I am an over sixty female who exercises regularly. As I include walking, running, bike riding, paddle boarding, trekking and climbing in my regime, I needed a watch that could record all of the above. I was also interested in my sleep pattern. I have had quite a few Garmin watches over the time and have always been happy with the product and the service provided by the Hervey Bay Store in Qld. My previous watch was a 245 and my husband had a 935. This made the decision to upgrade to the 935 easy as I had witnessed how he could use it to his advantage. I must admit it took us a little while to get the Garmin Connect app on our individual phones to recognise that we had two different watches and not swap our information over to each other. The help centre was great with sorting this out. I do wish Garmin offered the option of coloured bands at a reasonable price. There are two reasons for this. Firstly having two watches in the one household makes it very difficult when in a hurry to pick up the correct watch. Secondly being a female and now wanting to wear the watch all of the time, it would be great to be able to have the watch fit in with my fashion colours. I have since bought a band from E-Bay but would be preferable to buy it direct from Garmin. My husband and I have had six Garmin watches between us, have bought one for our daughter, encouraged our sister-in-law to purchase one as well as our neighbour. WE LOVE OUR GARMIN WATCHES. Thank you Garmin.

I do not have lots of experience with gizmos of this nature. I found the layout of the instruction manual chaotic and, with few exceptions, I tended to ignore that verbiage. However, having now worked out the logic largely by trial and error I reckon it is a remarkable device. I am never likely to take advantage of the amazing array of options available, because my focus is simply on running and general fitness. Perhaps I could have selected a Garmin with fewer capabilities, but I am not at all disappointed with the Forerunner 935. One precautionary thing I did right from the get-go was to purchase a face protector and stick that in place. A few hefty scratches on the watch face would have made me weep.

Love this watch!! Bought it 1.5 years ago and wear it almost 24/7. I mainly use it for running and biking, but also to track my daily heart rate, calories burned, steps, and sleep. The screen is very easy to read. It took a little time to learn how to navigate the menus using the 5 buttons, but I personally prefer buttons over a touchscreen watch face. I’ve never had any problem syncing the watch to the Garmin Connect app. I also use the Garmin Running pod and never had an issue with connecting it to my watch. No complaints about the battery life, although I can’t really say how long the battery lasts. I usually plug it in to charge when I shower. It charges fairly quickly. My only complaint is that the Garmin’s sleep feature isn’t as sensitive as Fitbit’s sleep ... MoreLove this watch!! Bought it 1.5 years ago and wear it almost 24/7. I had a Fitbit Surge years ago and it would detect midday naps, Garmin does not (at least the Forerunner 735xt and 935 do not). However, I’m not overly concerned about my sleep data. This is still my favorite GPS watch that I’ve had thus far!

Garmin 935 can l justify paying this much for a watch. I have to admit l took my time to buy it. Asking questions to myself, can l justify paying so much for a watch that l would use to count my lengths when swimming. Should l have a Apple Watch, should have a Fitbit and the list goes on. Well in the end l went for it and l have to admit l am very pleased that l have bought it. Its a cracking piece of kit, coping with my swimming, l can now enjoy my swim rather than having to concentrate on how many lengths l have done. You can also use the drill log to include your kicking lengths or other lengths when you are not doing a proper stroke in your total distance. You can also use the drill log to include your kicking lengths or other lengths when you are not doing a proper stroke in your total distance. I must admit the step counter is very good and motivating, as is the ability to use it for walking, running and many other sports. The Garmin interface is very good to review your activities, it can be temperamental at times. You can receive weekly reports if you so wish and they can be quite interesting. So, yes l would say go for it, it can be a bit of a learning curve , but if you can get a deal on it as l did the better. I also bought a screen saver as well which is very good and would recommend to give your screen face protection. Finally, l have found that the battery life is very good, l would say l get abouta weeks worth, but the charging is very quick. I set up some of my details on my computer with the lead that comes with the watch and use my iPad to upload my information via Bluetooth which is very quick and automatic once linked. For people with type two diabetes the watch also links to MyDesmond. You can change the watch face look etc. In the Garmin app. If you can find someone who already has one the better, have a chat and see if you can get on with it and additional chat to people who have an Apple or Fitbit etc. To see what they use it for and if that fits with how you would use it. I am very happy with mine, so much so l bought hubby one as well.
