4.5 Star beautiful quality machine. Makes excellent coffee. Would have given 5 stars if it did not spit out some hot water before the hot milk comes out (I catch the water with a small cup, before the milk comes out when making cappuccino). Also, while trying to adjust the grinder setting (pushing down and turn) to experiment with a finer grind, it did not rotate and the plastic tool stripped a bit, so I'm just leaving it at the factory-setting, which seems to be perfect anyway. Temperature of coffee is good. Not too loud while grinding beans, overall very satisfied with purchase, and a reasonable price. Cheers!

And no capsules or pods with coffee processed and packed probably 3-4 months before you take them off the grocery shelf to your home. This machine, you grind your own beans fresh for each cup and the age of the bean is a lot more discernible by you depending on your purveyor. All that said, the machine made a great espresso, Better than anything a K-cup or Nespresso could make, at the fraction of the cost. However there are some things you must know before you buy:1) the initial set up is a lot more that plug in, add water, coffee and brew. You must set up the machine, run a test water cycle, test your water and adjust the filter for water hardness (the inclusion of a filter is an option you most definitely add as water and its quality is, obviously, the main ingredient the must be the best available) The filter installation instructions are not very clear since the filter just “sits” in place and doesn’t “snap” and stay in place. You must place it in the filter seat add water and the lid of the water cover holds it in place. Next, this machine is complicated. It has a lot of user options that need to set up initially. Things like brew strength, water temperature and hardness, filter use or non use per cup, brew size related to how much to brew per cup, and this is set for each kind of drink brewed. 2) The milk frothed works great once you set that up. The best feature is the the container is removable and once you fill it you may remove it from the machine and store it in the fridge for your next use. Make sure you plug the insert into the receptacle between uses. 3). Maintenance is easy, the used grinds are deposited into a storage bin inside the machine and depending on how much coffee is ground for your cups, you simply pull out the front panel and dispose of the grounds. If you are a gardener, there is your compost. See…environmentally and economically sound system. If pre grounded beans are wanted, there is a bypass for ground beans and you can use you favorite ground espresso. 4) Finally, GAGGIA makes spare parts and replacement parts easily obtainable should there be a necessity for them.ProsGreat coffee!Great choice of drinks, including milk drinksBeautiful design thin and sleekClear LCD ScreenEase of maintenanceFits under cabinet with ability to open and fill both beans and water under a standard cabinet heightVery cost effective and environmentally responsible after your initial $$$ investmentAvailable spare and replacement partsCons$$$ initial cost is high for an espresso machine but still great machine for under $1,000Major initial set up time investmentComplicated set up. I will say that I had got quite used to the grinding, manually tamping my doses and doing the whole labor of love making of my morning espresso/americano. Now that we have made the Gaggia Anima the main part of our coffee bar, I am not sure Id go back to the manual side of making my morning ritual. As far as setting up the machine... it was extremely easy. Did I mention that the machine is beautiful and extremely clean looking. Follow the directions and you'll be up and running in no time flat. Don't get impatient with your first sets of espresso pulls. I think that it took me about 6 or 7 shots to get the machine dialed in on the fine grind setting. This machine learns and adapts to the beans your'e using. The first pucks were a little sloppy (normal) and then things settled in and man oh man were we drinking some fine espresso drinks. Take your time and ease into it and you'll be quite satisfied. As far as the milk carafe/frother goes, it worked fantastic and we've had absolutely no issues with it what-so-ever. Make sure you store the carafe in the refrigerator when done using it and milk is still present.All-in-all we have been very impressed and happy with our choice. My wife loves the different drinks it makes and comments about how rich it tastes. Side note. Pay attention to the beans you buy. Oily dark beans are NOT the way to go. Thank you Whole Latte Love for all your most excellent customer support and patients with all my questions. We've never enjoyed a shot of espresso more until now

Absolutely LUV this brand and particular all-in-one espresso/coffee maker/grinder/frother. This is our second Gaggia Anima Prestige and we get so many complements when we make coffees for our guests. They always wonder about our beans and we tell them it’s not just the beans we use, but the coffee maker itself. It is very easy to use and maintain as well as daily/weekly cleaning. Choosing the coffee type and adjusting the aroma strength and grind is super simple, too. It is quick to make a cup of anything and tells you what is coming next and what to install where (frother or hot water spout). If this one gets used up just like the other one we had for 6years we will for sure purchase another one.
This super-automatic espresso machine is awesome, but does require some due diligence. The setup process wasn’t at all confusing and I set the machine up with relative ease. All of the customizable features are very handy and simple to understand while being thoughtfully engineered. The cleaning process, while necessary, is also relatively simple. I would recommend this product to people who want to wake up and push a button instead of barista their drinks. That’s me! And I love it exactly for that. But you do need to stay on top of keeping it clean. I typically remove all the parts and do a full clean every other day.For those with concerns about the bean grinder, it works exceptionally well. I set the grinder to the finest setting, and the espresso shots are perfect.I’m doubt you save time with using this machine over say a Rancilio Silvia. As a first time espresso machine owner, I would love to have both and if you like to nerd out on things, you could easily learn to appreciate a manual espresso experience over the super-automatic machine.Overall I’m pleased with my decision and I absolutely recommend this product. Dispensing of pucks is super easy, as is the cleanup. The Gaggia Amina Prestige covers all the necessary bases to brew fresh cups of coffee, or espresso shots and cappuccino \ latte drinks. This is the perfect machine for a family with a coffee addiction, or a small office environment. Just clean it regularly and you’ll be very satisfied. Also, don’t buy oily coffee beans. There are recommendations by whole latte love as to which beans work well with the machine and I bought Filicori Zecchini Delicato Whole Bean and Illy Intenso Whole Bean, which both have worked perfectly, and taste delicious. Be sure to also buy all the recommended products (water filters, service kit, decalcifier liquid, coffee clean tablets as these will be necessary to own at some point, so you might as well pick up those products at the time of purchase. Good luck, and enjoy!
