The X-S20 is my first FujiFilm body, coming from the Canon M platform. This camera is very professional, despite FujiFilm marketing it as their entry level "vlogger" and "travel" camera. Also those lenses pair better with the higher megapixel sensors of X-T and X-H series, in my opinion.So essentially, I traded in my two Canon M bodies for a single camera with better autofocus, better color options, native USB-C streaming, active software and product support, a much faster app, and far superior video. I am testing 4K 24p and 25p to see if either of those are right for me. Faster frame rates make this camera get hot quickly, and I don't need to shoot at 50p or above for my hobbyist needs. While I waited 2 months for the camera, Sigma in upstate New York changed the mounts of my existing Sigma prime lenses so I could bring them over.The learning curve on this for me is steeper than the Canon M. It seems to have four times the number of settings. It's going to take a while to get comfortable. But I am so thrilled with my switch thus far. This camera goes with me on a long road trip through California and Nevada this fall. But right now, the camera is making me want to go out and shoot away with the Sigma 16mm. Haven't had that feeling since I got the Canon M6 Mk2 in early 2020.

I do real estate photos and videos professionally and I was intrigued for this camera X-S20 for B cam. It doesn’t have two slots for memory cards so I’m afraid to use this for only camera to record videos. Having said that, this camera has a lot to offer:- wonderful focus from eye focus to animal eye focus or airplane etc object focus. This improved so much compared to older Fujifilm models thanks to the new gen 5 processor.- resolution up to 6.2K videos. Ok all I need is 4K to deliver but now I can crop. I have gigs like interviews and this will be very useful.-newer battery giving longer life.- people online talk about this camera overheating but I picked the option of higher temperature and I never had an issue. The X-S20 offers a new processor which provides a much more reliable Auto Focus system, with subject recognition and improved tracking giving a noticeable improvement over the older X-S10 model. For someone moving from an old relic T2i/550D, this is a marvelous jump in image quality, features and tech.I have to admit, coming from a 13 year old camera is going to color my experience a little differently than other situations. For example, is the autofocus up to the level of other brands? Based on the info I've read/watched, no. But I'm experiencing such an insane jump from that 13 year old tech to the X-S20 that it doesn't matter to me.The best thing so far, which of course everyone raves about, is the ability to get good SOOC pictures. Could I tweak things to make them perfect? Sure. But is it nice to be able to download lovely looking JPEGs and just send them off to people without worrying? Overall much better than the outgoing model (X-S10). Autofocus is much more snappier and accurate. Almost feels close to a Sony and or Canon (so far with Fuji native lenses). I did notice that my previous Tokina lens that was faster on the XS10 in autofocus comparatively to the same fuji native lenses, is actually slower on this camera. Will see if updates down the road will address this.Camera does get warm, I do not use it as much for video. I would recommend setting the temps to high once you get it and limit the amount of time for video.Love the Battery Life and Love the Autofocus which is why i bought the camera besides the additional video features with the 6k open gate.hands down a great camera for any level photographer/videographer.

And there are less false-positives with the face tracking; the camera is not seeing faces in the background foliage ;) .To be critical and objective, the AF system is still lagging behind the other big companies (I have used Sony cameras). There is a bit of dialing in the settings to get it working right. But with that said, I still get a lot of keeper shots (i.e., my baby, fast action shots, and insects). Admittedly, I am not doing high burst shots in low light, so take what I am saying with a grain of salt. But for what I am capturing, it is more than acceptable. I have not gotten frustrated with missed shots.The IBIS is good. Coming from a non-IBIS camera, it is definitely a welcomed addition. My f/2 primes are realizing a new potential. And my video work is a lot smoother. Not much to say other than it is good for me. However, I do not do walking/vlogging style videos; I have seen that style of footage and admittedly, it is shaky.The biggest disappointment with this camera is screen resolution, especially with the LCD screen. It is a little difficult to tell if you are in focus if you are not punched in (I use focus peaking). However, other cameras in this price range are similarly spec'd.Overall, when you compare this camera to other APS-C cameras in the same price range, it is really competitive. As an enthusiast and semi-professional, this camera gets the work done and I do not have many complaints.Note: I have read the poor reviews on the LCD screen. I have not had that issue. The product was received and performed at a high standard, as expected.

That being said, I prefer if the Mode dial was just in the menu/LCD options and instead, that dial was for shutter speed or ISO.As someone already mentioned in another review, aside from Vlog mode, the settings are not intuitive and easy to understand, which IMO definitely does not make this camera beginner-friendly. After not holding a camera for that long, I must admit that I'm still exploring the capabilities of this camera via all the different options the settings provide but as of now, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the camera and love the images that have been produced thus far.
I love this camera and I love the Fujifilm system. The battery life is great! Fujifilm is so much fun to shoot with. I took this on a trip to France and Greece and could not be happier with the photos I took. I didn't love the lens that came with it but that's to be expected from kit lenses in general, I think I ended up buying 23mm and 33mm prime lenses and I'm so happy with this purchase. People often complain about Fujifilm's autofocus features but this has not been a problem for me - I think if I were shooting sports or anything else fast moving it might bother me but for my street and casual photography it works very well. I'm an amateur photographer and I think this is a great camera for any amateur or aspiring photographer! Highly recommend!
Be sure to test you cameras with real subjects! I hadn't had much of a chance to test this camera in a real world situation where I typically use this camera. I finally got to yesterday and I know why everyone complains about the autofocus and sharpness (when compared to the Sony). If I could do it all over again, I would have gone with the a6700. This camera had several images that were out of focus even though the green box around the subject was indicating that they were in focus. It was not until I reviewed the image that I noticed they were way out of focus. The image was not usable. This is a common problem reported. The image stabilization, battery life, and colors that this camera produces is much better than Sony. Hands down. Everyone would agree with that, but the autofocus makes it unreliable. I have been at am impasse with Sony before as I wasn't really happy with my old XT3. It needed better battery life and image stabilization and a better grip. This camera seemed to check off all of the boxes but it failed in the autofocus department.Another issues during my graduation photoshoot yesterday was overheating when taking pictures. I was outdoors in directly sunlight in California dry heat, but it was only 80 degrees yesterday. Although my camera was set to max temperature, I received a heat warning on my LCD screen. I was not even recording 4k video. At most I was shooting low burst of 5FPS. The only time I had a camera overheat was when I was shooting 4K for extended periods of time with my Sony a6400. 4K video on most systems is notorious for overheating, but for photo this is unacceptable, especially at 80 degree weather. The beautiful Fuji colors and film simulations are not worth the hassle of this camera. I have full frame Panasonic which also produces very pleasing colors, in addition most things can be done in post processing, although Fuji does make it easy to do within the camera. Either way I am done with Fuji. Unfortunately, I have some brand-new lenses as I was really trying to get into the Fuji system, however it is just unreliable. I've given them enough chances and I'm not looking back. I personally like the FF look anyway. I cannot recommend this camera.
With so much competition for cameras and cameras in this price range, unfortunately, this is a camera that you should not buy. The photo quality is just okay, the auto focus is not there, and a year and two months after buying this camera, the power board broke because of the way I charged it (via usb). The repair was then quoted (from fuji) for $600 dollars. You'd be lucky to get that kind of money second hand if the camera was working perfectly. I will never buy another fuji again due to being let down in a number of ways, camera reliability, and fuji customer service. DO NOT BUY.
