I was so excited to receive the new GHD duet styler, having always loved the brand GHD I could not wait to try this new styler on my long, thick, wavy hair. I firstly made sure I read through all the instructions provided in the box which was very easy to follow. My first impressions on the styler did not disappoint. Not sure this would get easier with time? I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of volume achieved at the roots even though you can’t get the plates so close because of the plate size. My hair had volume and movement which I’ve never been able to achieve with my hairdryer. The Shine Shot function is amazing. The results are instant, it only took a few minutes to go all over my hair and my hair felt softer, smoother and noticeably shiner. I am super excited to take this styler on holiday I’ve always hated the way my hair looks so frizzy and unruly. Knowing I only need to take one heat tool with me is a no brainier. I would definitely recommend the GHD duet hot air styler to my friends and family and can’t wait to try it on my daughters long, curly hair too!

My hair is long but a bit thin and damaged (fizzy) from dying it lighter colours. Normally my hair tends to be oily but has very dry ends and I always have to put oil on my ends. When I use other straighteners, often the hair looks dry at the ends. However, hands down, the GHD Duet 2 in 1 Hot Air Styler is a game changer. The product itself is not too big, like a wide hair straightener. My hair is long and it took me about 20 minutes + to do my hair. I think the only downside of this product is when you would like to dry your hair quicker, but, overall the results of using the products are great!

So I was skeptical whether the Duet Styler could offer the same results as the standard dryer/straightener combo. So how did i find it?The first thing you'll notice is that the product is big. I'm somebody with short/mid length hair who usually uses a GHD mini-styler so found the difference in size considerable. That said, it's well ergonomically designed so although it takes some getting used to if you are more familiar with a smaller styler - you do adapt. The results were brilliant, smooth and shiny and not once did I feel like the hair was being damaged which is always a concern when using heat on children's hair. Again the key is to go slow through the hair and you can take a few passes until the hair is dry.The GHD Duet Styler is a brilliant innovation and depending on your hair length could cut your styling time in half. For shorter styles I would say it is still a great product but is a bit fiddly as a daily styler. If GHD bring out a mini version I will be at the front of the queue to buy one!

When I first opened the box I thought that it looked quite bulky, I guess I was comparing it to regular pair of straighteners. However, I was very surprised by the weight of it, a lot lighter than a normal hairdryer so found it was easier to handle especially as I normally struggle drying or straightening at the back of my head. When on holiday I normally try to avoid getting my hair wet in the pool as I know how long it will take me to get my hair back to looking good enough for a going out in the evening so this is going to be a real game changer for me.I thought that the heat from it was not as hot as usual hairdryer and straighteners so it felt like it was a lot kinder to my hair.This product will definitely be replacing my hairdryer but I won’t be giving upon my straighteners just yet as I like to sometimes curl or wave my hair with my straighteners for a change and I haven’t quite worked out how to do that just yet with these, but they are certainly perfect if you only like a straight style.

Once you plug the styler in there are two settings, the first being the switch which you glide upwards to activate the dryer setting then downwards to both turn off and/ of use the shine setting and the second being the shine shot button which you hold down. The style will notify you once ready with a bleeping sound and will flash on both settings. Before I use the duet styler, I wash and apply my hair styling products then I towel dry my hair for best results. I usually struggle with both drying and styling my own hair due to having osteoarthritis which makes limitations with certain movements, but this styler is perfect for that. I don’t have to worry about correctly sectioning my hair I just roughly take sections from the back and work my way around to the front. The styler shapes nicely around my face for that blow dry look and completely smooths my hair. To finish I use the shine shot setting, this increases the plates heat and makes my hair look and feel glossy and healthy. When storing away you don’t have to wait for them to completely cool down you just place the guard on top of the plates. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this product anymore if I tried!
Wow, Wow Wow, I was so impressed the moment I opened this very well presented box and took a first look at the Duet Styler in White, it had quality written all over it. I was extremely excited to try it.I have short very curly dry hair and as soon as I saw the size of the plates I wondered if they were going to be too large for my type of hair, how wrong I had been.On awakening each morning my hair is usually back to its normal natural curls.My everyday routine is to blow dry my hair with my White Helios GHD Dryer and then use my GHDStraighteners to get the look I like which is Spiked on top of my hair.I thought the concept of the Duet Dryer was amazing due to not having to use a brush and a dryer at the same time.It took literally seconds to heat up and when it had reach the required temperature the Air Fusion Technology came into play, I found the noise it made very acceptable, quieter than the hairdryer. The Duet Dryer is on the heavier side but not as heavy as my dryer.I started in sections after towel drying my hair well, as advised in the leaflet and started at the top of my hair as I have the sides and the back shaped in. Section by Section starting at the root , I found the plates the same length as my hair ,I did each section twice and was amazed how quick it dried, After completing all my hair with air dryer , I then used the shine shot which was AMAZING !! the finish was beautiful and shiny .I fully expected the next morning for my hair to be back to its normal natural curls but was I wrong it actually stayed smooth all I had to do was use the straightener and the shine shot to spike it again.I now leave the Duet Styler out permanently on my Dressing Table as this dryer is now part of my regular routine each day. Such a time saver,I would definitely highly recommend this Duet Styler , my only negative comment would be that the plates could have been a little smaller but I did manage to have a good outcome with my hair.A further fantastic product added to the rest of my GHD collection.

