The package came in fast and no damage. The knife is both bigger in the open position and smaller in the closed position than I was expecting, which is amazing for me. It’s exactly what I need. I wish it didn't have the small screw, but hopefully it will last longer than other utility knives that had fast exchange blade. it seems to be easier to keep clean. other knives I had probably got saw dust and pocket lint inside the blade area and that's probably why they stopped holding onto the blade. after blowing them out they sometimes worked but my last 1 the blade ended up in my pocket. That's why I wanted to try this out. My friend has the older non Lite model and he has been using it for over 10 years, I think. I love this black coated 1.

Best EDC utility knife u can buy

I tried multiple folding utility knives to carry all the time and use for anything light duty. This knife is the one I always grab. The wide clip and thin profile is non intrusive in ur pocket. A dime fits the little screw perfectly and changing the blade is really not a big deal. It’s stronger than u think.

This is the best all around utility knife that you can carry in your pocket on a full time basis. I have been carrying one of these for many years now and just now lost one(it was actually stolen). Great utility knife!

I have had the first version of this small utility knife for many years and love it. I like the newer version even better. the hinge has sell slop and there is a better finger guard just behind the blade. The newer version has the 3 slots in the handle. There are lots of larger versions of folding utility knives out there but I needed small for carrying in my pocket most of the time. Being small I do loose track of it sometimes and this is the reason i got another one so I would never be without one. I minor downside is the tiny screw holding the blade in place is a little hard to work with do to its tiny size and I have dropped it and almost lost it several times. As I mentioned before, this blade has a wide variety of use cases. You could easily carry this for self defense, it's compact, fits just about anywhere, and you could easily conceal it.This knife comes with a premium razor blade. That is something to consider if you're planning to change out the blade. Your average thin, light duty razor blade isn't going to be ideal for use with this knife. You'll want to get the thicker premium blades if you want them to fit the knife like the one that comes with it out of the packaging.I would rate this knife a 5. It exceeded my expectations.

All you need to change the blade is a 10 cent screwdriver (use a dime). The original EAB has become my go-to knife. It's just easy and compact. I often put it in the watch pocket of a pair of jeans.The liner lock action locks the blade securely and I am very confident that it will not close on me. My main concern has always been putting a finger in the area near the blade. The new EAB lite has a much more pronounced nub instead of the concave area of the original knife. Depending on what you're cutting you and the sharpness of the current blade you can also just hold the knife by the spine. That is usually enough of a grip to slice through most tape. The new EAB lite honestly feels about the same weight to me as the old one. It's included default blade is much heavier than the current lenox utility blade i'm using in the original though. I attached some photos of the EAB lite, the original EAB with 5 long years of wear from everyday use, and a SOG Key knife with a coin and a AA battery as a size reference.If you're using a utility knife for really heavy work like cutting carpet or anything that requires a lot of force I wouldn't suggest this knife. You'll want your full handle for that heavy duty stuff. I've never used it as a money clip. I use it too often to want to pull out my wad every time I cut something. If you want a replacement for a pocket knife that you can just replace the blade instead of sharpening look no further.

The blade has 2 ends so you always have a ready spare. The blade is also twice as thick as any blade of this type I have ever seen. I have never sharpened a razor blade before but you can bet I will sharpen this one many times. This looks like the standard utility knife blade but I do not think this was intended to be readily disposable.Long story short, The Gerber EAB Lite Exchange-A-Blade Clip Folding Utility Knife in Stainless Steel was the perfect tool for the job and I finished my project quickly.

The action of opening and closing is also tight and smooth. If right handed, the clip on the side tends to poke the palm of your hand when holding it tightly but it seems to be more comfortable in a left hand. It uses standard utility blades and they can be purchased easily. It has a small blade guard that extends about a third of the way up the blade to help protect your finger from being cut. NOW for the down side: To replace the blade requires a screwdriver or a dime to remove and replace the screw that secures the blade. It also has no place to store a replacement blade but I have never owned a lock back knife that did either. I have however been known to break a blade before and in that case, I'm not sure you could reverse a blade in this knife to continue working due to the way it is secured.All in all, it would be a very good knife to carry in a purse, tackle box, or tool box due to it's compact size and the fact that it fits so well in a watch pocket. Another plus is the ready availability of replacement blades.
