Great knife, razor sharp out of the the box and even after weeks of using it I have not needed to resharpen it. I was really looking at the Fallkniven F1 for a good woods knife but then the Strongarm caught my attention. I bought the fine edge, not because I only prefer fine edges like some other people, but, I have some serrated edged knives already and I enjoy a using good fine edge blade once in a while.I researched this knife extensively before purchasing and can tell you that there are a lot of negative reviews out there just because people for whatever reason don't like Gerber and say they never will. I for one don't have any preconceived biases against them and therefore own and use some of their knives, the Strongarm being one of them. The choice was ...Β MoreGreat knife, razor sharp out of the the box and even after weeks of using it I have not needed to resharpen it. Or, will I buy this knife and have it perform as well as any of theirs and be completely happy with money still in my pocket? This knife is so solid, I've taken down 3+ inch hedges with it and carved it up into firewood without even putting a scratch on it!Personally I don't care what knife you buy but I gave this knife only four stars because, alas, nothing is perfect. The sheath is well designed and able to be attached to your person and packs in multiple ways, but, the way it's supposed to attach to the belt is a little awkward. The loops are hard plastic and don't adjust and are not flexible at all. I worry that if for some reason if I fall backward or am kicked or hit there while wearing it in that position it could cause some back injury. Maybe the belt loops could be nylon with snaps, like the rest of the attachments?I'll leave that to the pros but the knife itself could get five stars.

Don't let the 420 hc scare you, this knife is as tough as you need it to be. I've done nothing but abuse this knife since the second I got it. Chopping, feathering, stump stabs, splitting, throwing, hammering, etc. and it isn't even scratched yet. The edge is sharp, I wouldn't shave with it without a time spent working a stone, but otherwise it's solid and hasn't changed at all since day 1. The Strongarm comes with the greatest, most versatile sheath ever. Horizontal, vertical, belt, molle, you name it, this can strap your knife to it.If you're in the market for a knife that won't ever quit, or leave you looking for something better to suit any task, this is your knife. Seriously, it's priced at half what I'd pay to own one. Best. Knife. Ever.

I collect knives. But they dont just lay around and get looked at. I own several Gerber LMF II infantry knives , which is probably the one I'd have strapped on if I was in the Rockies and isolated from humanity, its heavy , big , has serrated edge , can use as a hammer and has a sharpener. All that said this Gerber Strong Arm is a tool that can be used every day. Perfect weight , handle size , blade length, and no serrated edge so its good for regular things and a good skinner. The sheath actually locks the knife in without needing a tow truck to yank it out again. It has the Molle option which is great with all the young guys using that gear now.People at work think Im nuts with all the gear I have available at a moments notice. Multi tool , carabiner , flash ...Β MoreI collect knives. But they dont just lay around and get looked at. Great knife! Review it on the internet and that alone should speak for itself! I can tell you itβs sharp and holds an edge! Itβs had good weight and balance! I have quite a few really expensive knifes and for the price and what you get this is a no brainer! This knife if cared for properly should last a life time!
strong and sharp, good balance, price is reasonable value. Came fast as lightning
I did research and decided to buy this specific knife based on many positive reviews. knife feels very well made, sharp out of the box, it's snugly in sheath
Very sharp edged blade, thick and strong (420 HC Stainless Steel). The scabbard has multiple ways of holding and carrying--has nylon webbing for drop-leg carry and secondary retention plus a detachable belt hoops for horizontal belt carry. it is also MOLLE compatible. The blade length: 4.8β (12.2 cm). Grip is very well made and designed. I like it so much I might buy another but with the desert color in smooth straight blade configuration, but waiting for the price to come down a bit.
Very Durable an 100% USA MADE knife"It is Built like a Tank" Check the YouTube videos there is Many" Truly a knife you count on your Life" Holds a edge like 1095 steel but is Corrosion Resistant is definitely a Plus"
looks and feels like good quality. non magnetic so it shouldnt rust. its very sharp. others have complained the honing doesnt match on both sides of the point. when you use it and eventually have to sharpen it, you can take care of that. it doesnt prevent any usage as far as i can tell. i dont know if the rubberised handle will get sticky with age as all rubberised items get when old.for me, its a great buy.
the iowa law says you can cary anything under 5in in your pocket, im going to carry this on shingreat knife for 50 bucks, the blade came sharp but a bit chiped, not to be worryed cleaned up wth a grinder. great knife for price
