Awesome watch!

Originally purchased for the Applied Ballistics app to shoot PRS matches.Been using it for MTB. The stats are awesome and helps me fitness track.Although, heart rate monitor doesn't seem to work well at the gym when on the stair-master. Readings are way off. The elliptical seems to work better but still off. It's amazing how the watch can track heart rate on a bumpy MTB ride, but cannot accurately track HR during stationary exercise machines.Tip from Garmin is to do warmup before hitting up the gym to use stationary machines. Seems to kinda work. Galaxy 5 Pro watch has a similar issue, however the HR monitor works better and a bit more accurate. Both work fine when and are accurate while doing other sports activities.

This watch arrived fast. The package was excellent and in a sturdy box. The watch is beautiful, with loads of things you can do. I recently used it for a hike and mapped my hike us dwMAP app (better with premium). As I was trucking along the paths, my watch vibrated and looked at my watch, and I could see the arrow telling me that I was off course by a few feet. Once I got back on track, it was quiet. Occasionally I looked at the watch to see what it was doing, but it was tracking my every step and path. Very cool watch; I'm not new to Garmin as my previous watch was a Tactix Charlie. I agree it is overkill for the majority of folks. It works for me in my line of work.

GARMIN Tactix AMOLED
24 November 2023

I got the Garmin Tactix AMOLED version. The quality is amazing, tough and well constructed. Buttons are great as well. What really impressed me is the precision of the sensor for heart rate and O2 Sat, compared with my Garmin Fenix 5.The face or display is AMOLED with touch which is great compared to the transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP).Lots of features, more than I need, but this watch looks amazing!

Great product
3 May 2024

I upgrade it from the previous version and absolutely love! The new features are brilliant. I’m very happy with my purchase. The watch is tough, reliable and accurate with a long lasting battery.

Great product. Face is large
4 December 2022

Great product. Face is large and easy to read. Came out of the box a little dark for me but you can adjust the brightness. I got the screen protector bundle and it fits very nicely and has not come off or given me any problems. It’s nice peace of mind knowing it’s protected from scratches when you’re in the wood or running etc. For more reviews on the watch there a bunch of good YouTube videos showing features and things. Shipping from this site was fast and free. Came sooner than they said. Overall very pleased.

Not quite perfect

I've had my Tactix 7 Pro Ballistics Edition for about two weeks now and want to share my initial impressions.Things I like:* Features.* Battery life compared to other smart watches.* Looks.* Applied Ballistics. It's great having a range table on my wrist. I have other tools like a Kestrel Elite that provide the same information as well as the environmentals AE needs, but the watch is always with me while the Kestrel or my phone are not.Things I don't like:* The display is poor, the backlighting is dim even on its highest setting and lacks contrast.* The default nylon band is uncomfortable, scratches the finish of the watch, and doesn't maintain good wrist contact to allow the heartbeat and pulse oxidization sensors to work. It also costs US$ 150 if you replace/buy it separately -- yikes! Use the second, silicon band instead.* While the watch faces are somewhat customizable, the data you can assign to the watch face fields are limited to a subset of the data the watch collects. Many data can be assigned to one or two fields on the watch face, but not others. Other fields merely allow you to toggle the "Tactix" label on or off, wasting a large area on the watch face that could be used for something far more useful.* My watch records part of my daily commute as walking steps due to the uneven road surface, adding hundreds of steps to my daily workout stats. I have not gone on a long drive yet with the watch but shudder to think what that might do. There appears to be no way to tell the watch to stop counting "steps".* The solar ring doesn't collect energy from indoor lighting, which could prolong battery life.* The watch uses a charging/data transfer cable with a proprietary connector. I realize that the standard Mini USB connector may be unsuitable, but it's still a headache. I'm keeping the supplied cable in my car and got an aftermarket charging stand for home.Overall I like the watch, but there is definitely room for improvement.

This is the most feature
2 May 2024

This is the most feature rich watch out there, it is amazing easy to use looks fantastic feels great I am super impressed. I was hesitant because of the price but Play Better makes that a no brainer with their return policy, you have nothing to lose pull the trigger you will not be sorry I promise. Go with the Amoled is my suggestion you lose solar charging but gain way more IMO. I do not take mine off it’s so comfortable. I have never written a review in my life but for this situation the watch and Play Better I don’t want anyone else to miss out so JUST DO IT 😉

This thing looks great!
19 March 2023

This watch is amazing! I got it here on playbetter because of the return policy. So many times I wanted to send back to be fugal, but this thing is just too good! I won't need another one for 10 years! (That's my rationalization for keeping it. Haha. It if don't buy another watch for a few years it will actually save me money!) Currently training for my first spartan race with it and I'm an out of shape 45 year old. Well I was pretty out of shape a few months ago.

tactix 7 AMOLED - what a great watch
8 May 2024

Fantastic piece of kit, upgraded from a Fenix 6 and this watch includes everything that you may think you want and a lot of stuff that you did not imagine you would need until you start to use it. The battery life has become one of my life's small luxuries, never having to worry about it again during long training or events is wonderful.