I section my hair and use a paddle brush to grab each section, then use the styler right at the roots, hold for a couple of seconds, then glide down the length of the hair. I repeat a couple of times and the section will be dry, smooth and straight.The styler really does dry roots without any frizziness or fluffiness but still leaves some volume there.I use the Duet exactly the same way I'd use my GHD Platinum+styler, but without the hassle of drying my hair separately first.The Shine Shot mode is a very welcome feature to get a very polished look, but I don't really feel the need to use it on a daily basis. I haven't noticed any damage at all to the hair, and I'm pleased to say there are no steam burns when using the styler close to the hair roots.The Duet styler is very easy to use, I have some arthritis in my hands so I struggle trying to blow dry my hair with a round brush, and can never get a smooth finish. The duet is lightweight to use, and easier to manage. I did have some issues with the switch being a little stiff for the first few uses, but it eased up a little and now it's perfectly fine.The sound level is great, it's possible to hold a conversation at a normal level while using it, and quiet enough that it doesn't disturb others in the home.

The plates are wider than a normal GHD straightener, with vents in the middle to assist with drying and sleek hot plates down either side to assist with styling. It’s just a mindset switch but once you use the product a few times though, this becomes easier and you get into the knack of using it.Upon drying all my hair, I then activated the Shine Shot function to create the shine effect over my hair. You hear the fan slow down and then turn off, and you then hear the beep once the Shine Shot is activated ready to use. This was again just like using your regular GHD’s to straighten/style/finish your hair. My hair looked and felt amazing once I’d finished, and it did indeed add in the Shine effect it says.I would definitely recommend this product as it is easy to use, light in weight so it would be ideal for travelling, as you no longer need to carry multiple products (hairdryer and styling tool etc), and gives your hair a lovely shine plus you can use it as a regular styler on 2nd day hair. The switch is on the top of the styler and you slide it up - I found it a bit stiff to move but I imagine that is to stop you accidently turning it on/off.Despite knowing that this would dry my hair, I was still surprised when the air/fan started! It's quieter than my hair dryer but it feels strange to leave the air/fan on whilst I was adjusting her hair - if I was using a hair dryer, I would have turned it off in between. I suppose there is nothing stopping me doing that with the duet styler, it only takes a few seconds to heat up again.We made sure her hair was thoroughly towel dried, as per the instructions, and used heat protectant. The size of the styler in my hand seemed strange at first but as the motion is the same as I would use with my straighteners, I got used to it quickly. I had watched some online tutorials and knew to hold to the root for around 3 seconds, before moving through the hair, and then to repeat around 3 times - a slow steady motion from root to tip, just like you would with any other hair straightener. I was scared to hold it too close to the root in case it was too hot but found that I was leaving lines on her hair (see picture) - I thinned down the sections I was using and that seemed to stop it happening. I'm pretty confident that I'll stop doing that as I get used to it.As each section of hair goes through the styler, the hair is hot to touch - especially if you go over the section a couple of times. If you are used to hair straighteners, this won't surprise you. There is a groove on the top of the styler that is to be used as a guide to stop you touching the top of the styler which gets pretty hot.After using the hot air to dry the hair, I then switched the styler to straightener mode (GHD called it the Shine Shot) - this is done by holding down the button next to the on/off slide for 4 seconds. You can hear the hot air stop and then within about 30 seconds, the styler can be used as a normal hair straightener to finish off the style.I was very, very impressed by this styler! Although I used the straightener/shine shot to finish off, the hair honestly didn't even need it. Apart from a couple of very small sections that I went over, her hair was completely dry and looked like I had taken the time to blow dry with a round brush. As she is a teenager who takes no care of her hair, she does have breakage and split ends but as you can see from the photos, the result was still great - it gave a really shiny and professional looking finish.In total, from starting to use the styler until her hair was completely dry, we were just under 30 minutes - this is a bit longer than I would usually take to dry/straighten her hair but I'm sure that time will come down as I get more familiar with using the styler.Later that night, I used it on my own hair and was again very impressed - it gave me much more natural looking volume in my hair than I usually have (I'm assuming it's giving a small lift when holding at the roots for 3 seconds). The only part I struggled with was the bottom layer of my hair at the back - just because it's shorter (my hair is just past shoulder length). If you have shorter hair, I don't think you would get much use out of this product. If you have lots of hair and hate spending ages styling it, then I would definitely recommend the duet hot air styler!!
