I feel naked without a few basic things in my pocket. A knife, scissors and screwdriver are the bare essentials. It would be great to be carrying a leatherman charge all the time for all the stuff it can do but it's just way too heavy. Swiss Army Knives (SAK) are great but the knife doesn't lock and the steel is a bit soft. The gerber armbar looked very interesting because it has the basic tools I need, in a package similar to a medium SAK but with a locking knife that opens one handed and a bit driver for the screwdriver. The scissors work fine enough but aren't the stand out. There is a very good bottle opener/pry tool and the useful more often than you realise, awl. Styling and finish are nice but it does have a few hot spots. They should have rounded off the corners of the bottle opener. It's a shame it has neither a pocket clip or a lanyard hole. The back spring on the screwdriver is bit weak. All up it's a great and very useful take on a multitool and definitely worth the money. If they improve it with better steel and a few refinements to the scissors etc, I'd buy that version in a heartbeat.

The knife arrived sharp enough, but the corkscrew is much smaller than I anticipated. All in all, it's a nice EDC pocket folder. It's roughly the same size as a Swiss army knife, but with less blades and tools. The scissors are big which is nice, and the main blade is made of good steel although it's not really clear what it is. Build quality is good for the price, but I'll have to try it more to be certain. It's a cool tool to keep in your car or your backpack in case you need to pop open a bottle of a Grand Cru de Bourgogne (just kidding, it's not the kind of wine I'll wiggle around on a picnic). It's not the best tool for the price, a basic SAK will give you more quality for roughly the same amount of money, but not all of them have the corkscrew at this price range.

great tool, slick design. I have the drive version and love it, for its compact size yet provide all key tools I need around the house. Esp. the hammer for light smashing tasks. Note two potentially problems: the access to tools requires nail, which can be annoying for some. The access to scissors is a bit cumbersome and strange. You have to pull a 180-degree-in-open-position scissor out, close it, then use it. I sometimes feel like I almost cut myself when trying to put the scissor away or take it out. Although in reality the scissor blade is not sharp enough to cut your finger easily, it is an annoying sensation.

Executive summary: If you can get it for under $30 you'll be very happy. It's utilitarian and has a small, useful repertoire of functions.I've used a Swiss Army knife for years. I've never been satisfied with a multi-tool. Multi-tools that are actually functional are too big to put in your pocket. The SAK has a toothpick. This knife is almost a SAK. It's pocket sized, same size as my SAK. Except for the tooth pick it has everything I want: Blade, phillips and flat screwdrivers, and functional scissors. The blade is a powder metallurgy variant of 420HC stainless. That means it's not as hard as a high end knife, but it's not nearly as expensive. Out of the box it had a sharp edge so it should be possible to sharpen. Third party reviews say that the blade has been ... MoreExecutive summary: If you can get it for under $30 you'll be very happy. Third party reviews say that the blade has been titanium nitrided. I tried a file on it and it skated on the surface so there is some kind of surface hardening for sure. The screwdriver is a magnetic bit holder with a flat/phillips bit. It's 1/4" so you can substitute your own. The scissors work. They're meant for paper more than anything else, but the spring works as well as the SAK, and much better than the one in the scissors on the leading brand of multi-tool. There's an awl and a bottle opener too. The awl looks good for cutting the tape on cardboard boxes.
for the money I spent, I am not happy with it. American made usually stands for exceptional quality and standards but in this case, I was underwhelmed with my new piece of kit.The engraving, I shouldn't have got that it sits in the wrong position aesthetically it looks squint so it bugs me and I can't sell the knife on.I am not a big man at all but even for me getting the blade out and holding it correctly is hard - This is for a person with small hands, look at the sizes carefully when you get this.I received mine in good time but there was damage or a poor finish to the end of the handle again detracting from the overall standard and the blade was scratched and didn't look finished to the usual USA standards.I have 6 knives two axes and a machete from ... Morefor the money I spent, I am not happy with it. I just got the Gerber ArmBar Cork for a mates birthday, I like Gerber just not this knife.
Just what you need to get you out of trouble. I have been using it as my daily multi tool at work. The blade holds its edge well and is easy to sharpen. The only thing this tool needs is a pocket clip. My workmates and I get great use out of the bottle opener on a Friday afternoon, after clocking off.
I have EDC the Gerber Armbar for over 6 months since purchasing it. I must say it has a great tool set and in a very compact package that is easy to carry in the 5th pocket of your jeans. My only small complaint is that the CenterDrive style screwdriver is non-locking. Otherwise a really really great EDC tool !
Good sized knife for its size. It’s a pain to put away if you have large hands.Excellent driver bit. Doesn’t lock but the lock back mechanism is strong enough that it won’t shut on you during use.Overall ok for regular use/daily carry
So first off the ordering process for this was awful. I didn't even get a confirmation after I ordered it and then 2 weeks later with no update or tracking info I reached out and all I was sent was a USPS tracking number that was never updated. Overall took about 6 weeks to get the product, but this is not related to the product, just really poor service provided by the company. So the tool, I bought it for work as just a little go-tool that uses drive bits so I can easily work on wheelchairs. The bit driver is great, the knife is okay not really a great edge or ability to hold edge. The scissors are trash, the first half of the scissors are unable to even cut paper due to the max depth that you can depress the handle which bottoms out against the body of the tool. ... MoreSo first off the ordering process for this was awful. The scissors are trash, the first half of the scissors are unable to even cut paper due to the max depth that you can depress the handle which bottoms out against the body of the tool. If you are cutting something as thick as cardboard it works, however, then you have to deal with how much force is needed to press the scissors through the material so overall pretty much useless. I gave it an average rating because I was really only concerned about the bit driver and the portability of that specifically.
Perfect tool for somone needing more than just a knife blade. Knife is sharp and it has come in handy multiple times. Small enpough to carry in my front pocket and enjoy the flexibility it gives me to fix things. Solid purchase! I would highly recommend.
