I haven't installed on my boat but connected it all up , without transducer, in the hobby room.. I connected a class B+ AIS , and VHF radio/gps antenna.. AIS function is awesome !! Maps are fast to zoom in and out.. I am loving it.. I have an Airmar TM260 and GT15 I'll be installing for fish finding.. The simulator fishfinder looks massive compared to my smaller Echomap 44cv.. I had concerns about adaptability of TM260 (1k watts) transducer and contacted customer service - I was impressed when they understood exactly what I was talking about.. The gentleman even gave me the part number for the adapter cord needed.. In this day and age of customer service, that was refreshing... I also have their golf watch and love it, LOL... Great
Although this unit does a lot of things is not at all user friendly. Sad as I have been around a lot of Garmin units and they have always been easy to operate. Just try to go to a waypoint, the number of button presses it take is unbelievable. I now use this one as a fish finder and purchased a 942 for a GPS. It is unfortunately a touch screen which is difficult in rough seas but it is user friendly.
