I brought the GHD Gold 5 weeks ago and they already have a fault. Red light flashing and a beeping noise. Apparently this means a thermostat fault. The most unfortunate part of this is that GHD are experiencing some problems with their warranty process and I have no idea when I will get a response from them with an answer as to when my straighteners will be repaired.Poor show from GHD really.These cost a lot of money and the be left with no straighteners or answers after only 5 weeks is very disappointing!!When they were working they were great.Customer service is a massive let down.

What a disappointment from product to service. The straighteners barely heated up, there was no button to adjust heat. So in that basis they were useless. Returned them by using methods suggested by GHD and even though I could track when they were received back by GHD it was a further 3 weeks before I got my refund. Have since bought some Remington straighteners for a fraction of the price and they have done an exceptional job. Really unimpressed given GHD have been going for years, will definitely not be recommending to anyone complete waste of money.

My first GHD was a gold limited addition styler, which lasted a decade. Upgraded to the platinum, which began giving issues after 2years. Never straightened the hair quite as well as my first GHD and had to have the internal board replaced last year. It stopped working again so decided to repurchase the gold styler. It is far superior to the platinum in my opinion - styles hold for much longer and heats up in 20secs. Would definitely recommend!

This is the 4th pair of he GHD Gold I have had to buy. They seem to last about 2 years and 3 months, so just out of warranty and then break. However, unlike the original GHDs they really don't repair well. I still have the original GHDs i bought about 18 years ago and they still work but the plates are all scored so this is why I keep getting new ones. These straighteners do a great job on my hair but honestly I wish I had the nerve to try a different brand. The problems seemed to have occurred when L'Oréal started making the straighteners. I honestly don't know if I would recommend the GHD straighteners now, whereas in years past I wouldn't have hesitated to recommend them
It took over 1 month from buying straighteners to actually receiving them and lots of time spent contacting customer services who were not very helpful.The GHD straighteners I had finally packed in, so I treated myself to a new pair in the Black Friday sale on the GHD website. The straighteners that arrived had clearly been used, they were marked and scratched so I contacted GHD with photos. I understand winter is a busy retail time, however they took a lot longer than I expected to reply and I felt that they didn't understand the issue. I bought Ghd Gold Hair Straightener a few weeks ago. I had heard a lot of good words about GHD indeed. Couldn't say it is not true. My straightener is relatively good, but every good thing has its own negative sides. I thought Gold would be the perfect size of hair straightener for me, but it turns out to be smaller than I thought. I did'nt wanted to buy GHD max because it seemed to me that it would be bigger than the normal size of hair straighteners. To conclude my review, the item is good, but small for my hair. It takes a lot of time to straighten my hair because of the small plates, even though I have thin hair. Thank you for asking me for a review.
I was skeptical at first as I'd always had a hair straightener that went up to 200°c. After doing a tun of research, it said that 185°c was perfectly adequate and they were absolutely correct. The GHD gold was a treat to myself and I'm glad I got them! They beep when they are ready and they get hot so quick so no waiting around. My hair feels so much better nowafter I have straightened it. It feels softer and looks great (even if I say so myself). So anyone like me who's reading these reviews and umming and arrring, go for it! I'm hopeful they'll last me a long time!
Bought to replace my original gold straightener that had broken after 7 yearsI have had 2 previous GHD straightenersThis product is not as good as the original it does the job but I preferred my old ones. Also did not come with casejust a cover that slides over heated endI felt not value for money.Also there was a hairbrush as free gift (stated with £25) I would not pay that for it !! no option to decline and have a discount

I had the gold for about 3 years but because this company doesn’t use ceramic plates, they cheap out using aluminum plates with a ceramic coating, the coating on my last one wore off making it extremely damaging to my hair. So I did some research and found out that coating aluminum plates with ceramic is the cheap way out and at this price I wasn’t expecting to read that. A good quality straightener will have full ceramic plates so even tho I just ordered this one and even though it has mainly great reviews, I will be canceling my order because I don’t believe the company is fairly pricing their actually cheaply made products.
