I love this Bass! Fit in and finish are fantastic. The 3 way switch allows me to tweak the tone. This bass plays great, looks great! The short scale is the perfect length. I've had a it a few weeks and I can't stop playing it.Highly recommended.

I bought this bass because I'm seeking to reduce the weight on my left shoulder after decades of playing. I have a Hofner Club that weighs only 5 pounds but it lacks the punch of Fender style basses. I had good experiences with and loved the tone of G & L Tribute L2000 and Tribute L2500 and I liked the tonal variations of this bass available through the mini-toggle. Check out Ed Friedland's video review of both the USA Fallout and Tribute Fallout. In my experience, if Ed says he loves a bass, it's worth buying. That's the case here. The bass arrived overnight -- very fast shipping. Fit and finish are fine. Looks great, very smooth. Candy Apple Red with a maple fretboard are my favorite combination. Sound is great -- better the Squier Mustang I borrowed from a friend last week. Balance is good -- no neck dive. Hardware is first class from bridge to tuners. My only negative is weight -- 8.8 pounds on my scale. That's less than my Sadowsky RV4 but substantially more than the 7 pounds I saw listed elsewhere on the internet. I suppose that weight varies from instrument to instrument, as is common with all basses.I'm not sure a USA model would be lighter. Ed Friedland notes that the bass is heavy in his review, and he is correct. That said, it's a great little bass. With a wider strap, it'll be very workable. But I wish it weighed 7 pounds.

I previously purchased the U.S. version of this bass in tangerine and I loved it; except for the color. The color was more like bright metal flake orange than tangerine metallic and although the bass played great and sounded amazing I returned it. After seeing Ed Friedland (the Bass Whisperer) review both versions on YouTube I decided to try this one. Although it looks kind of plain it plays and sounds almost as good as the U.S. version for half the price. I’d highly recommend it if you want a great sounding, comfortable and easy to play short scale.

I bought this for my son before Christmas and he was blown away! He loves playing this bass! I’m impressed by the quality of construction and my son has been playing it non stop. I’ve been a customer of AMS for several years and they have been my exclusive shop for all of the gear that our four musician household could ever need. Thanks once again American Musical!
Short scale, but this thing's tone is huge! Expertly setup on arrival and a flawless neck!
This is an easy playing short scale bass that has a ridiculously good tone. I was seriously blown away. Ive always liked G&L stuff but they really knocked it out of the park with this one. Im tempted to get a full scale version with the same electronics. I added the competition stripe to make it have a more vintage Mustang vibe.
When I bought my G&L Fullerton Fallout bass, I had several short scale basses. And since that date I have sold many and am now down to just three, Danelctro Long Horn, Fender Mustang American and hands downfavorite G&L Fallout. Excellent craftsmanship, superior sound both with a pick and fingers. This bass is a pure joy to play.
Beautiful shortscale bass guitar with original features designed by Leo. Well set-up and in-tune out of the box. Massive bridge, smooth tuners, easy action, D'addario roundwounds, black dots against a maple neck easy to see, the three-sound humbucker is a tone monster. However the major drawback is its neck-heaviness.I really like this guitar so I think I'm keeping it. I've bought a wide grippy strap which helps, and I'm going to make a counterbalance weight pouch to hang off the bottom strap button. Expensive lightweight tuners will be the last resort.Leo could have extended the top horn to be at least level with the 12th fret, but this would of course affect the guitars visual appeal. Some may say, a triumph of form over function. This is a really nice electric bass. I am fond of short scale bass and the G&L Fallout is no exception. Great range from lows to midrange. If your looking for that high end sound, it doesn't project. But low end is really mellow. I haven't tried flat wounds yet but could be a whole different review.
