Had very high hopes for this Casio G Shock, opening the packaging it looked beautiful. BUT...on closer inspection the bracelet was scratched and looks like it was worn temolition derby. Its a G SHocxk and I was shocked that a bracelet could look that scratched...Guess the watch is shock proof but not the bracelet. I would have thought it reasonable to get a new watch and not someone else wore for at least 30 days. Im completely disgusted and dont plan on paying any of the shipping. Shame on whomever quality checked that watch, I would hate to think it was discounted because of its condition and sold as new.

The screen is almost impossible to read in anything other than direct light, the buttons are so tiny even a child will struggle to press them and you need a degree in computer science to set the correct time, i have no idea how the stopwatch works and i think i set the alarm by accident and cant figure out how to switch it off. Style wise i personally like the look of the dark grey / black, you can get these in a silver or gold which have an easier to see display though in my opinion just don't look as nice. This particular model does not come with a backlight, as such you cannot read it in the dark although i never remember these having a backlight back in the day anyway? To summarise, inits favour its a well built and very retro time piece that does what it says in the ad. Against it the screen is difficult to read in low light and impossible in darkness, the buttons are tiny and for me at least was tricky to set up (though i didn't read the instructions) overall, i would recommend this watch for the memories and not the functionality.

I exchanged the watch with the same after a month due to the band-bar bending showing the metal is soft. The replacement watch kept time for a few months until it reset to January 1 at Midnight every few months. There was moisture under the crystal even though I don't swim with it. I wore it during daily activities like washing dishes, laundry and showering. My previous Casio watches have withstood those activities plus swimming but their bands didn't last the test of time. Watch repairman reported batteries were still good and no visible water damage but the moisture under the crystal remained until I removed back and set it in rice for a few ... I own 1 already in the same gold and black tones. I've had it for about 7 years now. Originally joked about how it was the only gold watch I'd ever be able to afford. After several years of daily wear, it started to wear away a little bit of the gold paint on the corners and edges. Still looks good though. Left it in a drawer for about 3 years and forgot about it. I recently found it again and it's still going and dead accurate. Now it's my work watch. I bought another one to keep nice. I love this basic little watch. Actually has useful and easy to use features as well. Best value watch I've ever owned.

I bought another because I could not find the first, which I located the day after I bought the current model (duh!). The current model does not light up as bright and the alarm does not sound as long, but it keeps time perfectly and looks exactly like the original. After several years the rubber wristband will fracture, but I replaced it with a cheap woven nylon band that lasts for decades. The battery lasts for the promised seven years (be sure someone with experience changes the battery so that they do not injure the alarm -- that happened with my wife's identical watch). I was looking to buy this piece, along with the pink ice cream one, as companion pieces. I was drawn to the coloring of these watches on the website, and marketing images. However when I received them, I would say the real colors are actually heavily muted in comparison. I was disappointed by this. This is my only criticism, albeit a fairly large one, given the images are misleading. The watch itself is what you would expect. Durable, comfortable and the right size. I am a male with 18cm wrist circumference, and as a proper watch enthusiast, I would say this is the perfect size, as the lug to lug length is ideal. The DW5600's are excessively large. All in all happy, but let down by the images on this website. If you buy, I would suggest bracing yourself for very ... Was served by a guy in a pub wearing one of these a few weeks back and as I already owned a GD-350 looked into getting one of these and so went onto the Watchshop site and bought one for £75 with discount code LOVE25 so it seemed good value for money. Was even more impressed when I got it out of the box the next day. Fit and finish is better than my GD-350 and comparable to my GW-9400-1A (positive display). Has a smoother more science fictiony ascetic than the 350 which is more business like and military, even badass, but that's what I was looking for. Nice red lettering and green and red second counter dials on a mid grey face really set it off. Looks about the same diameter as the GW-9400 but is slimmer so should be OK with Natos/zulus etc. It looks more elegant ... Having a few GW tough solar and multiband 6 'shocks I don't consider the lack of these or the basic spec a problem as it's so easy to look after, just put it in a drawer for a few days/weeks and wear it when you want to and the battery should last 10 years if you don't use the backlight illumination. I have a 16cm wrist and the strap does splay out a bit at the lugs. It is noticeable to me but in the mirror and to other people the chunky strap does hide it and it looks fine. Lets face it it's what other people think that really matters. The GD-350 is a snugger fit for a small wrist and oddly enough so is the GW-9400. If you want the solar and multiband the vaguely similar GW-6900 and GW-7900 can be had for the same money but aren't so pretty.
I love the Casio G shock style. Other than being strong and water proof is stylish. Very nice for everyone and for every occasion. I like the fact that it glows in the dark. I love the color blue. The blue and silver is a good combination. I have bought Casio for more than 30 yrs I have never been disappointed. I wish they will build a watch that the Florence stuff will last longer. Or it will never wears out. Overall is a very nice looking watch. I had the one that use to bring a calculator, the other that was a divers watch, the other one that had a countdown. Just like the one in Blue Thunder. All great watches.
