Gaia Agiorgitiko 750ml

(7 reviews)

Gaia Agiorgitiko 75cl Gaia makes this lovely red from the local Agiorgitko grape from a vertiginously steep vineyard in the Nemia region of the Peloponnese. Fresh juicy dark fruited nose and spicy palate, think cool climate Syrah as a guideline, this is very attractive. Gaia, famed for its wines made on Santorini also owns this estate in the high lying Nemia region in the north east of the Peloponnese. Again specialising in local varietals they produce this lovely red from the local Agiorgitko grape, pronounced Ai-or-itiko with silent G’s; planted on clay soils in a vertiginously steep vineyard. Fermented in stainless steel, then aged for 10 months in 3 year old barrels, this has a cool dark cherry, plum and blackberry nose with a fresh juicy dark fruited spicy palate, think cool climate Syrah as a guideline, this is very attractive.
