The lock comes with noticeably cheap screws, threads, and other parts. The design makes it difficult to install. I would not consider purchasing another Gainsborough lock after this.

Replacing existing with same otherwise you may have to drill more holes in existing door.Good product does the job, nothing fancy.

I have bought and installed at least 6 of these units in the past (both the lever and knob style). The mechanical quality is good, however, the gold coating has failed consistently (within 1 to 2 years after installation) exposing the silver finish beneath and leaving the units looking unsightly. I can't be sure that some of the units haven't been mistreated in some way but of the three that I have installed on my own properties I am confident that they have not been mistreated. I have observed the same failure in all of the gold finished units and will not purchase or recommend them again.
If on your on-line shopping site shows tumb plate drawing or clearer specifications its help. Product quality was good. Can't fit to change.
I bought this for my new front door i am very happy
Good lever set, however, ordered round knob as pictured but received lever handle that was not ideal due to wooden blinds on the door,Special orders were very helpful but were let down by the manufacturer, they said round knob was obsolete in the style ordered. Had to make lever work but it was not was ordered.
Replaced existing, hole spacing slightly different but no big deal, works fine.
Matches the other pre-existing door locks in the house well.
