I have been a musician my whole life and gigging for more years than I care to admit. Gator products have been a steady, reliable product. This is my fifth keyboard bag - and the other four keyboard bags, all Gator! When you have a quality product, why have anything else! I also have two gator mixing board bags as well! To say I like this company is an understatement to be sure. Quality, value, price and longevity. Boom.

I just received my Gator GKB gig bag for my Yamaha P 125 and I just love it's heavy construction, zippers and padding. The bag is way better that what is offered by other manufactures with it's internal velcro padded straps to hold the piano safely in place when being transported or stored. The rubberized feet make it possible to stand on it edge while still protecting the content of the bag. I own other Gator products and I have always been impressed with the quality of materials, design and manufacture, all my Gator bags are like brand new and so are the instruments they protect. I would highly recommend their products to anyone who wants a reasonably priced gig bag to protect your instruments.

Sure-that doesn't sound real exciting from a marketing standpoint - but what's exciting about a gig bag? Or, would you rather be excited about having damaged several thousand dollars worth of keyboard? One gig for me without a bag for my arranger (which is out of production now) had me looking for some travel protection and this Gator Bag fit the bill. It's a generic universal size for most 61 keys, so double check your measurements for adequate fit. There's excess width for my Casio which I plan to fill with either original packaging or some cut foam for a good final snug fit. Either way, my next trip out will be less of a worry. Exterior zipped pouch is roomy with cargo net slot for more stuff. Interior has double velcro bands to hold unit in place - a good ... MoreSure-that doesn't sound real exciting from a marketing standpoint - but what's exciting about a gig bag? Great bag. I can fit my 88 key workstation in it. Very good construction, great fabric. Very thick so I feel my equipment is very safe. I will buy it again for my other keyboard.
I recently bought a Yamaha psrsx700 arranger keyboard from Sam Ash and need to transport it from home to church. So I not only need to transport it, but protect it during the trips back and forth. This bag is wonderful. It is well padded all the way around and also has two padded Velcro strips to hold the keyboard in place while in transport. The folks at Sam Ash gave me several choices of carry bags, this being the least expensive, but judging by how it's made, I would have expected it to cost way more.Thank you Sam Ash!
This is an initial impression review. Just used it to transport my prophet 6 to the first practice. Fits perfect! I wish there were back pack straps a la the nord electro gig bags. However, this actually feels sturdier and more protective than those, and a ton of pocket space! Only thing is if you are the kind who takes the show on the road and piles your and your bandmates' instruments in the back of the van, this is not the bag for you. Sure, your board might make it there and back okay, but nothing's going to guarantee protection like a hard shell (and heavier) case. So use this bag for what it is meant for (practice, storage, bopping around town), and use the hard case ones for touring.
I searched for the perfect size bag to fit my keys and to have nice big pockets to hold the accessories. This bag got that down perfectly. It has two very nice handles, but they are missing the wrap-arounds to hold the handles together. AND, the worst part: no shoulder straps and no provisions to attach your own straps. I attached my own strap to either side of the handles, but the spread isn't ideal! They missed the boat there. The zipper doesn't come around the bends with ease. From other reviews they seem to say they are heavy duty. We shall see, the corners might be weak points for the zipper over time. Seems like lots of stress happening at the bends. I'll repost after a couple of years, and let you all know how its doing.
I received a 76 key keyboard as a gift from my cousin. I've wanted one all my 60 years!! After getting it, it was HUGE. So I needed to store it in something. We called Sam Ash and spoke to a lovely man who went through all my options but said to be safe, I should get this gig bag. It was literally shipped overnight and it is a very well-made, good looking gig bag. My only problem with it is I wish I could stand the keyboard up on its side against the wall, like my guitar, to get it out of the way in my bedroom, but no gig bag is made for that I guess. Now all I have to do is learn how to play the darned thing!! Sam Ash does offer lessons, I asked. I'm on the list as soon as they start giving lessons in the store again. May be a long time!
Overall:Moving keyboard equipment is a couple of notches less irritating than moving drum equipment, so a good case is important. When I first unpacked the case, it all looked good. Well made zippers, convenient exterior zippered compartments, great for cable and accessories. The construction seemed sound and the interior and a couple of nicely padded velcro straps. The first clue that something was off was when I put my keyboard in. Now, I'm sure not every 76 key keyboard is the same size, but this bag is so much bigger than my keyboard at first I though I was mistakenly sent the 88-key bag. There is way too much wiggle room. But wait, there's more.... Once all was zipped up, I grabbed the two well made straps, stood up, and...The bag hit the floor. Really? I'm ... MoreOverall:Moving keyboard equipment is a couple of notches less irritating than moving drum equipment, so a good case is important. When I first unpacked the case, it all looked good. So now I have to *lift* the bag in order for it not to drag on the ground. Really? Did someone in R&D not test the bag before putting it into production? As a woman moving around equipment, I have limited arm strength.Okay - another little setback. No problem. I'll just use the shoulder strap then. Oh wait. There's no shoulder strap. So, for about 100 bucks I have a bag that doesn't fit well and drags on the floor. Unfortunately, I didn't need to take the keyboard out of the house until after my guarantee period expired. Lesson learned.
