Bought this quad kit to pair with my TUF x299 Mark 1 motherboard (latest BIOS) and i7 7800x, but am disappointed because my PC fails to boot when I set the RAM to run with its XMP profile. I replaced the RAM through Newegg for another identical kit, but the same issues arose. The G.Skill website states this kit is compatible with my motherboard, but this is clearly not the case. I'm now running the RAM at 3000 MHz with the remainder of the settings according to the XMP profile (CAS latency of 16), and I've had no issues since. I caution you to stay away from this RAM if you have a quad memory channel board like mine and expect to run this RAM at the advertised speed!

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Its alot of ram - a high speed speed ram at that - at a great price. At the time I got this, this was the best deal I could find, and on that alone I am happy. If you intend to heavily OC your CPU - and North Bridge (4k NB or so) then expect to put some time in on the bios to really get the ram to be solid. If you OC the CPU alittle - and dont bother with the NB - then the ram speed should be pretty easy to reach.

If you're looking for some good mid-range RAM this set is great! This is my first time buying G.Skill and I'm very impressed. Before this I always purchased Hyper-X but the price to performance on this made me have to try it. Very pleased I made the purchase!
I never heard of Gskill. I am usually a Corsair, Crucial or Kingston customer when shopping for desktop RAM. Gskill has been good to me so far so I will add this company to my list for future builds and recommendations. I tried these guys once for my DDR3 laptop and it was great too.
Used with GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra. I had quite a long battle trying to get this memory to work. At first, MEMTEST86 wouldn't pass, even at 2133. I changed two things at once, so I don't know exactly what the cure was. Either the BIOS was a problem, or there was a poor connection. Make sure your BIOS is up to date to avoid that possibility.
Leaving voltage on auto, these work fine at 3200MHz, but they draw up to 1.44v according to the onboard sensors. If I set the voltage manually to 1.35, I can boot, but it isn't stable under any kind of load (bluescreen/lock after a few seconds.) Running with that much voltage made me nervous, so I settled on 3000MHz (achievable with 125 strap) and this is rock stable without the voltage going over 1.37. I'm okay with that because in real world use, I notice ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in the performance, and to be honest you probably wouldn't notice any difference even if it was running at 2133MHz for anything but synthetic benchmarks. Check the memory QVL at you motherboard manufacturer's website first as 4 dimms installed did not run at advertised speeds for me (Asus B450F) Via my own neglect, I over purchased.
I installed this RAM in a MSI Z270 Gaming M7 motherboard. i7 Kaby Lake 7700K. No issues at this time. I turned on XMP in the BIOS and the RAM went from 2133 to 3200, just like the label shows.
I have used GSkill for many years, decades now. never had a failure in lots of builds for me and friends , family . i hope the ddr 4 gets the same longevity. thing is, i have 3 amd phenom series boxes loaded with ddr3 still running 2 790, 2 890 and a 990 between 12 and 10yr old , i hate to retire them. not obsolete yet. 790s are on the edge but no quit in any of it. hope i can get this mileage from the ddr4.
