The quality of the video is excellent and I feel so much safer driving in Miami with this. You can access the footage from an SD card by popping it into your laptop. I thankfully havent had to do that yet. It turns on with the car. Only issue I have is leaving it in the car on super hot days, it cant tolerate the heat to well. The mount was sturdy and I was able to adjust it to point different ways.

The instructions that came along with box said that the car mount must be installed when the ambient temperature is above 21°C. That means that for Canadian market, the product cannot be installed for at least 8 months in a year. I waited for a warm day to install the mount. There is a small rubber pad that sticks to the car, and then a metallic mount/hook that sticks to this pad and holds the camera. Both the pad and hook are octagonal in shape, and it is almost impossible to align both these octagons while sitting in a driver's seat and your hand obstructing the view. Slightly annoying collision warning feature when in city traffic - always alerting. But still would rather have it than not on older cars that don’t come with collision avoidance braking features. Excellence in a Small Package, I now have three of these in different vehicles we have they work perfectly fine, no issues like a few have said when software updated. Compact size makes it less inconspicuous than other models out there, not sure why people go for the next model with the Copper coloured lens ring stands out a mile! So many safety features, sometimes the warning chime can be a little annoying but I like it turned down a bit, its like being in an aircraft cockpit at times. Fit and forget perfect, images are good and clear and night vision is far better than a lot I have seen. Lifetime safety camera updates as well. Excellent price point and features for such a small camera, makes all the others seem so dated.

Going by reviews I read this is a good and small camera. I purchased it on the strength of the reviews but it only has a cigarette lighter plug for power. I do not have a lighter socket in my car, only USB ports that will not power the camera. I have tried it. Plugging into a USB port makes the camera assume its plugged into a computer to upload/ download info. The only other way is to hardwire it into the car and I dont really want to do that. So, a good product that I cant use. Have been nice and given a yes to reliable performance on the strength of other peoples reviews. I comes with a lead with a USB plug but it is only to plug into a computer. This is a good product. I like the neat and simple design. With the black bezel around the lens it is very discrete, I mounted it behind my mirror and don't feel the need to take it out when I park. Other than that, so long as its plugged in, you can just leave it to do its thing. I added a larger HD card so that more gets recorded (easy to do). My only criticism would be the driver alerts which I find annoying. My TomTom does these much better. Also, if you have the camera top centre you don't really want to look at it too often to check what the alerts are. I just turned the sound down so that I don't have to worry about them. I didn't buy the camera for driver alerts. Other than that it does the job well.
This is my third dash cam. Two previous were not cheap ( around $100), but both failed and were below my expectations. Bought Garmin, installed yesterday. So far love it. Just feels solid and good quality product, cannot even compared to what I had before. Small, easy to use. Image quality is really good. Ran tests, performed as described and flawless. Love voice control and wireless downloads. It says that has speed camera warning. Have not check this yet. Will do it in the next few days. Will post my final thought in a few days. Cannot understand why parking mode cable for this dash cam so expensive ($50 - $70), for other dash can can buy for under $10.
This dash cam is very easy to setup and has an intuitive menu. Just know that you have to pay a yearly fee if you want the red light and speed camera option. The camera is small and looks nice on the windshield. I placed mine up high and just left of the rear view mirror. I purchased the parking mode power cable. This allows the cam to record when it detects movement in front of the camera. It has excellent photo and video quality. The only con is the voice control. It comes on all on it's own if there is music and or conversation going on in the vehicle. It doesn't do it all the time, just sporadically. It was so annoying I turned it off. So in conclusion, don't buy for the voice control feature.

By default the driver assists are set to on all the time at 100% volume this is very annoying because the lane departure keeps going off every ten seconds or so even though I'm in the exact middle of the lane and there is no one around me. Turn the camera off for even 2 seconds and you have to enter a pile of settings before it will record any video, extremely annoying. The latest version of the Garmin app will no longer connect to the dash can no matter what I try. Like I said everything was working well for a few months then now it’s pretty much an frustrating paper weight.
