Awesome knife. My favorite EDC.

One of the best fixed blades out there. Tough as nails while taking a sharp edge. Does the perfect job. The handle is just right. The grip is just enough with texture as not to be too slippery when wet. The metal point butt is great for breaking windows in emergency situations. Also good for breaking up bones, wood, debris, etc.I like the idea of having the knife being able to wear the blade horizontal on a belt but I feel the knife is a bit big for that. I wear of my rig. Feels more natural as I can get to it faster.Overall, great knife. This is my second. Had the black one first but love this one, matches my other gear.Highly recommend.BTW, I also carry a Cold Steel but love this better and would rather support Gerber.

This is an excellent knife. The steel is exceptionally strong and the size is just right. The grip is impressive, especially in wet or freezing conditions. Full tang is a must. Price is unmatched. Warranty is unmatched. Cutting edge is good, but lacks a certain swiftness you’d find on a fjallkniven or a ka-bar. Overall though it’s the best bang for the buck and a worthy addition to any load out. Only note, I got and prefer the non serrated edge blade, which makes sharpening easier and I personally don’t see the need for a serrated edge - I have other tools to cut through a seat belt. The standout feature is the hand guard. The generous hand guard makes this a true “survival” knife, meaning it is robust enough for camping and backwoods needs plus it has a matte black ... MoreThis is an excellent knife. Finally the sheath is amazing, especially at this price point. Carry options are extremely versatile and the sheath carries upside down without any risk of losing this tool but still releases without hesitation when you need it. It fits great in fjallraven pants knife pocket once you figure out the correct configuration if you wear those (which are also excellent). The sheath is better than much higher end options. I’ve had friends compliment this tool, and they own much more expensive higher end options. Gerber finally got something right!

This is my second Gerber Strongarm. A quality Tool for the working man's budget. Has been my favorite knife for everyday carry here in commiefornia. Comes with an awesome rig that you can wear horizontally or vertically.Belt or molle. Balance and texture feels awesome in the hand. Non-slip . And Sharp as a razor. Love the pommel for breaking whatever you need to. This knife will get you out of just about any logical situation and I imagine some illogical ones. And you can't beat made in America not outsourced from China or Taiwan! I will have one for life and past one down to each of my kids.

Hard to destroy. Easy to sharpen.

Don't let the cheap steel fool you. This knife has been tested by the most abusive testers on youtube. There are knives thicker/heavier and far more expensive that can't take the abuse this can.My advice. Have one of these handy for emergencies. You can depend on it to be up to the task. The sheath seems complicated, but it's not. It's a very cool design that should be more common.

If you actually use this knife then you'll love it!

This knife snuck up on me. I saw overall good reviews and decided the price was right. It's an excellent knife if you use it. It looks kind of boring but when using it -- the knife works really well. It feels solid in the hand and the blade is sharp enough. If you just need a good hiking or camping fixed blade and don't want to spend a ton of $$$ then this is a safe bet. I prefer the black color but it's often out of stock.

It is ok.. Maybe not worth the money

First off. Out of the box the blade is not as sharp as one might expect. It is a little bit annoying I will have to do some work on the blade. I tested this blade vs a CRKT knife and the CRKT M21SFG cut paper better. The CRKT has been in use for a little over a year for light bush crafting. It still cut better than this blade did right out of the box.I got this for general bush crafting and I don't think it will hold up to batoning wood (which I do a lot of) well.Since I have a collection of knives and I just wanted to try this knife it will go back to the store. If you are wondering if you should buy this knife I would say hold off. Pay about $20-30 more for something sharp out of the box that you won't have to sharpen after every trip.I included a picture ... MoreFirst off. Look at the difference in the grind. The folder has had some heavy outdoor use and has yet to need sharpening.

Probably Cabela's Best Fixed Blade for the value.
1 June 2023

This is a durable steel blade, tang, and grip. Some parts of the grip may cause discomfort to parts of the hand with prolonged use at one time. You can soften those points up as you see fit. Nice sheath. Good striking with the tang on a ferro rod. Blade can be sharpened easily. Out of all the the knives they offer this one seems to be the best bang for the buck. It's a cutting, carving, whittling type blade, not for stabbing or thrusting. I have it as an addition to my LT Wright Scandi blade, because it's always good to have two dependable knives in case you lose or damage one while in the bush.

The good the bad and the ugly
9 December 2021

Well first off I love the knife works amazing for what I use it for. The full tang the thick spine and that handle are the highlights for me. No matter if it gets wet that handle will never leave your hands and the blade has great edge retention. The bad? The sheath could use some work, I honestly don't like the nylon but thats just me. Last but not least the ugly the reason I say 4 out of 5 is the condition which I got the knife... less than impressed. Its supposed to be a fine edge but there is about 2 inches of the edge that looks like a beaver chewed the bevel on the knife. Its super sharp still but the grinding looks rough and is. It looked like they were going to add serrations then stopped and passed it off as a plain edge knife.

This knife is a Sherman tank!
19 December 2022

Firat thing I did was struggle a little with the sheath. It has several configurations like cross carry, molle carry, hip carry and a few parts and snaps. I you tubed it to make sure I had it right. Once I got that down it was clear to see the sheath is awesome! Yes it is plastic but it is tough. Now the blade..... Love it! Full tang, thick, strong. This blade is capable of anything. Perfect for outdoors, bushcraft, self defense. All around tank of a blade. Love the coyote color too.

The 420 HC steel blade takes abuse cutting, chopping, prying and even hammering to split logs. The blade can be sharpened extremely sharp for small work like slicing for tinder. Full tang. The blade could be a little longer. The StrongArm is very light to carry, lighter than it looks. Rain, snow, a little ice even -30f my hand does not slip on the grip. The sheath in geneious. Almost endless ways to carry. Positve retention clicks in the StrongArm to secure it in sheath but the thumb ramps make drawing the knive easy. I use the MOLLE with click clip but it can be almost too short to get a solid click on a few MOLLE. You may have to trim a couple hair widths depending on your MOLLE. I will be buying more replacing other knives for the rig, pack, shop, ect. Made right ... MoreThe 420 HC steel blade takes abuse cutting, chopping, prying and even hammering to split logs.
