This is my first smart watch and I bought a Garmin as they have a good reputation for reliability and battery life. It is really accurate for everything except sleep tracking. That function is trash: it often mistakes when I am laying in bed desperately wishing I was asleep for 'light sleep'; it also sometimes mistakes my meditation practice for various stages of sleep. The battery life is AMAZING, the walking/hiking tracking totally accurate, as is cycling. It's really good to be able to see my stress responses and all the other tracking functionality it has. It integrates really well with Apple Health too. That said, I do a lot of calisthenics and I do wish I could record more than a 'strength training' session, but most of the individual exercises I do aren't ... MoreThis is my first smart watch and I bought a Garmin as they have a good reputation for reliability and battery life. (John Lewis were another story and seemed reluctant to honour the warranty...)All in, this is a great watch for the price. I am very happy with my purchase over time.

I bought this as a replacement for my Fitbit Versa 3 after their takeover from Google. I wish I’d bought this watch sooner!Getting used to having a watch above the wristband is an adjustment, but the watch is comfortable and never catches on any clothing. It’s also got a slightly smaller and more rectangle watch face than the fitbit which is great. The setup was slightly fiddly, but I can now go on runs without my phone and still listen to music! It was so easy to setup. Battery lasts at least ten days.I also love the emergency feature, so my partner gets a notification if I fall on a run - and sends him my location. The Garmin connect app is also very user friendly and their workouts are really good too. When you consider the price of this vs an Apple/Samsung ... MoreI bought this as a replacement for my Fitbit Versa 3 after their takeover from Google. Would highly recommend if you’re thinking of upgrading from a Fitbit like me.

Many smart watches are big for a woman to wear on her wrist. The Sq 2 is quite large but its liveable. The screen is a good size and the text isn't tiny. The battery life is good, lasting at least 1 week from a charge. The activity tracking is easy to use and accurate when compared with my Fitbit. I do wish the Connect IQ app (for watch faces and apps) was a bit more slick and easier to search but that's a minor inconvenience. While this is the music edition, I'm not using it for that was that makes the battery life a lot less, one of my main considerations for buying a new watch as my Fitbit battery died.

