Uncharted Drake's Fortune was great game when it came out. It had a movie feel, great characters,snappy dialogue, wonderful story, intense action, and great game play involving a nice mix of combat, puzzles, and aerobics. It is a great game, but is nowhere near the same level as Uncharted 2, band of Thieves, which has to be one of the best PS3 games of all time.Visuals-better than the last game. Lots of detail such Drake's clothes getting wet, realistic looking environments, Superb motion capture, and great transitions to different locations (such as the train mission, where it passes all sorts of different environments).Story and Characters- Story-line and dialogue is just as good as the last game. There are more waves of enemies, helicopters trying to shoot you down, vehicle chase sequences crumbling floors, etc. Drake can carry or pick up a good selection of weapons along his journey and take cover from gunshots and many other hazardous situations. The hand to had combat is improved. This time Drake can dodge attacks and knock down enemies with simple button pressing. He can also perform stealth attacks which is helpful because the more stealth kills he makes,.

I heard great praise about this game when it first came out, but never really got the chance to pick it up and play it. I saw the GOTY edition on sale on retrolio for 16.99 and figured what the hell? Worst case scenario I'll just resell it and lose a few bucks if I didnt like it.Luckily, I did not have to do that as the moment I started the game, I could not put down the remote. The beginning is a bit slow I admit, but once you get to play with the big guns, the game picks up.The gameplay itself is more of a action/adventure with third person shooter incooperated in it. The scenary is beautiful and nicely rendered.Difficulty of the game is not too high ( I played on normal and it was pretty easy to beat, especially the final boss ). I beat the game within five days or so, playing about of 2-3 hours a day. Although I did skip a lot of the treasures.Replay value is ok i guess. There are things you can buy to change the game up for example, infinite ammo, fast foward gameplay, no gravity on certain objects, one hit kills, different costumes for characters, etc etc.The multiplayer didn't seem to load for me, Im' guessing they took it offline since the game is so old and most people don't play online anymore. Overall, stellar for the time, but not as good now (naturally).I found gameplay to be highly enjoyable, especially following the kind of games I love, ie God of War 3. There's a lot of long jumps and climbing going on, and shooting while jumping and climbing as well (actually, there's a lot of shooting in general), and Drake frequently hangs off signs and takes out the bad guys like any normal person would. The most affecting part of gameplay appeared to be camera angles. Don't get me wrong, third person is my favorite type of game, but God of War 3 at least didn't immediately put the camera overhead so you'd have to move it but not in time before being.

Usually these days, I get easily bored with even the highest rated games and give up, or keep playing in a futile effort to relive the thrill of what is was like playing games that really sucked me in back in the day. Like Goldeneye or Zelda for N64 for example. So I don't play video games a whole lot anymore, and am definitely pretty casual in my gaming. I have a short attention span and don't have tons of time to kill generally, so games that are generally really fun but sometimes get monotonous (God of War) get tossed to the side after a while.This game, however, has grabbed ahold of me and has got me to waste this entire passed weekend away on it (something I haven't experienced in forever). Normally my ADD requires me to skip past cut scenes, but these are awesome and don't take away from the flow of gameplay. But its not just the cutscenes that make this game cinematic...It's as if they took a great action movie and put you in the lead role. Obviously, I'm not saying this plays like a movie-to-game adaption, but it sucks you in on an emotional level and doesn't let go. And the game makes me continuously grateful for having a big plasma and surround sound set up.The game mix of climbing, puzzles, and shooting is perfect. Also, I like that the checkpoints are usually pretty close together, so you don't end up replaying the same frustrating task ove.

Still, the star of that game was the dialogs, voice acting, story and graphics (for the time). It felt like a movie more than gaming.Uncharted 2 happily does away with most of those annoyances for a vastly improved game. The graphics are good, loading times are non-existent and gameplay is improved. There are stealth sequences as well and you can approach many situations stealthily first (although you cannot complete the levels fully stealthed a la Hitman).Voice acting is again superb. The only reason I purchased this particular version was to get the DLC.This is one of my first PS3 purchases for the first PS3 bought for the kids.Very disappointed in my VIP Group Corporation purchase. Really wish I had seen the customer review who already had this issue prior to ordering the game. This game just continues to get better and better. From the beggining when i bought the first DLC for 3.99 which was such a good deal considering that Modern Warefare 2 is 15.99 for each DLC. I started out playing MP for this game and then once realizing that this was a masterpiece of a game i played Single-Player.The Single-Player for this game is so great that i challenged myself to get a Platinum trophy for it and soon after a couple of days it was mine. I have over 13+ days of MP action and will never regret spending my time. The game will make you think that MW2 is garbage and should be traded in immediately. If my friend didn't recommend this game to me back in April I would have died just knowing I missed out on this great work. Else, a lot of the backstory will be missing, and some of the interactions will not have the same immediacy as they would otherwise. This game is also particularly forgiving to occasional gamers - with hints available for tough puzzles.The only downside? I wish they'd focus more on gameplay and less on the cutscenes.
