Geo. F. Trumper Extract of Limes Shaving Cream Bowl 200g

Yesterday I gave this product 1 star but tried it again today. I found given how soft the cream was that the other day I had loaded my brush too much. Generally with my other shaving creams they are harder in texture and require more soap. Today I tried with much less and it was a much better experience with a good bountiful amount of lather. I still think the aroma is a bit chemically and not a clean lime like smell so that is why it get's 3 stars but certainly from a lather point of view it did a nice job. Also the green colour is a bit off putting which again is why it earned 3.

A timeless classic

The very first ‘posh’ shaving cream I ever bought and remains an absolute classic from George F Trumper. The West Indian Limes leave you zinging first thing in the morning. Lime in colour, it wakes you up like no other shaving cream and puts a bounce in your step. All it requires is an amount the size of the top joint of your pinkie finger and that will give you more than enough cream to lather-up with a shaving brush. I cannot praise it enough, after my very first shave using this, I just knew that there was no going back to a 99 p can of gel from a supermarket. It is easy to lather with all synthetic, boar, badger and horse hair brushes that I have tried; provides abundant lather; has a mild scent; doesn't offend my sensitive skin; provides ample cushion against the razor blade; is slick; maintains residual slickness when the lather is brushed aside with a finger so that the contour of a mustache might be observed while shaving; rinses cleanly and easily; comes in a large and attractive tub; and, without scrimping, lasts for 90 or more four-pass daily shaves.For those unfamiliar with this product, an additional point needs to be noted. Over the years, the tub packaging has changed. The changes include the present absence of the interior dual plastic tub liner. I infer that this liner was found to be redundant or an unnecessary cost. I disagree. The absence of the dual liner means that the product sometimes may arrive dry, that the lid sometimes may be unnecessarily more difficult to remove, and that the tub sometimes may appear to be less filled than another tub filled with the same product. If so, I have found that the addition of a few drops of water quickly will restore the product to all its glory.

Excellent, highest quality, shaving product!

This is an excellent shaving product. It is made of fine ingredients and easy to use, with or without a brush. Although I strongly recommend using a shaving brush, it can be applied satisfactorily with the tips of the fingers for an extremely smooth, clean shave. The fragrance is pleasant and not over powering. I highly recommend this product over any other shaving gel or cream.

Finest Shaving Cream Bar None

I have been using Trumper's Limes Shaving Cream for about 20 years. With occasional exception, I've used it almost daily for most of that time, with both modern (two and three blades) and double edge safety razors. I've used it with a low-end boar brush, premium badger brushes, and most ecently with premium boar and premium badger brushes. The performance of this shaving cream gas been consistently outstanding. And despite my extreme sensitivity to smells, the lime scent was mild and not overpower over-powering. When it's time to make a gift of shaving cream, I routinely order a tub of Trumper's Limes. It delivers the smoothest, closest and most pleasant shave bar none. Geo F. Trumper Limes Shaving Cream, Large Tub

The depiction in the photo shows a beautiful lime green cream, but mine is much more of lemon color. The scent is very, very mild, and you want to imagine fields of lime - but it just isn't happening. If the lime scent is what you are after, this simply isn't it. However. If you are looking for an extremely rich and luxurious lather, then look no further. It whips up easy and extremely quick either in a mug, hand or face. I've used it with a pure, best, and silvertip badger, all were effortless in getting a great lather that lasted for 3 passes ( mug, obviously :)). Didn't fall flat, nice and slick, exploding volume, great cushioning. I have a den full of other soaps and creams, but this is my favorite without doubt. My new go to shave cream!

I’ve tried many soaps and creams over the years. I’ve tried the old school ones and the new artisan types that are popping up like micro breweries. I have found the older types have given me a much better experience than the new ones. Out of all of them Geo F. Trumpers is hands down the best. I will be buying more scents in the very near future and will probably toss all of the artisan soaps I’ve bought. The proof is in the lather and smoothness of the shave. By far better than the rest!

Superb Shaving Soap

Arrived early, well and safely packaged. The soap is the best shaving soap I have ever used, and I have been wet shaving for 55 years. Superb product. Wish I had found this years ago.

The lengths I've gone to

I was first introduced to the Geo F Trumper shave cream back in 1992 or three at the then only Art of Shave Store on Madison Avenue in NYC. As a man with very sensitive skin and an aversion to shaving, this was god send. The smells are great, the cream is not oily, nor does it overly coat your face. I've bought this at the actual shop in London when I worked for an English company, and have had it shipped directly from England. I am very happy to see that you are carrying it now. The perfect morning treat

This has been my favourite shaving cream for years. It may not be the most impressive Trumper cream in the glide and cushioning department, but its moisturising properties are second to none. The lather it produces is generous and thick, making it ideally suited for face lathering. The consistency of the cream is on the softer side - though by no means runny - so it can also be applied without a brush. A little goes a long way, so this tub should last your for ages, making it excellent value for money. After all these years, I still marvel at the rich rosy scent and deep pink colour. On the flipside, it is heavily pigmented and will turn your brush pink.