Garmin Forerunner 935 Running GPS Sport Watch w/ Wrist-Based Heart Rate I purchased one of these used in September 2022 - Obviously it is not the latest offering from Garmin, but I tell you what, this one nice watch. It has a lot of capability and features... Paired nicely with my Pixel 3 Pro phone, my e-mail service, and Wifi routers. The previous owner appears to have taken nice care of it, since it arrived very clean, complete with original packaging and charging cable. Seller also included the original purchase receipt of a few years ago. For my application, (cycling and tracking & logging my travels) it's overkill, and my cell phone would also do the same, but I like combining my activities (travel and cycling) together in the Garmin App. Plus I needed a new ... MoreGarmin Forerunner 935 Running GPS Sport Watch w/ Wrist-Based Heart Rate I purchased one of these used in September 2022 - Obviously it is not the latest offering from Garmin, but I tell you what, this one nice watch. I bought this to replace my previous FR935 that I handed down to a relative, so I already had 2years experience using it. The watch is so lightweight that I never notice it and leave it on all the time. It has tons of features, but most importantly its a reliable GPS watch and even as a four year old model it still kicks so much arse! At the price bracket of sub 300Euros, it has got to be the bargain of the year in the premium GPS watches categories. If you do not need to pay with Garmin Pay, or the maps that you get with the FR945, I would so recommend to give this watch a try.My only criticism is I had the tri FR935, and I have to say the yellow band I had on that watch was both more comfortable and stylish than the black one that comes as standard for this ... MoreI bought this to replace my previous FR935 that I handed down to a relative, so I already had 2years experience using it. Their delivery service is okay, the delivery times are only indications, but all in all can't complain :)
I bought a Fenix 5 end of last year as an upgrade from my old faithful Forerunner 35. I hated the Fenix from the start, it was very big and heavy, the battery was barely lasting a week whereas my forerunner was lasting me 2 weeks with tracking, the buttons on the Fenix were clunky and sometimes wouldn't work, the tracking was useless (heart rate was super erratic and steps was so bad I could sit and type and it would register as steps. Plus the connection with my phone would drop out for no reason. Finally I had enough when the battery started only lasting me 3-4 days at most and that's with no tracking and being used as just a smart watch. I wasn't about to try another Fenix so I went with a Forerunner 935, the watch I originally wanted but Rebel was sold out. I wasn't about to try another Fenix so I went with a Forerunner 935, the watch I originally wanted but Rebel was sold out. It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't needed to charge it, the buttons work perfect, the stats are much more accurate, it connects with my phone easily and doesn't keep dropping out for no reason, it's still a big watch for a ladies wrist but it fits really well and isn't at all heavy. I know the reviewers say the Fenix is the top of the range Forerunner 935 but to me it's definitely the opposite. I love this watch and this will be my fitness tracker for a long time. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is an athlete, or serious about getting healthy and fit and still wants all the extra bells and whistles from their fitness watch.
