Bought this for an elk hunt deep in Idaho with a group of guys hunting similar vicinity but not directly together. We had 3 755t’s between us. Range to talk to each other was advertised as up to 5 miles. We found the effective range to be approximately one mile. We were packed in 3 miles so battery life is important. One and a half days maximum battery life. Definitely need the AA extra battery pack if charging isn’t an option. When using the “walkie-talkie” feature, it often squelched VERY loudly despite changing the squelch settings and trying everything. I wasn’t impressed. I’d rather buy a regular moderately priced gps.

First off, I screwed up - I should have been more diligent, when at first I tried the unit and it didn't work I should have sent it back right away.... But I was told what to do to fix it and I never got back to it. But the advice I had was wrong. I did that when I first got it and then again recently - that didn't work.Recommendation: do not buy, if you do, immediately check the system out and don't accept a weak charge, personally, I think relying on a battery with know issues is not good when you plan on being out in the woods for a week and not knowing if you are going to be able to charge it the next day or the battery runs out after a few hours in the mountains...

Garmin's GPS works quite well while it worked.I was on day 11 of 14 of a hunting trip and the GPS stopped working with 56% battery remaining. I went through all of Garmin's online support recommendations and nothing worked.I contacted Garmin customer support who after a long conversation determined that because my machine was beyond one year old it was no longer under warranty and they could only offer me a 20% discount on a different machine. This GPS was essentially in new condition, and whatever is wrong is something with the electronics on the inside as the device will power on but does not go past the initiation screen. Device is not recognized in Basecamp.This is how Garmin loses customers for life do yourself a favor and just buy OnX.

The device itself is great. Instruction manual is terrible and some functions take multiple steps when it should be much less. I guess I am used to the thoughtful user interface of an iPhone. This is very different and more clunky. Also the Text function that was promoted in advertising never mentioned it is only 13 characters. I would return these if the store would take them back.
Good robust unit which suits the need for hunters, etc. This model does not come with a camera (that is the 750T) and bear in mind the global map that comes with it is pretty limited (I consider it useless) and I recommend purchasing a good quality topo map which allows zooming down to a low level. This doesn't have to be a Garmin product and Basecamp allows importation of external maps to an SD card. I use an external map which I bought for 1/10th the price of Garmin's. The walkie talkie provides clear line of sight reception and works well. Saves weight carrying a separate comms unit. Battery life is more than adequate for my purposes as I recharge overnight. Great design. Rugged. Great battery life. Gps and two way radio with an option of handsfree either blutooth or wired connection. Plenty of functions when it comes to software. Seems like Garmin thought of everything with Rino 750. Whether you're a hiker or a hunter you will find this piece of equipment very usefull. At the very least you will never get lost..

The screen is slightly larger than the 655t and the sensitivity is much closer to modern mobile devices (phones / tablets). The format is much more user friendly. It seems like they spent a lot of time to streamline this new product. The batteries are interchangeable between the 655t and 755t so I won’t need to purchase more spare batteries. The charging is now done through the micro USB so you have more charging options (solar or power pack through USB) rather than the weird round pin connector found on the 655t.The Not So Good:I can’t figure out why there is no battery life indicator on the “Classic” home screen. I can get a generic battery icon to show if you use an activity (Hunt) and swipe up. However it doesn’t show a physical percentage. The 755t is slightly larger overall than the 655t. Antennas are longer as well which leads me to my biggest gripe. When doing accuracy side by side I noticed the 755t isn’t as accurate. Through the boot up process of acquiring satellites and just letting the units sit on the patio table. The 655t would get 9ft. of accuracy where the 755t never got better than 18ft. I’m not sure if the new unit has the latest version of software so maybe an update will resolve this problem.
This product is great. Garmin is always top notch. We were out in the woods of western Washington hunting elk and my buddy lost his phone when we climbed over a downed tree. Didn't notice untill we were back at the truck. About 2 miles. We followed are tracks back and found his phone at 3/4 of a mile laying under the tree we climbed over. Very accurate tracking
Great unit, step up from my Etrex 22x, but it does not come with maps, but there is plenty of cheap options out there so look. the big touch screen is a plus and so is the radio but it does have the famous internal 'birdy' on Channel 40 which Garmin keeps saying they will fix with a software update but they never have. Overall a great unit hunting in the VIC HC.
I have been using the Garmin Rino series for a long time and they really make hunting fun...allowing you to easily find your partner. There are some nice features on this device ...I like the screen clarity, the map is actually usable. But there are a number of features the 650 has that the 755 bad needs:1. The navigation to a contact does not automatically update when the contact moves and updates position. This is a killer.2. Battery capacity is not evident.3.
