Ah... I remember spending hours playing this game with my friends growing up, it's one of the reasons I liked going over to their houses so much. Hours and Hours spent destroying Mario... lol.Gameplay: Highly Interactive, fast pace combat. Requires fair timing and gobs of time to master any given character. Event modes are a lot of fun, such as the normal campaign and the Adventure mode. Adventure mode was a new take on the basic campaign mode, giving you access to running through a land accumalting damage before taking on bosses. I loved super smash bros ever since I played the first game on the Nintendo 64. I bought this game when I bought a used Gamecube one way. I was expecting many differences from the original, but I was pleasantly surprised! I was able to pick up this game quickly without much trouble. In melee, you can play through the new adventure mode or the classic adventure mode. Gosh, so many memories came flooding back when beating that evil large hand again.Any super smash bros game is beat played with at least one other human. It is still sort of fun playing against computers at the hardest level, but once you become a pro its easy to predict their moves. Trying to unlock some of the characters drove me a little crazy because I would get very frustrated.It's a great game to play with company, or by yourself. There is a new Adventure mode that takes you through some cool levels, although after playing it ten or more times to try to unlock Young Link, it gets very old. I love how the 1 player mode randomly selects foes and stages, so it's not like you're always playing the same characters in the same stage as you did in the first Super Smash Brothers.The graphics are beautiful for a Gamecube game. SSB has 8 initially, and 4 unlockables; SSBM has 15 initially (Zelda and Sheik!), and 11 unlockables! The single player modes have also been transformed into a behemoth of challenging and enjoyable events. Many characters are unlocked in the single-player modes, although it is also possible to unlock all the characters by playing a ton of versus matches (up to 1000 matches in total I think?). SSBM was probably one of the best sequels an already great.

The colors are bright and vibrant and the characters are very well detailed. However, the pitfall to this game is the loose controls. They're too simple to be a good fighting game and too loose to be a good platformer. In this fighting game you're asked to sometimes perform some difficult jumping and, while that's not the toughest thing in the world to do, it should be a lot easier. Street Fighter it's not.
