I've been thoroughly impressed with my Scout knife over the past few days. The extremely sharp blade has maintained its edge remarkably well despite frequent use. Its compact size is ideal, allowing for effortless rope cutting and food prep while camping, without feeling too bulky. The ergonomic handle provides a secure grip, and the knife's overall balance is exceptional. It's tough, reliable, and compact, with a convenient clip that keeps it readily accessible on the edge of my pocket.

The Scout does what it should. I wish it was made in America, but that’s uncommon these days. It didn’t seem terribly sharp but I was surprised testing it on various things. It opens easily and the ambidextrous stud is easy to use but solid. The metal clip holds the knife on my pocket edge solidly, no slippage, but easy to attach. Decent knife, all things considered.

I knew I loved this knife when I picked it up. The micarta grips feel premium in-hand. There isn’t a rough texture on the grips but they stick to your hand well. The open/close action is buttery smooth and the blade deploys easily with one hand. The blade is heavy and the it feels very sturdy. It is a great tool for the backcountry and minor field craft. It also sits very comfortably on the pocket. It’s pretty low profile for such a durable knife.

Absolutely love this knife. It is the perfect size for smaller pockets. The handle is very smooth and sturdy, you can definitely tell this is a high quality and well made knife. I can use it for a variety of tasks from opening a box to cutting a piece or string. I would also feel safe having this knife with me on a hike for protection. Love the brand and the model!

I received the Gerber Scout pocket knife free for my honest review. I was very excited to see this claim, my husband loves pocket knives and I knew he would really enjoy this. He was indeed very surprised. Once it arrived, he immediately grabbed it and started examining everything. He’s very happy with the performance and said it’s extremely sharp, a great size and shape and has a nice quick lock and release mechanism. The texture of the body has a great feel in his hand. He said the texture grips well and doesn’t feel slippery in his hand while using.

It's a really good knife for camping and everyday use. It's really solid, easy to open and close, but in a secured way. It's very sharp, so you need to be careful with it, but it is going to help you cut anything you want! It also has a glass breaker in case of emergency. It's easy to carry as it has a hole you can hang it and a pocket clip if that's the way you want to carry it. The handle has a nice texture so it's not slippery even if your hands are wet. I recommend it to everyone that wants a good knife for everyday use or for campings!

Great design and materials except for blade steel.
25 September 2024

I love this knife, it’s absolutely perfect except for one small thing. The blade steel. It has pretty poor edge retention and while easy to sharpen it never gets that hair popping sharp that I can get with other steels. I would have happily paid more to get a 14c27 blade. Very few companies make outdoor focused folders, meaning tough build and comfortable micarta handles. For $79 Real Steel makes a contoured micarta handled 3.8” 14c blade with a scandi grind. It’s a little big for some people do PLEASE PLEAEE gerber make a 2nd edition with upgraded steel, 14c would be great but maybe a even more premium version with something like Magnacut, or any of the S30-s45 steels, or Cruwear the best choice after magnacut is 3V. Please whatever you do heat treat to optional ... MoreI love this knife, it’s absolutely perfect except for one small thing. The blade steel. Please whatever you do heat treat to optional performance, and if it’s an outdoor knive give us a scandivex or full convex, at least on a premium version and please stop coating the blades. Having said all that this knife is still amazing for what it offers and how it’s built. I did put a secondary convex and knocked back the angle slightly and it’s not the steel is crap, it’s definitely usable.

You won't regret this buy; just go for it.

When you read other reviews on other websites, you'll hear a big fuss about the blade steel. Don't worry about it; this is a slick knife that gets the job done very well. It's not bulky, the clip is deep-carry, and the glass-breaker tip is unobtrusive-I barely even notice it's there. The micarta handle gets more grippy when it's wet or sweaty, making it very comfortable to hold in all conditions. I like this knife! You might like it, as well.

[Rewarded Review] Good but big
16 October 2024

The Gerber Scout is a reliable and sturdy pocket knife. It has a partially serrated blade that makes it good for cutting through various materials, and the high-carbon stainless steel ensures durability and sharpness. I like the textured grip, which provides a secure hold even in wet conditions. The integrated clip makes it easy to carry on hikes or camping trips. While it’s a great all-around knife for basic outdoor tasks, it’s not as compact as some might prefer for everyday carry.

[Rewarded Review] Great Everyday Carry Knife!
29 October 2024

Gerber makes great products and this Scout from Gerber is one of them. The overall knife has a very nice feel in the hand and also isn't bulky when stored in the pocket using the nicely built in clip. The knife is very ergonomic and the quick release button is very easy to use. The overall weight of the knife is lite due to the well designed handle and blade. The blade itself also stays sharp for quite some time and cuts really nice. For the price, it's a very nice knife!