I am a former Fitbit customer. I had a Fitbit One for years and loved it but decided to upgrade and got the Fitbit Sense. I had it for a year when it died. It annoyed me that it only lasted a year but I liked it so I bought another one. That one died just after the 45-day period to get a refund. Fitbit sent me a replacement which also died. After 4 dead replacements, I gave up on Fitbit and bought the Venu Sq 2 and could not be happier. The watch is beautiful, has lots of great features (more than the Fitbit Sense) and the battery lasts well over a week before having to charge it. So far, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Venu Sq 2.
Only had this less than a week, so too early to tell really. Not sure it's spo2 is accurate (below 90 awake once...?!) and it says I'm stressed when I'm just fatigued, but it may improve as it gets to know me!First smart watch and it had good reviews for battery life and features so I'm trying it out.The strap is really soft compared to my Husband's Samsung watch and this one has quick release straps. Not enjoying wearing it above the wrist bone, but that's any smart watch.Overall seems good. Have used it for a couple of workouts.Strength didn’t pick up many reps on weight machines, so my son recommended leaving it on cardio!!! Seems to work on elliptical. Indoor bike also didn't pick up any distance. In conclusion, nice customisable face options, as ... MoreOnly had this less than a week, so too early to tell really. Impressed with the functions and has proven very useful very quickly! Really happy with the pregnancy tracking function!Helps a lot with baby brain being able to set and receive reminders. Weather and other metrics I use regularly are instantly accessible to me. Lightweight, comfortable strap, 'always on' function, good app and connectivity - messages come in straightaway and sync with phone is instant, extra watch apps in Garmin IQ app that have proved useful too like notes and maps, nice looking screen, smooth screen, good battery life. good settings. Simple to use but has so much for everyone's needs. Looking forward to setting up pay function. I have a very tiny wrist but it works fine. Worth the price!1 star off because can only reply texts/calls with ... MoreImpressed with the functions and has proven very useful very quickly! Worth the price!1 star off because can only reply texts/calls with Android phones not iPhones, and would have been nice to have more colour options, or at least hardware matching the bezel on the white option. There are replacement bands available however as the case colour remains white they are hard to match and they are pricey too.
I've had several Fitbits over the past 5 years, and they all seem to stop working after about 2 years. Customer service was meh and features without a paid subscription were very limited. When my latest Fitbit Charge screen stopped working after about 15 months, I decided to shop around for a different brand. I considered Apple Watch 7 and the Venu SQ2. My husband has an Apple watch and loves it, except for the short battery life, so I was very familiar with Apple and also live in the Apple ecosystem (macs, apple phone, ipad, etc). I ultimately decided to go with the Venu SQ2 for the battery life and more detailed breakdown of stats and workouts. I love my watch and it has helped me be more active. The app is easy to use and the level of detail for each of the areas the watch tracks is amazing. The only shortcoming was that none of the 8 banks I use work with Garmin pay, yet 7 out of those work with Apple pay. Garmin needs to catch up a bit in this area, but otherwise the watch was a great purchase!
I have been a Garmin user since 2007. Starting with the Forerunner 305 which I still have and uses from time to time. While a great runners watch it is not a great day to day watch. I got the Vivoactive thinking that would be the best of both worlds, however the case was weak and broke numerous times most of which were covered by warranty. Once out of warranty I searched for an option that was closer to a traditional watchband. The Venu SQ 2 was a wonderful option. The battery life is a solid 7 days if you use the gps and oxygen sensor. I use the gps 4-5 days weekly with my morning runs. Additionally, I use the oxygen sensor as I sleep nightly to better track my sleeping. The detailed information I get back on my stats is greatly appreciated and more valuable than ... MoreI have been a Garmin user since 2007. The detailed information I get back on my stats is greatly appreciated and more valuable than the information I get from my Oura Ring. While I prefer to not sleep in a watch, it is a small sacrifice because of the helpful information it provides. With the increasing cost of smart products, this one seems reasonable in comparison to other options in the market. Easy to use and well design.
This is my 2nd Garmin. Still a bit disappointing for the price after recently testing a FitBit Versa 4. The screen display (resolution/refresh rate/touch) is very bad for it's time. Very laggy at times with the most basic face on, the watch only has only OEM apps installed. What's really disappointing is that it has no speaker, mic, or step counter. For the steep price tag and being released September 2022 even for a fitness tracker this is pretty disappointing. Also not much covers, screen protectors to choose from. I like the Garmin brand, health apps, and tracking which it's known for but would not recommend this particular model.
I've only had the watch for about 3 weeks. Overall, I'm happy with the navigation (so far) and the readability of the screen. I got it to replace a FitBit Charge 4 that, for the life of me, I'll never understand how anyone uses it.In any case, the first time I had to charge it, the phone locked up and my husband had to resort to a Google search the unlock it and get it charged. Two weeks later (yesterday to be specific) I plugged it in and, once again, it wouldn't charge. My husband had to do a web search again to figure out how to reset it so it would charge. This shouldn't be happening on a brand new model of a brand new phone. My husband flies and much of his avionics are Garmin so I didn't find it curious when he complained during the first lock-up that the ... MoreI've only had the watch for about 3 weeks. My husband flies and much of his avionics are Garmin so I didn't find it curious when he complained during the first lock-up that the owner's manual was too long just to use a watch. If the instructions to resolve the two issues I've had are in there, it would take too long to find it.Garmin - my husband says you guys missed the boat on this one to have that many glitches out of the box.The only other positive is that the battery charge does seem to hold quite a long time, however, I'm not using the watch constantly and have not yet taken advantage of the music capability - and will probably never use it connected to my phone. Those who are not happy with the battery life may be using the Bluetooth function and location which - if you use it on your phone - you already know that it saps the battery dry pretty quickly.Would I buy one again? Most people I know have the Apple watch and I've heard no complaints about them. But that's a different animal unless you're in iPhone and iPad user. Based on early indications and weighed against watches in the price range, I'd say "yes" (but users shouldn't be experiencing these issues on a brand new Garmin device).I'll update this review over the next few weeks to let readers know if these issues continue or others arise.
