunkier than the mini already was. I would highly recommend this camera for capturing genuine moments.

The camera is a good camera, but could use some improvements/updates
3 March 2021

The camera is a bit chunky to my own personal liking, but the advantage with the instax wide format over other previous wide frame formats (e.g Polaroid's spectra film) is the bright vibrant colors of the film that us instant film photographers have not seen since O.G. Polaroid film. The camera does have potential, it is a little bit chunky for my own tastes, there is no timer feature for say inclusion of all subjects, one person has to be the one behind the camera. I would suggest maybe adding zoom & auto-focus in later models as well as a close-up mode rather than a piece that attaches to the front of the camera as it can get easily lost or broken. as well as slim it down some. The camera unlike it's predecessor, the 210, does have a tri-pod mount which is useful ... MoreThe camera is a bit chunky to my own personal liking, but the advantage with the instax wide format over other previous wide frame formats (e.g Polaroid's spectra film) is the bright vibrant colors of the film that us instant film photographers have not seen since O.G. I would also like to add that using 4 AA batterys does add a little more weight to the camera and would like to suggest maybe a rechargeable cell alternative instead.

For a few reasons: The auto exposure is all over the place. I still cannot figure out if there's a spot, center weighted, or matrix metering. Oftentimes in bright conditions the camera will deliver unusable results one exposure and spot on results the next.It doesn't like rechargeable batteries / the fact that putting the batteries in in an incorrect order bricks the camera is a sign of cheap workmanship. Images will have either a magenta or green cast ontop of the normal greyscale. It's frustrating.TLDR: Going back in time and doing it all again, I'd save my money and try the Lomo offering. This thing is a camera wearing a dunce hat and you'll probably throw away a lot of photos.

good camera slightly handicapped by film

When was the last time you set your camera or pushed/pulled a roll of film to ISO 600? Rare to never for me which is why I gotta drop some stars off the camera for the absolutely hit or miss aspect of the color film this thing uses. The ISO 600 film is basically too bright for daylight and too dim for shade. The shadows block up like slide film on crack. The white balance is sometimes green, sometimes blue, but fortunately has delivered believable skin tones (if the exposure is correct, but don't worry if the exposure is wrong you either get a white or black sheet of film, or your 0 zone highlights will turn black). Tricking the flash with an optically slaved strobe is pretty fun and I have found a godox think light at 1/2 power on a sunny day from about 3m away ... MoreWhen was the last time you set your camera or pushed/pulled a roll of film to ISO 600? Buuuuut it's also completely not worked at all too the frame after so, maybe there is a little polaroid black magic associated with all instant film but I definitely don't have the same glowing things to say about the film. The camera is ok. It's cheap plastic that does what it was designed to do. Lens is really flare-y when pointed into a highlight. Nothing really bad to say about the camera - it works.TLDR BUY AS MUCH BLACK AND WHITE FILM FOR THIS AS YOU CAN BECAUSE THATS THE FILM THAT WORKS WELL! COLOR IS PRETTY MEH

horrible instant photography experience
12 July 2022

I've used multiple instant photography cameras in my life and this is by far the most horrible tool i've owned. It made me want to stop instant photography.First of all, there is no best case scenario with this camera. The results seems to be entirely based on luck. You're not suppose to get 6 awful results for 2 acceptable pictures only because you do instant photography. It's totaly unreliable.I've tested the L (light) vs the D (dark) mode at a reasonnable distance (2m or so) and they both give exactly what you do not need. Basicly, the L will light up your subject so bad that you can't see any traits on his face no more, and the D mode will render a completly dark subject where there is no trait to be seen on his face either. So now, you're going to tell me ... MoreI've used multiple instant photography cameras in my life and this is by far the most horrible tool i've owned. The flash works half of the time, regardless of if I turn it off or on (like... what??).Don't even think about shooting if there is a strong light source anywhere in the frame (sky, reflection on water, a bright day...) because no matter what mode you're on, it'll find a way to either make everything too bright or too light.Stick to polaroid.
