I am a watch collector with everything from watches associated with my phone to many classic automatics. I just buy what I like and always on the lookout for something different have looked at G-Shock in general and this watch in particular. I have never seen this one in the flesh. Just on photographs and it looks as good as the photographs but with one issue. See below. When this watch was delivered I was first struck by the rather basic presentation in a tin box but to be fair I have many very smart watch boxes and they all just take up space anyway. The watch itself was covered in a great many adhesive strips which meant it was well protected but took an age to get off. Then on to setting it up.I am a firm believer in "if all else fails read the instructions" ... MoreI am a watch collector with everything from watches associated with my phone to many classic automatics. The watch itself was covered in a great many adhesive strips which meant it was well protected but took an age to get off. Then on to setting it up.I am a firm believer in "if all else fails read the instructions" and with this watch hit that point very quickly and the instructions were the normal complicated Casio large sheet of very tiny text. Now to a tip. Download the phone app. Then you just need to pair the watch with your phone and read the instructions from there. Once paired with the app it is great but note that the instructions for the first part of pairing is to hold button "B" for st least three seconds. After that repeatedly fails you discover that it takes at least five or six seconds before the little indicator hand you can't see moves to the right place for Bluetooth.Cut to an hour or so later and the watch is up and running. The only problem then is that it looks really good in the pictures and it is a very smart watch on the wrist but in anything other than bright light it is very hard to see the hands. That is the only reason for giving it three stars. If the watch had a more practical colour scheme it would easily be five stars. It looks good and is well made. The case and strap is as good as some of my watches which cost thousands and the extra functions (in watch talk, complications) over telling the time are very good. As a traveller I love being able to pick my destination by clicking on a map in the app and then tell the app to change my watch to the selected time zone. Then watch the hands spin to the required time zone. I have a Casio Red Arrows watch that adjusts to world time but it is such a complicated process to change the time I never use it for travel. This watch will get used as it is far more straightforward.Final point is that the watch comes with a very long bracelet which will fir just about any wrist. It is very easy to remove links but I will leave it to DIYers to check how.

Great watch, love the Bluetooth feature. It doesn't do calls etc but once connected to your phone, you can adjust time etc from the app which is good. The weight and materials are as expected, nothing special but usually durable. Expected more as it was a deadpool edition ie a little engraved logo or any other logo on the watch but it doesn't have any distinguishing features related to deadpool. Usual functions as expected. All round good watch but not a stand out version.

Love my watch, I always like the vintage one but I would say this is one of the best casio watch I have.Love the design, colour, style and of course durability of the watch. It got all the essential features I need and it's so easy to set up. Quite big on my wrist but not an issue for me. Overall I am a very satisfied customer.I wanted to buy the blue version to add to my collection but it’s long been out of stock. Hope Casio is reading this.Highly recommended.

