Dash camera is a bit wonky, but useful. Set up instructions were also a bit hazy, as right out of the box, the unit did not recognize the included SIM card, which the instructions say "it should". The "History" channel markers for stuff to see could use a few more details. That being said, it's quite nice. Lots of features. But again, based on the above bits and the price, not quite 5 stars. Purchase during a good sale.

Besides having an inbuild Dash Cam, it also tells you where you are on the laneway as soon as you drift over the white line an alarm tells you that the car has drifted over towards the other lane. The other good think you can speak to the GPS instead of typing the address you want to go to, you can say it in English. You can also tell the Dash Cam to take video or a still picture while you are driving. When the GPS is parred with a smart watch it will give you road condition such as roadworks or accident etc. Red light camera is programmed in as well. It is not cheap but it can do a lot of things and I love it, I have had quiet a few GPS's from very cheap to very expensive 4 wheel drives ones, but this Garmin ... I have been using Garmin navigation products for a long time. Presently I have two on my windshield. This new Garmin has a forward camera and that is the reason I purchased it. It works well. The DriveCam came with a MicroUSB but it wasn't the largest one to use. I bought the maximum MicroUSB and that is a 256GB micro card. It was easy to install and now I have a much bigger amount of space to record. You can remove the micro card and insert it into you home computer and see all the videos it took. I drove for over fours hours on my last road trip and the amount of videos it gave me was many, many different ones. It also records all near miss collisions and that can be a lot if the drivers around you are idiots and in too much of a hurry. Great Device!

bought this one for the combination GPS and Dashcam. The navigation is so/so. On a raster type of road network, it gets seriously confused and doesn't give you the correct route. Display is ok, but warning: might be too big for smaller cars (sight lines outside).The provided SD card wasn't working properly, so Garmin Support sent out a new card after 3 weeks. (why so long?)Returned it because of the dashcam functionality.Note that it ONLY records 15 secs BEFORE and AFTER you press the "save button" or say "OK Garmin, Save Video". This makes the dash cam unusable in a practical situation.if you have an incident, it's practically not possible to hit the "save video" button within 15 secs and then only 15 secs is stored... so practically you only have a video from ... I bought the Drivecam 76 for a trip out of the country, and I went to load the new Maps, and after an hour of fighting with the thing, I gave up.The Drivecam 76 connects to the Internet, but you can’t download from the Internet into it. You have to download it on a computer and then put it on some kind of a chip and then put it in the unit you need to be an IT engineer to figure this out. It’s so 1980’s and then the Garmin Smart Link app says it’s incompatible with whatever blah blah blah. So my one star rating is based on my pathetic experience.

You can also add a Garmin 40/50 backup reverse camera which is also easy to setup (but may require professional installation). A possible drawback is the device is on the large side so you will need to find the right spot on your dash to avoid impairing your line of sight. You also want to make sure your camera is lined up properly or your lane assist will be going off when your nowhere near the lines. While you can control music through your Garmin; sound still comes out of the speaker of whatever device you're using. Overall for the price, I would've liked a few more ... I've had more expectation about this DriveCam.The Dashcam is brilliant unbelievable wide angle, I can take pictures while I drive beside continues recording.The navigation doesn't have the houses number on the map while I drive on the street.It cannot be customized to see on the side panel the statistic dates of the trip.The voice command is not very advanced, recognize only few commands.
I like the ease of use with the Drivecam 76. It understands my request very well. However, I only gave it a 3-star rating because of the mount. I also have the Garmin Drive Assist and the clip that mounts to the GPS can be reversed so I can use a window suction cup mount or a dash mount. I use my GPS primarily for work and I don't like having to mess with trying to put it on the windshield every day. I also don't like the rings left on the windshield from the suction cup. I just don't understand why you didn't design the Drivecam 76 the same as the Drive Assist 51. It looks like it would have been as simple as making a notch in the bottom of the case like the one on the top so the clip could be turned over. I have been using various Garmin DriveCam's for years. All vehicles are equipped to maximize safety and to memorialize events that makes the perfect eye witness account. This unit provides an even better capability with having an app to draw the data directly to my phone. It allows me to store events in a secure vault and locate my vehicle. With video and picture being so common today for evidence this GPS Camera is the perfect tool. You can hear all activity, records speed and location and the video and pictures are crystal clear be it low light or on a bright sunny day. This is a must have unit.
This is my newest DriveCam Garmin of 2 others that I own. This unit has really stepped forward my other units. The App feature are awesome from quick locate of your vehicle to being able to review video storage. In the days where video evidence is essential of accidents, crimes, or just seeing cool things during your drive. The screen pixels are the best that I have seen and the size of the unit is perfect for a mustang.
