I had the 945 for two years and whilst it's a great watch I prefer the 745 for a couple reasons. First of all the battery is smaller so less EMF on my wrist 24/7. Maps on 945 were cool but I usually run the same routes once I find a good route and if I wanna explore the breadcrumb course sent from my phone to my 745 is easy to follow. I love the watch exclusive watch face of the 745. It displays training load with a meter indicating whether you're under or over. Way better than counting steps as it reflects you're weekly training. The watch is also a little smaller than the 945 which feels more comfortable to sleep with and wear. Feels like nothing on my wrist running. The GPS is also slightly more accurate. I love this watch.

Click and Collect process was quick and easy and all the right information was found on the website. I have previously come into store and had some great service. The watch is brilliant and has definitely been a good asset to my training. I have found the band to be substantially better than the 245 Music, as it left me with a rash in my first month of wearing it, but the 745 has been brilliant straight out of the box.Is a touch heavier to begin with, but you get used to it. The interface is also very neat and metrics are easier to read and feel well in-tune with my training.

This is definitely an upgrade from the old 745 and 945 forerunner Garmin. The battery life is excellent, multiple sporting activities is everything you need as a runner, triathlon and swimming. The watch is comfortable, light for training, racing and everyday wear. Has accurate GPS tracking, pacing, cadence, elevation, training effect etc. Payment and delivery were so easy and quick. The service by Johnny Appleseed was amazing, thank you!

I have a small wrist but the fit is very good, not too big but just right. GPS connection is very fast. Everything works flawlessly. I tried 245 before but definitely 745 is much better. 245 was flimsy (bezel broke off after a month use). GPS connection on 245 was slower compared to 745. 745 feels sturdy. I was happy with 745 until I had to repeatedly charge every 4 days. It should have been every 6 days. I liked the watch so tried to manage it, but I run into a situation charge level was too low I had to wait for the watch to be charged enough to go for a run. Sadly I returned 745. I plan to try 945 LTE or 955. If you can manage the charge issue 745 is a great watch.

I tried a Forunner 245 for a couple of months last year, bad I was still not convince as my SGW3 was good enough for my level activity at the time. However, this year I'm training for half marathon, therefore I needed something better to accurately measure the distance and my performance. This Forunner was the perfect match for me. It's light, very powerful, got music and GPS, battery last around 7 days (around 5 hours GPS used per week). And plus, it gives me a lot of motivation, and good insights in my training. The watch has a lot of great features, is highly customizable, tracks every activity you can think of, and was easy to set up and sync with my wife's Connect app.The issue? Battery life. It barely lasts a day when training for a triathlon, and I have little faith in its ability to stay charged for the duration of actual races. There are many features you can turn off in order to extend battery life, but finding them all is a challenge, and finding useful documentation and recommendations on Garmin's site is difficult. Even following their battery saver advice, battery life while you are active is terrible. Again, for $500, there's no excuse.For what it's worth, I use the Garmin Instinct on multi-day backpacking trips with zero battery life issues, even when synced to my inReach and tracking.
I have been using Garmin for my running/swim & biking for many years and haven’t used any other. When my last watch the Forerunner 735 was getting old and as I was about to change to Coros, just called the Garmin customer service to see if they had any suggestions. I was told about the 745 and I sure did get one last month to see how it was any different. I really lived to its expectations with some fine features: extending the battery life, accuracy in heart rate, music storage, Garmin pay and so many other excellent options!!! I highly recommend this watch. Love it!
This thing is pretty cool. I wish the battery lasted longer. There are features you can disable that make it last longer, but that sort of defeats the purpose, yeah? It has helped me with my sleep and getting better sleep. It has helped me improve my health. It has been life changing and positive for me. Exactly what I was hoping for. A definite step up from the forerunner 45. The multi sport activities suit my needs exactly. Perfect size if the 945 / 955 will be too large for you.An ideal watch for someone looking to up their running distance and throw in some cycling and swimming in the mix too.Mainly upgraded so I had a watch with the independent music connectivity and the feature is very easy to use and exactly what you want.A great choice if you can pick up on sale. Still a solid competitor to the new line of Garmin watches.
This is my first smart watch. I use a Garmin Edge 530 for cycling but it is clumsy for recording non-cycling activities. I wanted a watch to do this, including walk, kayak and pilates. I also wanted to monitor heart rate throughout the day after some tachycardia episodes. These all work well. Other features I wanted were Garmin Pay and ability to play podcasts or music. I also like the bright colour. Garmin Pay is great. Podcasts not so much. I still have not found a completely satisfactory way to download podcasts. Neither the Podcast app nor Spotify managed to actually download a podcast. I've managed to use Garmin Express to move podcast files onto the watch but they show up as songs rather than podcasts and it's all a bit clumsy.
