I just got this a few days ago and have already found so many years uses for it! First thing I noticed was how small it is, I was surprised at first because it is tiny and very lightweight, but then was so glad because I threw it into my purse and take it everywhere with me. It is amazing how many times you are out running errands and realize this tool is exactly what you need. I ice skate a lot and have been able to adjust the screws on my blades, cut yarn when crocheting, cut open food packaging after a quick grocery shop, and pried open a toy to replace the batteries for the kids. This tool feels really well made and has all the options I need for odd jobs around the house and when out and about. It will definitely be a staple to keep in my purse from now on!

I have two, since LM discontinued the Squirt. The Squirt stretched into medium duty tasks without strain. So far, I've only used my two Dimes a couple times, and the Philips driver has already bent from a medium duty task. If you need a pliers at this size/weight, there's little competition. I would consider this good for light duty tasks, and expect to replace it every so often if you use it for medium duty tasks relatively frequently. Funny enough, I actually prefer the Gerber Curve if you don't need the scissor or pliers, and the Curve is 0.8 Oz, even lighter than the Vic Bantam.

Great tool for what it is. It is very small and works well on small projects. I use it to work on electronic projects. It's not something you can use to wire your basement. The package opener is a nice touch. I use it more than any other tool. The bottle opener works very well. The screw drivers, knife, pliers and scissors work OK for small jobs. The file is small and blocked by the bottle opener and lanyard ring and is almost useless. Overall, the quality seems pretty good, and it should last if you use it as intended.

I really like it - primarily because of its size and weight. I wanted a small set of pliers for fiddly jobs and this fits the bill. Yes, you can get bigger pliers on many multitools, but those tools are often a bit too big to be comfortable and they often come with a large locking blade - which makes them illegal for everyday carry here in the UK. The Dime has a small blade and a package opening tool, as well as scissors and screwdrivers; which makes it perfect for most tasks around the house or even when I am out.Obviously, this isn't designed for major DIY jobs or large cutting tasks, but I have other tools for those situations. There are Swiss Army knives (SAK) that come with small pliers, but pliers are only available on a few models with a large number of tools and layers. This makes them very bulky to carry and more cumbersome and inefficient to use. There is little point to a multi-tool, no matter how compact and convenient, if it makes the task more difficult than it needs to be. However, the pliers on the Gerber Dime are a main feature and are perfectly in line with the central axis of the tool; also, the handles are large enough to give you very good purchase while gripping small items. The spring is very robust and seems extremely unlikely to break or slip out of its setting. If there is a fault with this tool it is that the scissors could be sharper - they will cut paper easily, but they tend to chew through items like paracord, leaving a ragged edge. The scissors on my Swiss Army knife are much sharper and have more "bite" and will cut paracord cleanly. Nevertheless, this Multi-Tool makes a great companion to the SAK and means that both tools can be as small as possible. I haven't had many opportunities to use the Dime yet, except for opening a few packages. I have discovered that the bottle opener works really well.
I bought the Dime to replace another I had bought a few years ago. I over-leveraged the pliers and bent it slightly. It still works ok but it's not as smooth an action as it once was. All the tools are useful and it's a very handy 'carry-everywhere multitool and I used it a lot.My only negative about it is that the scissors have been made left-handed which I guess is great for 10% of the population! However, I can still use them by twisting my thumb over the back. A minor issue. The plastic tape cutter is a really excellent addition too.Overall, this is a great little device for a very reasonable price. Recommended.
This is a great option for a small EDC multi tool (every day carry). Although it isn’t near as beefy as its larger siblings, it is still very thought out and has decent functionality. Because of its size, I carry it daily in the watch pocket of my blue jeans.Tow big bonuses are the external bottle opener that can be used without “opening” the tool up. The “package opener” is an awesome tool that the competitors don’t have. I was surprised how often and useful the “package opener” is, especially when opening those pesky bubble packs that the big box stores so often package their mass-produced items in.The downside, which comes from it’s compact size and weight, is that it won’t perform well during heavy duty jobs - for this you will need a full size multi tool or ... MoreThis is a great option for a small EDC multi tool (every day carry). I have a large Wagner (excellent quality, similar to a Leatherman) multitool, relatively heavy for daily use yet still it's always with me. I searched for a small pocket one I can carry in an office and home environment for little jobs like cutting things open, bending a wire, opening a bottle or can, scissoring paper etc. and the Dime is ideal for that. Can it be improved? Oh yeah. Dur to the Dime's compactness the tools are tricky to open out, particularly (I imagine) if you don't have strong fingernails (I have short, strong nails so it's OK). The tools have a small indent to hook the nail under and push up which are tricky to see and engage. Deal breaker? No - but it could be a little easier. The Gerber Dime 12-tool multi-plier is an impressive compact tool that excels in versatility and design. Weighing in at just a few ounces, it fits easily in your pocket, making it a great companion for everyday tasks and outdoor adventures alike. The variety of tools—including pliers, scissors, and multiple screwdrivers—are surprisingly robust for such a small package. The addition of a bottle opener is a nice touch for camping trips. The build quality feels durable, and the stainless steel construction ensures it can withstand daily use.One of the standout features is the ease of access to the tools, which can be opened with one hand, making it practical in a pinch. I don't have a blue-collar job so I don't use tools often enough to need one of those huge, bulky multitools. I wanted something with scissors AND pliers as well as the usual knife blade, screwdriver tips, etc. Gerber really put a lot of thought into this design. It's so small yet so versatile. I do have large hands, and it can be uncomfortable to hold the pliers for a long time because they're so small, but it's fine for just a second here and there. I actually originally bought this for my wife and we both loved it so I bought myself one. Al's had a better price than I've seen anywhere (at least since inflation). I just thought it was strange that the green one was cheaper than other colors. 🤔
Gerber Dime Pocket Multi-Tool is super handy for such a small tool. It’s compact enough to keep on my keychain without adding bulk, but it still manages to pack in a lot of functionality. The pliers, scissors, and screwdrivers have come in clutch more times than I expected. I’m especially impressed with the scissors—they actually cut well, which isn’t always the case with multi-tools this size. The pliers are solid for light tasks, and I use the bottle opener pretty often too. It feels sturdy and well-built for everyday use. I’ve used it for tightening screws, opening packages, and little things like that, and it’s held up perfectly. I wouldn’t try anything heavy-duty with it, but for small tasks, it’s awesome. The best part is how portable it is. I love that I can ... MoreGerber Dime Pocket Multi-Tool is super handy for such a small tool.
