This hot brush was very easy to use. I love how it easily curls my hair, as well as building the volume. Especially at my roots. I finally have volume! It also has a long swivel cord of 2.7m, which, is so convenient, and prevents the wire tangling and is good to use in rooms or hotels where the plug socket might be far from a mirror. Also what is good is it has an automatic sleep mode that switches off if it has not been used for 30 minutes.I am so glad I have this now as I finally have volume in my hair and it does not take long to style.

Tip one: ensure the strand you’re using on the brush is thoroughly combed through otherwise it can tangle on the brush with movement. Tip two: if you have long (past shoulder) length hair my advice is not to wrap the hair more than once over the brush, but use the twisting action of the brush whist holding the cold tip to get your wave or curl. Tip three: small sections work better for curls, and using just the ends of larger sections work well for a salon styled flicked out look. Tip four: allow the hair to curl up the handle as you’re rotating it, helps cool and set the hair. Perfect to create voluminous waves and curls without effort. Although the unit is GHD hot, the bristles are cooler so you can move this around carefully with less issues. I use GHD Curl Hold Spray as my heat protectant which gives a bouncy but touchable hold. Highly recommended if you want to quickly and add fuss-free curls or volume, simple but effective and great for quick touch-ups!

This lead me to have a blowout look, and it lasted all day.I found the brush glided through my hair without it getting caught up.The hairstyle didn’t take very long either, but a suggestion to help it stay in longer would be using rollers whilst doing the rest of your hair.

The button illuminates when pressed and plays an ‘on’ tone. Once the product has reached the optimum temperature, the brush again plays another tone to alert the user it is ready to use.Using the brush: In my opinion, the brush takes a little practice to get used to holding and using the brush. On the first few uses; I would occasionally press the on/off button accidently, so be conscious of this when using the brush – however, the brush will only turn off if you press and hold the button (so it shouldn’t matter too much if you do press it briefly). Also, the brush does get hot so do be mindful of your fingers and avoid touching the comb area when the device is on!As with any heated hair tool, I would recommend using heat protection with the brush. I have found that the brush works well on my hair – my hair type is medium thick and texture is pretty coarse (it is naturally curly but I always straighten and curl it!).Do make sure your hair is free from any product such as hairspray, mousse etc as I have the found the brush works better if you are able to freely run it through your hair – otherwise it can snag the hair slightly.I used the brush to achieve a wavy look to my hair, after washing and blow-drying. The waves were easy to achieve, and they set nicely. I also found the brush worked really well to create waves on day 2 after washing (slightly dirty hair!). I liked using the brush on my fringe/front piece, allowing me to achieve the flicked/ 70’s look! I have found the waves set well and last all day.I sectioned off my hair, then took smaller sections and wrapped it around the brush and continued to turn/twirl the brush to pull in through my hair. I then brushed through the waves/ curls. The brush has a 360 cord making it easy to turn and twist the brush with your hair and to create curls and waves. Conclusion: All in all, a good styling tool, very easy and quick to use on my hair type (medium thickness and slightly coarse) and the waves lasted all day!

Great for giving your life a little lift…
23 January 2023

I’ve been using the GHD Rise Hot Brush for a couple of weeks now and I’m getting the hang of it. I have naturally curly/wavy unruly hair that I’ve straightened for years and it can end up leaving my hair quite flat at the roots. The hot rise brush really lifts and gives it volume. I have used it to style loose curls and also to give more of a flick to the sides adding all over volume. There is a great video on this website to show you how to do it. It’s also great for the in between wash days to give my hair a lift. The brush heats up really quickly, it’s very lightweight and the swivel cord makes it easier to move in different directions in your hair. I’ve also bought a heatproof glove because I’ve burnt my finger on the barrel a couple of times while wrapping my hair around it but that’s probably just me being clumsy.

Great product

I decided to give the GHD Rise Hot Brush a try at home after a long hair washing session. I tend to have thick hair already but after a few sessions of straightening it I felt it was losing some of the volume it used to have. The brush is a beautifully simple design true to the style of all GHD products. It has a flashing light as well as sound to show you when it is heating up where the light stops flashing once the full temperature is reached. It literally takes seconds to heat up which is great! One of my favourite features is the built-in safety stand which allows you to rest it down on a flat surface (heat-proof surface!).Because of the wide spaced bristles, the brush is easy enough to clean by pulling the hairs out and wiping down with a wet cloth.I did ... MoreI decided to give the GHD Rise Hot Brush a try at home after a long hair washing session. Even at full thickness the brush glided through my hair easily without becoming entangled.

