Awesome unit. It is easy to use and you can fine tune it however you want depending on your skill. The transducer works well with this unit and is not oversized like some 3 in 1 units on the market are. I use this on my kayak and the side scan picks up and reads wonderfully. I would suggest to this to anyone no matter your skill level. Looking forward to adding Livescope to this unit in the future.
Excellent user interface, very easy to get to the screens you want to display and set favorites/quick buttons. Great GPS receiver, it found my location very accurately in my garage, and my in-laws garage. The display is very bright and clear, only had one case during the middle of the day when the sun over-whelmed it. The sonar was very clear and showed detail very well, also the pause and zoom while trolling was very quick to pick up on. Also the ActiveCaptain app made it really easy to register and check for updates and install them.
This unit has everything you need. Very intuitive controls. I bought the same unit when I bought my boat in 2015 and it’s been great. Bought this one for an upgrade to my second unit up front . The touch screen is a nice improvement.
Very satisfied. This unit replaces an Echomap that went with my boat when I sold it. Tried another name brand unit and found it lacking so I dumped it in favor of a new Echomap 73sv. The graphics are first rate and the operations are easy and intuitive. For me there was no comparison. I would recommend this unit to anyone.
Just purchased and installed this unit.Took it out this weekend for the first time and I’m super happy with this unit. 7” screen wise the first thing that I really liked opposed to the Lowrance 5”, depth finder works great and cartplotter is user friendly too.I have lots more playing around to do but my first impression is 5 star rating.
Seems to work well, crisp screen and lots of options with the UHD56 transducer. Easy to install and very intuitive. 7" is the perfect size for my 17' bass boat. Just right for mounting on the console. I'm a new boater and use it on a large Corp. lake without a lot of landmarks. GPS works perfectly and mapping helps me get around the lake and back to the boat ramp. Garmin does make it extremely difficult to register for warranty. I wonder how their warranty service is. Otherwise, a decent value for the money. OK you "pro" bass snobs, it's not a 12" that massages your back and ego, but it does a good job for a guy that wants to tool around and occasionally bring home dinner.
I looked at several fish finder / chart plotter combos. This had the most features I was looking for. I like Garmin anyway. It was pretty easy to install and set up. There were only a couple of issues. First, there are numerous expandable features, but it was difficult to determine what features are installed on this specific unit. Associated with that was the manual. It mentions all the features, but adds (if equipped). This made things complicated, especially for someone new to fish finders / chart plotters. Lastly, was the Clear Vu screen is not as clear as the sample shows. I've tried adjusting contrast and brightness, but it is still too dark.I compared the fish finding feature with an older fish finder and was amazed at the extreme close comparison. So far, ...
