Easy to open and position ready for sharpening. Smooth strokes five or six times brings knife back to original sharpness. Very satisfied with the result to date.
I was given this same knife sharpener several years ago as a gift. It was easy to use and worked well for all my knives. After many years it just wore out. It wasn't easy finding another, but this one, from Australia, is exactly like the original and works as well.
This is a great little gadget, creates and maintains a good edge very easily and has been improved since I bought my first one probably a decade ago. Did the old one wear out? Certainly not, it is still in use at my daughter’s place. Sharp knives are fair safer than blunt ones.As for Harts of Stur, a very good service despite so many carriers claiming to be struggling from the impact of COVID-19.
Ive had one of these for years, so now I have two. I have found them great for getting that cut-without-much-force knife. This is for putting that final sharp edge on a knife. If your knife is really blunt, you will need to use a stone or something else that takes more material off. Once your get your knife fairly sharp, this will give you the edge to cut tomatos without squashing them. Only use two or three strokes each time - the diamond film is not thick - and if you need more than that, go back to your sharpening stone first.

Quick and very easy to use knife sharpener. Clever design means it needs little room to store and is very portable. The sharpener is designed for "western" style knives (20 degree blade), not "eastern" style knives (15 degree blade). My only concern is how long the diamond coating will last, but at this price, that's not a biggie.