After reading the reviews and discussing with the salesperson on this machine, I took a chance and decided to buy a refurbished Gaggia Anima prestige in February 2021. Though the warranty for refurb units is only 6-months (as oppose to new units that have 2-year warranties), the salesperson had convinced me that these refurb units would not have the original packing as they have been slightly used but have been fully checked out and should function as a new unit. About 2 weeks before the 6-month warranty was expiring (August 2021) my unit broke down. Luckily, it was under warranty so I was able to send it back to Whole Latte Love and have it repaired. About 2 weeks before the 6-month warranty was expiring (August 2021) my unit broke down. Luckily, it was under warranty so I was able to send it back to Whole Latte Love and have it repaired. I think I had to pay the minor shipping cost to have the unit send to them. The grinder motor was broken and it required 6-hours of labor (6 X $25/hour = $150) to repair it. Additionally, the new grinder assembly costs $110 so it would have cost me $260 to repair it.Now 1-year after the unit was repaired in 2021, I had the same issue again this year in September 2022. Whole Latte's customer support was very nice and suggested I take apart the unit and see if I can better clean and recalibrate the grinder assembly, which I did with the help of the video that they provided to me. It took me about an hour to so and the unit still has the same problem. Now that the unit is no longer under warranty and if I want to it repaired again, I will need to send it back and pay $260 out of my own pocket this time to have it repaired again.I have always taken care of this machine by rinsing the brewing unit weekly, only using medium or light beans and have lubricated (as suggested by the videos) it every few weeks or so. Still this product has malfunctioned in such a short time. I have decided to just cut my losses and not send this unit back for repair as I no comfort at all on this product's quality. Not sure if it is because I bought a refurb unit or Gaggia Anima prestige is just a bad product. For sure, I won't be buying any Gaggia products in the future.
Delivery was delayed several days, but this was understandable given the ground shipping delays on BC routes this winter season. I ordered my Gaggia on Dec. 21st 2021 and received it by first week of January 2022.My machine arrived missing two components: the fresh seal lid that is supposed to go on top of the coffee bean grinder, ensuring the freshness of the beans is maintained, and a small silver cover that is supposed to clip over the water spout, when you are not using the water dispenser. This clip was advertised in Consiglio's demo video of the espresso machine, so I know it should have been included. The other major flaw is the temperature, which has been mentioned in other reviews. This clip was advertised in Consiglio's demo video of the espresso machine, so I know it should have been included. The other major flaw is the temperature, which has been mentioned in other reviews. Unless I want to spend a few hundred dollars buying a separate "cup warmer", despite being set to the highest temperature the machine does not make very hot espressos. If you are working and casually sipping your coffee, you will find it gets cold within 5mins because it's not very hot when it's dispensed in the first place. I find myself having to microwave the espresso drink for 10-20 secs beforee drinking it, and especially if adding any creamer. This defeats the purpose of buying such an expensive "super-automatic" espresso machine, if I have to heat up my beverages anyway?? Disappointing for the price point, since the quality of coffee being pressed by the machine is actually quite rich and creamy, as it should be.I hope customer support is able to resolve my issues with the missing parts of my machine, as soon as possible.
I love my “new” Gaggia Anima Prestige! The ease of getting a latte or cappuccino is just what I was looking for and the ability to customize it to my taste makes for a great coffee. The fact that it was refurbished makes no difference to me. All the parts were there and it was all cleaned and works great. The only thing that concerns me is that there is a pretty loud clunking sound inside the machine that I can only assume is the coffee puck being knocked into the box. I have a friend who has the same machine and the same noise. Also, the manual is online. It’s pretty detailed and was hard to use online so I actually printed it out for easier reference. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and recommend it to anyone!
With our purchase of a refurb Gaggia. This is our first foray into super automatics and I spent a lot time researching what would be the best fit for us. We landed on this machine. Other than some coffee dust, the machine appeared to be brand new, well packaged and shipped super quick. Set-up was very easy with the help of some great you-tube videos. We were making drinks within a 1/2 hr of assembly. We made about 10-12 cups playing around with the grind setting and the aroma setting. One thing to be aware of, is it does not have individual profile saves, you can do one save per function. However, with just two of us in the house, it is not an issue because it is very easy to adjust. There is a generous tank for water. For many years we have skimped by with an embarrassingly lesser machine, mostly as we were in such a small house. Having finally bought a house last year, when our sad machine died a couple months ago, we immediately came to wholelattelove to look for a much more proper machine. We would have likely gone for a lower Gaggia, which would have still been great, but the amazing Flash sale that happened to be occurring made the Anima impossible to pass up. And, just wow…I'd forgotten how amazing espresso drinks could be! I was always one of those who had to add things to help cover the bitterness, but that was also as everyone uses darker roasts for their espresso. Being able to use my own lighter blend (from a new roasterd I've found, near our new house even!), I'm ... MoreFor many years we have skimped by with an embarrassingly lesser machine, mostly as we were in such a small house. It's dangerous as I don't have any effect from caffeine, so I can drink it any time, and I want to now! :DWe've had it for a few weeks and it's been working great. The indicators make it VERY obvious when we need to empty or refill various things, and I'm excited to have many years with our Anima!
