Gaia Herbs Kava Root 60 Vegan Liquid Phyto-Caps
Kava is said to have orgininated on the archipelago of Vanuatu, whose name means "The Land Eternal". It has been domesticated throughout Oceania (Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia). It comes from places referred to by many of us as "Paradise," including Fiji, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga and Hawaii where it is called Awa. This member of the Pepper family (Piperacea) has been used for centuries in different ceremonies promoting social, cultural and religious enhancement. The Natives revere this plant and its importance to them is much deeper than a mere medicinal effect for relaxation. Kava was used by eclectic physicians and physiomedical doctors practicing in the middle of the 19th century in North America as a genitourinary sedative and for pain associated with gonorrhea and other STDs. Kava was also used to treat a decreased flow in the glomeruli and for nocturnal enuresis (bedwetting). The native people of Oceania shared these uses as well as its use as a topical antiseptic and oral anesthetic, and to relieve the muscular pain from asthma and T.B. as well as whooping cough, headaches, stomach ache, and tooth pain. The exact mechanism of action on the nervous system is unknown however it is likely that many phytochemicals in Kava, including kavalactones, contribute to the full effects of this herbal medicine. Clinical studies show great promise for Kava to support healthy lung tissue and as a supportive aid for the nervous system. Kava has a calming and relaxing effect on the body and is supportive during periods of occasional stress.

So I decided to try this supplement after talking to a friend said that it helped him with stress. I did a little bit of research and decided to buy this brand despite quite a few of the bad the review. I bought this thinking that it my first time trying this so will be more effective and it does. It was really effective in a bad way. I have to say that I have never experienced anxiety attacks in my whole life other than just some stress from school. These pill gave me so so much anxiety, and I had my very first anxiety attack after using this and it was horrible. I truly regret that I bought this.

I have taken kava for ten years. This is one of the only products that is safe while being actually effective. This is not ground up plant matter (which often includes stems and other plant matter that is awful for your liver). This is liquid extract. And unlike some other liquid capsules, this is a clean and very potent feeling of relaxation. No hangover and no weird liver pains

I've taken Kava for years to help me sleep from time to time. I purchased these is October 2021. Took a few and was disappointed with the lack of benefit. Fast forward to August of 2022. I looked at the contents and was horrified by what I found. They were kept inside a climate controlled home in a drawer, not exposed to sunlight and the expiration is 5/24. I tried to contact the seller from my original purchase and the page is gone and I could even search by the product. I only accidently found them again while searching for a reputable brand. Fair warning, don't buy these.
Love this brand. i have tried the adrenal support and it was a life-changing and this kava helps me relax and take the edge off my stress. Lavender, valerian and kava was as effective as xanax.yoga and meditation are great help. The FDA Warning is about the Kava "Leaf" NOT the "Root." The Kava Kava Leaf contains a chemical which is bad for your liver, but the Root dose not contain that chemical. As long as Gaia Herbs is not putting any Leaf material in the caps then they should be perfectly safe but then again do your own researches and don't use it for more than 3 months.also, i read that the tea is more effective but this capsule are not dry herbs and they actually are liquid so its as effective.
I've been a regular kava officianado since living in Hawai'i in the 1990s. Throughout the Pacific, kava kava is used ceremonially and casually and has a strong ability to relax and take the edge of. I've been taking these from Gaia Herbs, and maybe because of my tolerance for kava, the effect on me is mild, but for newcomers I hope it will help to relieve anxiety and stress. This is Vanuatu kava in this product. Worth a try, and individual results may vary.
I wish Gaia Herbs made a Kava product with more than just 60 capsules in it. While it is important to be aware of the liver toxins when consuming Kava, it takes A LOT more than the average person for me to reap the benefits from these capsules. I consider this a great beginner Kava product if you're not familiar with taking it. However, to really enjoy the full range of Kava benefits (nearly immediately), it is necessary to buy a (well-researched and source labeled) product that you must prepare in a ceremonial method and drink it as a tea.
I have been using this kava supplement on an as-needed basis (1-2 times per week) for a few months and really love it. I use it for 3 different purposes. One, it calms me down when I'm feeling really stressed. I take 1-2 pills for that. Two, before social interactions where I'm meeting new people, since I have a bit of social anxiety and this helps me be chatty and more charismatic. Third, when I feel like I might not have a good night's sleep, I take 2 pills before bed. This works way better for me than melatonin! I always fall asleep quickly when I take it.
I've tried a couple of kava supplements and this one was consistent in delivering my relief from anxiety. I took one capsule every day for months and I find myself missing it a lot now. I'm not sure how the company is suffering financially, but a price increase from $16 to $26 within a few months is ridiculous. Over a 50% price increase in such a short amount of time. I'm very sorry to say I will be trying more products before I return as a customer for this price. Otherwise, I would judge from this one product that Gaia makes quality products.
These capsules are a good buy for anyone needing a little relaxation. They don’t put me out but I take one and shortly thereafter feel much more calm. I get a lot of tension from stress and these seem to help my muscles relax. I would definitely buy these again. I would recommend starting with one and seeing how it affects you. They also are easy to swallow and have no aftertaste.