The watch has all the possible features- in addition to all the usuall good g-shock stuff, such as shock and water resistance, stop watch, timer, five alarms- it is solar chargeable, so no need for battery change. In addition, it gets atomic time via Bluetooth link- so there's no need to ever or reset the time. It's allways runs spot on, never mind a time zone change or switching from sommer to winter time. Also, it looks really nice, especially comparing to most other g-shock models, which tend to be fairy chunky time pieces. This on is slick- not too wide in diameter and really slim. The default resin strap can be switched for many alternative straps that are cheap and available. I enjoy wearing it on nato strap or on black plastic bracelet. On the negative side, it should be mentioned that it it notva very ledgeable watch. Especially when in gets dark, as the lume fades away very quickly, and searching for the light button isn't the easiest thing to do, when you wake up in the middle of the night and want to know the time.
This watch compliments my G Shock 5610 as ‘the other beater’ - I’m a fan of these solar G Shock watches which have various methods to set the time accurately, they always tell the proper time and the battery never needs changing so they are very low maintenance. However, I made the mistake of buying my last G Shock with a negative display; it has it’s charms and functional plus points but it’s not the easiest to read at a glance. so I sought to rectify these gripes with this watch. This 2100 is great. Just as comfortable as the 5610, easier to read and just as low maintenance. I love that I can now put the date around the proper way, that the light can be ordered to stay on for longer and that the Bluetooth function makes setting the time and alarms etc very ... MoreThis watch compliments my G Shock 5610 as ‘the other beater’ - I’m a fan of these solar G Shock watches which have various methods to set the time accurately, they always tell the proper time and the battery never needs changing so they are very low maintenance. It’s even more useful if you have other watches you’d rather keep safe from scratches, moisture and bumps.
Yes - I would wholeheartedly recommend the G-Shock Full Metal Tough Solar Bluetooth Black Dial Bracelet Watch GM-B2100D-1AER. I have several automatics from prestigious Swiss manufacturers and I love their looks and their build quality. However, I sometimes think they are like a new car that has been designed to run on coal. I think that Swiss manufacturers are making a big mistake by forsaking their development of electronic technology. It is sometimes refreshing to have a watch that won’t stop if you take it off for 48 hours (although you can put automatics on a winder), is extremely accurate, doesn’t cost £10,000.00+, doesn’t cost £475.00 to service, has WR to 200m, is solar powered and can be controlled from your phone via Bluetooth. Highly recommended 😀
What I will say is that this G-Shock watch is interesting because it is designed in a strongly form-over-function way; it is both visually gutsy and understated in the visual impressions it creates. It is also true that the extensive feature set that goes with a G-Shock watch is somewhat poorly accessible on this watch.I, however, wear a Huawei Band 9 on my right wrist. And that will give me vibrating signals for use in alarms, etc. Yes, I am very happy with the GA-B2100 for its style and fashion aspects; and, yes, the functionality of it is not particularly good. (But so what!)
I am pretty rough on my watches (not intentionally), so I generally stick with the G-Shock brand watches, simply because they can withstand just about anything you throw at them. But they tend to be a bit on the large and bulky side. With a 44mm bezel (vs the standard 50mm or bigger G-Shocks), the 2100 is much smaller and more practical for regular use, and stylish enough to wear when 'dressing up', while maintaining the same rugged design G-Shock is known for. I also like that there are several varieties of the 2100 to choose from depending on your style and taste (I chose the blackout design because I like the stealthy look of them). But if you are one-the-fence about these watches, I suggest going to the store and seeing them in person! Looking at them online, it was difficult to see just how sleek these G-Shocks are, but once I tried them on, I was instantly sold! Definitely not your typical G-Shock. My only issue is the watch band. They seem a little chintzy, but we'll see.
Just purchased this Casio G Shock today and it's fantastic. My local Macys had it in stock like the website said and the transaction was quick and easy. Watch is lightweight, yet rugged as you expect from Casio G Shock. I wore it all day and it felt great. Wears actually smaller than it's dimensions, which is great. The all-black stealth look is really nice. Its only one day, but I expect many years of great service from this Casio just like other Casio's I've owned.
Whilst I really like the colour, look & feel of the watch and it’s many functions - for a watch that costs as much as this retailing at £500 & with a reputation for toughness - I am really disappointed that having just recently started wearing it I quite gently caught the bezel edge on the edge of our kitchen island but it was enough to cause a small chip in the black metal finish.Extremely disappointing as I would have expected the metal finish to be able to withstand much more robust treatment rather than being damaged by such a gentle knock as this.Especially when you consider that these watches are so heavily advertised as being able survive massive drops and knocks.Clearly the watch should be advertised as being just for dress occasions like going out to ... MoreWhilst I really like the colour, look & feel of the watch and it’s many functions - for a watch that costs as much as this retailing at £500 & with a reputation for toughness - I am really disappointed that having just recently started wearing it I quite gently caught the bezel edge on the edge of our kitchen island but it was enough to cause a small chip in the black metal finish.Extremely disappointing as I would have expected the metal finish to be able to withstand much more robust treatment rather than being damaged by such a gentle knock as this.Especially when you consider that these watches are so heavily advertised as being able survive massive drops and knocks.Clearly the watch should be advertised as being just for dress occasions like going out to dinner rather than normal wear at best.I certainly wouldn’t recommend it and won’t be buying another G-Shock - although perhaps the name is accurate as I’ve been SHOCKED at the poor quality of the watch!
