Great price for a great unit I'm amazed at the garmin products. I purchased the striker 4 for my catfish boat and decided to get the 7cv for my bay boat and have been very happy with quality and abilities.

I have everything hooked up & ready to try my new Garmin Vivid Fish Finder 7cv out. My battery needs to be replaced & these high winds need to calm down to less than 10 mph before I can take my boat out. I am excited about trying out my new fish finder.
I bought the CV version to save a $100 from the SV version thinking I could make my own contours. Now that I've seen SV in action, I would have spent the extra $100 to get the SV. I won't comment on the vivid series sonar - my unit had a problem and Garmin is allowing an exchange to a new model so I'll wait on that. I will say their service team has been very prompt and helpful. If for no other reason, I'll buy Garmin again for the service they've provided me through the exchange process.
Exactly what I expected. Am pleased with it so far. Would have loved to have had a better manual with it, but was pretty easy to find all the info I needed on the website. The more I use it the better I think it’s going to work for my application.
The first one we purchased did not work we got out on the lake and the system did not work - at all!! Ugh!! So we made it back home and spent 45 minutes disassembling everything. Frustrating! The second one works, but a person has to access YouTube to be able to interpret the screen. Garmin customer service is poor to average (poorer). No surprise there! I’d buy a Garmin again because they’re the best but expect to be disappointed!
This says track plotter which confuses people looking for a plotter.This only tracks you if you put in your waypoints.There is no installed maps, no option to install maps, no way to have maps unless you enter each and every part yourself.Basically map the whole lake yourself.There is a very poor quality wire connection on these units.If you have to keep removing the head unit from the boat to avoid theft, you will shortly damage these connections form the removal and reinstall process
