I've been using this memory in a ROG STRIX Z690-E Gaming WIFI motherboard for several months now. If I try using any XMP profile, the computer will crash after a while. If I turn off overclocking, it runs fine, but that defeats the purpose of even using this memory. Without OC, I shouldve just bought DDR4. For helpful information, I have: - Ran a mem test for 8hrs without any errors. - Updated the BIOS 3 times now (basically every new update that comes out in the hopes that it will solve the problem).

If I was building this system with cosmetics as a priority or was building it for someone else and to their spec.... I'd be annoyed. As it stands, the 'wrong' color I received isn't an impact, but caveat emptor if you NEED black ram spreaders. Like myself and others reviewing this product, you may not get them. I'm keeping the silvers (even if the product wasn't out of stock as I write this), your priorities may differ. I chose 3 eggs over 4 as I did not receive the actual product ordered, merely the functional equivalent... and if computers built for looks weren't a common influence in the market, RGB wouldn't exist, let alone increase price points.

I built a new pc and when I first got it running I did a memtest86 on the ram. It came back with over 4700 errors. I've just had to send gpu for rma and now this. A lot of times there is no display. If I unplug gpu and run from motherboard I/o it usually works but forget about gaming with an igu. Im not sure if the ram corrupted the gpu update or what. I just bought new ram so if my problem still persists, I'll change my review. I've bout g skill 6 times now and while I needed to rma one set I put it off. But gonna send both in. I tried Corsair before, but getting it recognized on the Asus motherboard for RGB sync was frustrating. G Skill worked without any software and was easier to control from the Asus Armoury Crate app. I think the description should include a note that running two kits at the tested or highest speed of 6400 MHz is not possible with DDR5. Coming from the DDR4 world, I thought two 2x16GB kits (4 DIMMs) would be perfect for my needs, but the system kept crashing and would freeze randomly. G Skill customer service quickly clarified my questions and confirmed that the rated speed only works when using a single kit. This kit works great with my Asus Strix Z690-F board and 12900k. No complaints. I was able to fire XMP right on up and I didn't have to touch any of the IMC voltages. Be warned.... DDR5 memory can get hot but I'm not having any issues with this kit. Thanks to a voltage regulator being located on the stick, the RAM temps can jump up while the system is running a program that uses lots of RAM. In the past I never had to worry about what the temps of DDR4 memory were doing, but with DDR5 I have to keep my eyes on the RAM temps. I see RGB memory fan kits in the future. No.... despite what some Youtubers have said.... DDR5 and DDR4 RAM are not compatible with eachother. That guy should have known better. Some of these Youtubers need a hardware history lesson.... and it shows when some of them don't even know what an 8800gt is.
Knowing issues with the DDR5 and Intel Gen 12 processor, I made several changes to the Bios in preparation. After the changes the the G.Skill has ran flawlessly at 5600MHz. Any issue with combatively is on so many hands. It could be the Bios of the MB, it could be the Ram, as so on. Maybe DDR5 is not reading to be released yet, who knows. I gave a less than favorable review to another brand of memory, but, I feel the G.Skill is the next level memory.
I have this installed on my Gigabyte Aorus Elite mobo. Once I enabled XMP, the RAM was recognized properly and is functioning properly at 6400mhz. I haven't attempted overclocking. RGB works great too, though I don't personally care about RGB. Seems like the best bang-for-the-buck DDR5 at the moment.

For users with 4x16gb, you have other problems as running 4 sticks (64GB) has its own issues entirely.
Before you buy this RAM ask yourself, do I own a gigabyte z690? If the answer is yes, this will be a headache as will most other high speed G.Skill kits. I have an Asus z690-E with a 12700k and XMP 1 works flawlessly. Voltages are high. Im working on tuning it down for the 6400 frequency. But out of the box XMP 1 works well/stable for me and my setup. Wish the latency wasnt so high its coming in above a lot of ddr4 kits. I would like to try to OC this to 6600+ but I havent been able to yet.
Update. I have found out after doing more research that it looks like it is a timing issue that may be causing the memory to be unstable running in XMP 1 and 2. I recently looked up the supported memory list for my Asus ROG Z690 Maximus Apex motherboard and even though it shows G.Skill 6400 mhz supported; all the supported 6400 mhz on the list has a timing of 40, where as this memory has a timing of 32, and this specific memory set was nowhere on the list as of yet. The is also the samething I found out with the the two different 6000 mhz kits that I had before this as both of those speeds are supported, but not with their timings of 36 that they had. I should have looked this up way before I bought any of these ram kits but having come from EVGA motherboards in the ... MoreUpdate.