Kinder to your hair, lovely loose waves
15 January 2023

I have waited a few weeks to review this hot brush, as I wanted to use it several times to give an honest review. Firstly, this is a lovely hot brush to use. It feels lightweight, and has a handy swivel on the cable, great for us left handed people. Sadly no hanging hook, but a good stand on the brush part that allows the product to cool down after use. It does recommend in the instructions to use a heat resistant pad when allowing to cool, but this is not included. And also a little disappointing that there is no carry pouch. Now, onto the brush itself. I have very long, very thick, straight, colour treated hair. I found to do loose curls, I had leave the brush curled in my hair for around 30 seconds. This gave a very loose wave. I was very surprised to see that the wave stayed in when I woke up the next morning and all I needed to do was give my hair a quick refresh with a few new curls/waves and my hair was good to go again for the next day. I also loved using this brush to straighten my fringe, as I always find using straighteners leaves it too flat. This was perfect, giving just the right about of bounce, without turning it under too much. I also tried ‘Charlie’s Angels’ flicks, but it only gave my hair a soft flick. However, I do think this is due to the thickness of my hair, and can see that on finer hair this would give a great flick. It is great to use on my straight hair, to give a little lift at the roots too There is no ability to change the heat temperature from the 185 degree setting. At first I was concerned that this wouldn’t be enough for my hair, but found that this brush forced me to be kinder to my hair, and use less heat, and that the results were similar to hotter products. In summary, I like this brush to give very loose waves, giving lift at the roots when I wear my hair straight, and also for finishing my fringe and bangs. It is kinder to my hair.

I have wavy mid length hair but much prefer a more defined soft curl with added volume and this product is perfect for that. I did struggle with this as first and couldn’t get to grips with it but after a few tries I got used to it.I use it by sectioning my hair and twisting it around the brush, as I would with a wand, and the brush just glides through. You have to twist the brush to almost let the hair roll through it in the direction of the curl. There are good videos on the ghd Instagram that helped me! I also use this if I have my hair tied up to style my bangs as it gives them a lot of volume and they lie so nicely around my face.Alternatively, you can use this by wrapping the hair around the barrel and holding for a few seconds (as you would with a wand) and releasing it. You could also pin this if your hair doesn’t hold well. The tip of the brush doesn’t get hot so it does make it a lot easier to hold the brush in place, but the bristles do so make sure you are holding the end to keep it in place or get a heatproof glove. The 360 swivel cord also helps you to do your own hair with ease and reach both sides comfortably.I would recommend you make sure that your hair is freshly washed or free from any product such as texturising spray, hairspray or mousse because I had hair spray on my hair the day before and when I used this the next day, my hair wasn’t gliding through the brush easily and kept snagging. This is definitely something to bear in mind if you are refreshing day 2 hair.I will keep using this product and telling all my friends!

Rise for the Rise!
24 January 2023

A really great addition to anyones daily hair routine! The ghd rise hot brush was really easy for me to use, and i would absolutely say it gives my hair lots more volume. The hot brush is very lightweight which makes it very comfortable when using, the cord is really long which is great and swivels on the handle for easy styling. It's a shame the on button hasn't been placed at the bottom of the handle as i kept pressing it while styling my hair, although it doesn't turn the brush off by doing this, (it makes a tune when turning on or off) I still felt my self checking it every time i pressed it. I was a little worried that the bristles would snag on my hair, however for me this was not the case. I was a little worried that the bristles would snag on my hair, however for me this was not the case. With a good brush through prior to using the hot brush it glided smoothly through my hair both in a straight style and a wave i think it worked much better when my hair was freshly washed and rough dried with out previous hair spray on! I would definitely say the rise lived up to the name and i was really impressed with how much volume it gave my hair in a sleek straight bob. Being one to back comb daily this gave me enough root lift for me to simply spray and leave in place, which lasted really well on my fine limp hair for the day. I found it very easy to add a wave to my hair and even quite a tight curl which i was surprised, the barrel is the perfect size for it! My favourite thing though has to be how much the brush lifts my fringe! I love how much volume it gives me. It is really quick to use, the brush heats up very fast and the styling takes minutes to change your whole look. My only criticism is that i found the brush very hot, and burnt myself a few times. On the end of the styler i felt the rubber part could of gone slightly further on to the barrel and i wouldn't of caught myself so much. I think maybe a protective glove might help or more practice im sure i will get use to the design and how to use it with comfort. Overall i'm really impressed with the hot brush and would recommend to anyone with hair like mine medium short, fine but lots of it! Needing a bit of extra volume!
