Awesome product! When I have to "wrench" on something I like to use a deep socket. To me they are more comfortable and I feel there is less chance I am going to bust a knuckle. But deeps don't always work and that is where this set really shines. Has all the advantages of a deep set ( with a little less depth) and none of the shortcomings of a shallow socket. These mid-length sockets are some of the best Mid-lengths you can buy. They are just long enough to get past a stud and right onto the nut. The sockets grip on tight and I feel confident saying that they wonât round any bolt off.The markings make it easy to identify which size you need. They are big and prominent.They have become my go to socket when I donât know what depth Iâll need on service calls and the rail the sockets come with, wonât let the sockets fall off.The broaching is deep enough where it completely cover the nut and stud, or bolt youâre trying to get off.10/10 would recommend to anyone

These are very handy sockets with the mid length size. I have these in both metric and SAE sizes in the 3/8 drive. Very handy length without using an extension or a true "deep well". Everything about them was thought out - right down to the organizer - holds the sockets without being a PIA to get another size while your hands a slick with oil. I bought these when they were "cheap" (about $30 a set) and have loved them. I bought my son a set to keep him out of mine and he likes them too. Have never broke a stripped one yet - even with ridiculous cheater bar lengths and occasionally finding them on an air wrench.

These mid length sockets are great when tightening a nut where the protruding bolt length prevents using a standard socket, and there is not enough clearance for a deep socket. These are especially useful when tightening acorn nuts.In the attached pictures I compare these mid length to standard and deep sockets, all 10mm Gearwrench sockets. The overall length of the standard is 0.9875", mid length is 1.8105" and the deep is 2.5".
This is my first set of medium length sockets. Iâm so glad I have them now, they came in real handy when I was replacing the rear brake pads on my car. The length was perfect to get my knuckles away from the caliper but not too far that the ratchet hit the control arm. Thatâs fit exceptionally well on the bolts, nice thin sidewall for tight spaces. Sometimes you need a little bit longer socket, but not so long that it doesnât fit the available space. These are quickly becoming my first choice for any automotive maintenance, as they fit most circumstances, minimizing trips back to the tool chest. I wrench on a variety of equipment and I am finding more places these come in handy now that I have them available. Lifetime Warranty!
Listed as a mid length socket set, to be honest, almost full length. May come in handy in any case, but not really a mid length in my opinion. The sockets themselves look very nice, and always good to have a 6 point set of sockets. Chrome looks real nice, and the storage rack is very nice. Its a great set, just not exactly a mid size, again in my personal opinion.

What really stands out is the knurling at the base of the sockets. It grips well and creates a thumb wheel ratchet feature in tight quarters. Chrome plating in the Marine industry is a must. Salt water and other materials take a big toll on tools, I have yet to see any issues with rust. The fitment on these sockets are impressive. Most engines we have are applied with painted fasteners. The Gearwrench Mid-Length sockets grip on the flats instead of the corners, creating a secure fitment without the headache of getting stuck. Iâm a diesel mechanic and half the time a deep is too long and a shallow is too short. These are right in the middle and high quality steel so they arenât bulky at all. Great visibly for the size and knurling on bottom to keep from slipping out of hand. Socket rail it comes with is great design and size to the point you donât have to go buy a new rail to store them. Just open package and sit in your tool box and use like them like any other socket.