I went back and forth a lot on the Forerunner 935 (FR935) vs Fenix 5. First of all I had previously had a fenix 3 for about 3 years, and while I loved that watch and all it was capable of, I eventually grew tired of wearing a hockey puck sized watch and began switching b/w it and a much svelter analog watch for work. This was annoying to me as I often bike to/from work and wouldn't track it b/c I wasn't wearing the right watch. So when I was looking at the two options mentioned above, the ability to wear the watch 24/7 was important and I wanted to not feel like I was wearing a significant weight on my wrist. The FR935 is significantly lighter than the fenix and slightly less imposing on the wrist so this was a factor. So when I was looking at the two options mentioned above, the ability to wear the watch 24/7 was important and I wanted to not feel like I was wearing a significant weight on my wrist. The FR935 is significantly lighter than the fenix and slightly less imposing on the wrist so this was a factor. Having the watch for a few months now, it is like wearing nothing at all and, with the help of a few quick release bands (that are over priced but mighty fine) I wear the watch from work to play to work out and back again without any twinges of self-consciousness.I realize this is a matter of preference, but I preferred the more minimal design of the FR935 as well. From what I gather, one of the big concerns is that the FR935 doesn't come with the sapphire glass option. I solved this with a $5 tempered glass screen protector and never looked back.Other than the above mentioned points, the watch is identical to the Fenix in features, OS, etc. Either watch would have been a great upgrade from the great Fenix 3, I chose this option and am beyond satisfied. I have actually had quite a few comments from people regarding the watch as well. One final note, I remember from researching the two watches ad nauseam was that some people knocked the watch for being made of plastic instead of whatever alloy the fenix comes in. I've got nothing but high marks for the build quality and thus far have not noticed any scuffs, scratches, etc that make me rethink the decision.Overall, it was the right watch for what I wanted. I primarily run and wanted to wear the thing all day. It is amazing to run with, it looks great and has a minimalism aesthetic. I recommend it.
The Garmin Forerunner 935 is an improvement over my previous 'activity' watch (a Huawei). The heart rate recording appears to be more accurate. Also very important to me is that the 'always on' display can include a seconds display, making it suitable to bring to a medical workplace. Not all custom watchfaces include a particularly readable seconds display, and some watchfaces don't display the 'seconds' in a smooth fashion (some were quite 'jerky'!). My own preference is the '40+ watch face', designed for those with presbyopia! The display does lack brightness and contrast compared to my Huawei, but the always-on seconds display makes up for it!Good connectivity to the phone, and automatically passes on activities to Strava.
Overall I like this watch. I put it on the minute I wake up, and remove it when I go to sleep (I don't like wearing stuff at night, personal preference). I've used it daily for nine months, and use it for hiking, running, and bicycling. The app is user friendly and I love seeing maps of my hiking routes, graphs of my manually-entered weight changes, exercise intensity minutes, steps, cardiovascular exertion, VO2 max, and other fun info. I like the silly badges it sends you if you hike in below-freezing weather, or beat your PR. It's comfortable, light, and is not ridiculously huge on a woman's wrist. I have not had issues with scratches, and I'm pretty hard on my stuff. I wash the band with a drop of Dawn dish detergent and let it air-dry - haven't had any problems ... MoreOverall I like this watch. I have not had issues with scratches, and I'm pretty hard on my stuff. I wash the band with a drop of Dawn dish detergent and let it air-dry - haven't had any problems yet.I'm giving it three stars because for $500 this watch is absolutely terrible at counting floors. The first time I noticed this was the first few days I wore the watch and walked up the 10 flights of stairs from my building's garage to my apartment. One day the watch registered no floors, another day it registered all 10 floors, then other days it registered around 4 floors. I called Garmin and the rep said that floors are measured by air pressure, not actual floors. That's why it doesn't register floors counted on a stair master, because the pressure doesn't change. For an exercise watch, that is really pointless. But even besides that, it doesn't work well even on real stairs, as in my example above walking from garage to apartment. Another example is my daily morning walk with my dog. We walk the same paths every day, always do two loops of the same paths, and there's some elevation changes but not much. Usually the watch registers maybe 4 floors. One day the weather was a little funky, kind of right before snowing, and the watch registered 27 flights for the same exact walk! What the heck! Then other days, like right before it start to rain or something, the watch will register 15 floors. On a hot summer's day, though, it's back to appx 4 floors, some days even 0 floors. Makes no sense. For $500 that is very upsetting. The pedometer seems accurate, but who needs a $500 pedometer.I would buy this watch again because of all its other features, but if there's a product that can do what this does plus have an accurate floor counter, I'm switching in a heartbeat.
