GearWrench 9416 16-Piece Metric Ratcheting Wrench Set
The GearWrench 9416 12 Point Metric Ratcheting Combination Wrench Set features a ratcheting box end requiring only 5° to move fasteners. This ratcheting mechanism provides speed and precision, moving fasteners with the ease of a fine tooth ratchet. Long bolts and threaded rods are no problem for these wrenches—the ratcheting head allows the wrench to travel the full length of the threads without removing or readjusting positioning on the fastener.

Amazing quality. I have had these wrenches for 3 months now and they have been through hell with no problems. I frequently beat on both sides of the larger wrenches with a 4lb sledge with no problems. In my opinion these are as good as any wrench you can buy And much cheaper than the tool truck brands. The only downfall is they fit a little loose in the case so you can’t carry it by the handle, they must be flat when transporting them.

First of all I hate when people write reviews about tools they just got in the mail. They're meaningless. Please don't do that.I bought this set August 1st, 2019 and today is September 30th, 2020 today. My review is thus based on a year of heavy DIY level use for my Land Rover rebuild. Right? This has been my only wrench set used for that purpose. They've been used very steadily and I've beaten on them.During the last year I've been working through a Land Rover rebuild which is first of all metric, with 6 and 12 point bolts of all sizes which are often rusted or huge or original or all the above. I've gone through the chassis, axles, hubs, the diffs, and pulled the engine, transmission, and the transfer box. Again this is the only combo wrench set used on that ... If I have to use a manual tool it's this or a socket. The open faced side never gets used but the ratchet's have all held up extremely well. None have slipped a tooth or broken. No rusting or dust in the gears even with water or grease. The only maintenance they've gotten is being wiped clean before they're put away. I think a good tool is obvious when you instinctively reach for that tool instead of another option and I'm more than satisfied with the tools themselves.I do have an annoyance and that's the case. It's garbage and the smallest sizes always fall out. I'm giving it a 5/5 b/c people give 3/5 stars for dumb things and I am confident I've used this set far more than most people writing reviews here. Hope this helps.

Going over them briefly after receiving them the ratcheting teeth seem fine for all except the 20mm. The teeth are catching on something once every full rotation. Not sure if this is going to be an issue in the future but we shall see. They all fit nicely in the hand and feel like a decent quality. None of mine seem to have any defects cosmetically.

I bought these based on the fact that GearWrench has a pretty good reputation (and I can't afford Snap On since I don't make my living turning wrenches). In very little time while working on a 1948 John Deere Model AW, both the 1/2 and 9/16 ratchet wheels came out of the wrenches (I know, I know, you should only use pipe wrenches, adjustables, and hammers on old tractors....). I was able to re-assemble the wrenches, but both popped out again in a very short time. It seems as if any moderate side loading (not pulling exactly perpendicular to the bolt axis) on the ratchet wheels cause them to pop right out. I bought these as part of a large set even though I have a Snap On ratcheting combination wrench (1/2X9/16) that I bought 40 years ago (nobody else made ratcheting ... I bought these as part of a large set even though I have a Snap On ratcheting combination wrench (1/2X9/16) that I bought 40 years ago (nobody else made ratcheting box wrenches back then) when most of my work was on American muscle cars and I needed a wrench for the ever popular 5/16 and 3/8 bolts that would go where a ratchet wouldn't fit - and the 40 year old Snap On STILL works like new - even after 40 years of my abuse. I recently bought new GearWrench SAE and Metric ratcheting sets because a lot of my work these days are on newer cars (not just old tractors) where under hood (or under anywhere, for that matter) clearances are a lot tighter. Ratcheting box wrenches just fit in a lot more places than ratchets! Anyway, the GearWrench ratchet mechanisms seem to work well in general, just be very careful to pull straight (which ain't all that easy to do in some situations!).
I first started going absolute HAM on Gearwrench box wrenches when repairing wind turbine gearboxes. These wrenches are incredible!!! Bang for your buck you can't go wrong, but it should be noted that the engineers who designed the handled carry/hang cases for their wrenches totally IGNORED Gravity!!! If you want to hang them on the wall you'll need to flip the trays upside down (as pictured) or your wrenches will keep falling out.
I was very excited to get these, and promptly bent the 13 mm slightly in the first hour of use. They’re nice to have in a pinch for sure but won’t replace the need for a standard wrench which I don’t care for. I need my tools so I will have to wait to send the 13 for replacement. I will say, the gears are fine just the handle that bent.
I've had a set of these Gearwrench ratcheting combo wrenches in my toolbox for months now and I picked this set up to get the larger sizes. I love these wrenches. I work in a mechanic's shop and these things have never let me down. The ratchets can take some good torque without much problem. Very seldom, but sometimes the ratcheting action gets stuck/won't move, but I've found that a whack/drop on the ground gets it back to working instantly. By seldom I mean I use these wrenches ten hours a day, five days a week since last November and I've encountered that happening maybe three times. The wrenches are comfortable in the hand and I've never had a problem with using them. I much prefer the feel of them over my coworker's MAC set and they're at least on par with the feel of my other coworker's Snap-on set, plus neither of them are ratcheting.I would definitely recommend these to anyone who needs a good wrench set. They're comfortable, easy to use, and have stayed strong over months of absolutely nonstop use and abuse. That, coupled with Gearwrench being a Craftsman brand, mean that if they ever do somehow break, mean that these can be warrantied out anytime at any Sears and most Advance Auto Parts as well. Absolute 5/5, I'm incredibly satisfied with these wrenches.
LOVE THIS RATCHETING WRENCH SET!!!!! I bought this set from eBay a while ago & I'm so happy to have a wrench set that covers every size that is needed. The ratcheting feature is so nice as you don't have to pull out the socket set nearly as often now that I have this set of wrenches. I realize they're not heavy duty like Snap On or other industrial grade wrenches, but these are beyond handy for around the house tasks like changing mower blades, oil changes for cars, removing bolts that require several turns of a wrench, etc. Again, the fact that every size (including larger sizes of 22MM & 24MNM) are covered, there's never a size that you can't fit with this set. Worth every penny & I'm so glad I splurged on this wrench set!!!!!!
Love theseThey are great value i love the XL size for torque. But be weary their XL size almost killed me :)I was replacing a battery and as i was tightening the positive the wrench made contact with the negative terminal and it was a 4th of july extravaganza!!! I almost welded the wrench on the battery and luckily i did not shock my self!Besides my user stupidity these wrenches are awsome.
Purchased these wrenches about a month ago, and have used them daily. I mostly use these for alignments and suspension work. The ratcheting assembly is pretty smooth for the price, but is by no means the same quality as your snap on or Matco ratcheting wrenches or even the 120 gearwrench model. Now, having said that, I assumed that going into it - and with a price of sub 100 dollars they are a steal and a better purchase than the 3-400 hundred dollar set off the trucks. This set goes up to 24mm which is perfect for the alignment rack. I would recommend this set to any technician using tools professionally, and daily.
