It looks nice and the insects in my garden enjoy it (have put a rock in it above the waterline for the ladybugs to escape onto). Has a design flaw in that the holes where the hooks go in are halfway down, so it holds very little water before leaking out through the hook holes. I have put a plant under it to catch that water but would have liked a little more depth for the birds to enjoy. It's attractive and has withstood some strong winds (hanging from the hills hoist) so i don't regret the purchase. Want to give 3.5 stars but there's no half star option so voted up and gave it 4!

I don't use this as a birdbath. I put Harmony honeyeater food in it for the lorikeets and noisy minors. It's perfect as a feeder. I have a birdbath which stands on the ground. Birds around here mostly use our pool both for drinking and late afternoon swims.Birds have a great life in the suburbs.

As others have mentioned , this birdbath only holds a small amount of water due to the poor placement of the holes .I'm not a handyman so will probably return it .

I added the chain and bent the hooks in to reduce movement. I then filled the holes with waterproof silicone. This solved the problem of shallow water level. A bit of extra work but it works really well
Very heavy and steady. Can be used to be both good bird feeders and baths. Just need to use putty to fill the holes if you use it as bird bath. Birds just love it.
Great price great buy! Can’t be happier with the bird bath bowl. I did fill the three large holes with putty as I saw the reviews of someone who’s complaining about the water level can the higher without the holes.I used this bowl as bird feeder anyway and it works awesome. The bowl is very steady and won’t tilt when birds feeding since it’s cement and heavy enough. So much better than the plastic ones.I have king parrots and lorikeets coming so far hope there are more other birds coming soon too.
Super happy with this purchase, we are using it for seed rather than water. Works perfectly and birds like it too, enough room for them to land safely.
None available at my local Bunnings in Mornington, but low stock indicated at Frankston store where I found the last one in aisle 35. I checked the box to make sure the hanging chains were inside, and everything was there. I have hung it under a branch of my Tamarillo tree. Lets see how long it takes for the birds to find it.
I drilled extra holes in the bottom as drainage to use it as a feeder. The chain and S hook both come in the box. I understand the reviews saying the holes for the chain aren’t very high up, but I also don’t think that a dove/myna/sparrow/lorikeet/magpie needs a particularly deep bath. It has lovely bird silhouettes embossed into the bottom of the dish too.
As stated by another reviewer, the holes for the chain are literally half the way up the height of the bowl, so it can only be filled to the halfway point. Ridiculously poor design that could have easily been rectified to increase functionality
