This is my husband’s ultimate dream! Got this for christmas gift... He absolutely love it! He jams every days off from work... This is his 2nd Gibson SJ 200! But the Rosewood definitely worth the price!!!! Loved to hear the acoustic sound, it is so clear! Different from all other brands! Thank you AMS! If it’s not with your payment plan, i would not afford to buy him this SJ Rosewood Acoustic Guitar!!!!

First, I can't thank the crew at Guitar Center Tucson enough for helping me get this SJ directly from Gibson. Opening the case for the first time...love at first sight. Right out of the case, once tuned, proved I made the right choice. The sound from this rosewood guitar was so completely different from the walnut model Gibson I traded in. So much more volume and tone from the lower register. And definitely, the most beautiful acoustic guitar I have ever owned. And, while playing guitar for 59 years, I have had a bunch. Thanks GC!

I use this guitar for many styles of play. I enjoy fingerstyle blues, electric blues and acoustic rhythm parts. Has a very resonant sound.
I purchased an open box J200 after talking with Derek (Musicians Friend) and receiving pictures of the blemishes. I have trouble finding them. I also read a review posted 7/26/16 about another open box purchase and it helped me pull the trigger. I can't believe I now own such a wonderful guitar. The looks are absolutely awesome and besides being very playable, it sounds even better. The Natural finish with the flamed curly maple looks much better in person than in pictures. I jam weekly with a group of 10 and we are all mic'd and plugged in. I found in order to blend in, I had to unplug. I've worked with the electronics system at home and they really sounds good too. I couldn't have gotten luckier than purchasing the open box guitar, but I won't be doing it again ... MoreI purchased an open box J200 after talking with Derek (Musicians Friend) and receiving pictures of the blemishes. While description says J-200, my 2020 came in with sticker inside guitar stating SJ-200 so for those of you wondering what the difference is, there is none. Even if tag said J-200, there is no difference other than the model number. This guitar is absolutely wonderful. I got the Vintage Sunburst. The neck on mine came like a very slightly larger slim taper, not as big as the 50/60 ES-339 but just a tad more than a slim taper. But each neck is a bit different due to each one being hand finished.Sound is very full, very even across the strings. Playing single notes on upper neck has a very resonant sound that fills the air and rings out acoustically. Works great both strumming and finger picking and I found all picked strings during hand picking to come out with the ... MoreWhile description says J-200, my 2020 came in with sticker inside guitar stating SJ-200 so for those of you wondering what the difference is, there is none. Beautiful tone, beautiful guitar, truly the "King of the flatops".
geat story , great ending...i purchased from michael mattice a natural sj200 standard. love the look and nice play. about a month after i bought it it started playing funning and did not sound as it should. i took the guitar to my luthier thinking it might need an adjustment. luthier said i can make it better but cannot make it perfect. wah, i called G C Michael mattice explaining. he said let me see what i can do. 2 days later i received a email fro gibson in tennessee. i shipped the guitar with my luthier report asking the to fix the guitar prop or replace. it took 3 months but gibson sent me a new replacement. thanjks gibson..loving the guitar. i have bought many guitars from G C....thanks G C and Gibson for doing the right thing.
This is my first new Gibson acoustic, I have 4 Gibson electrics and 5 Taylor acoustics and after 40 years of playing I can tell you this is a special guitar. The depth and balance of this guitar make it an utter joy to play. The radius on the neck is just a little wider and it sounds amazing on open chords. It sounds like velvet sitting on the couch, and it rocks the house through my Bose L1 sound system for solo gigs. It's gorgeous to look at, the grain and quilting are world class. The Gibson SJ 200 Snakebite will be a major player for me as long as I'm playing and until they take it out of my cold, dead fingers
This is not what I would expect from Gibson, but, I see differently now. There is no customer support from Gibson. NONE. I see the defect in my guitar in almost all other Gibsons I look at now. Because of the Bridge problems, I have tuning issues. It does not play evenly up the neck. It appears lots of people knew this, but, I was never told, lest to down talk a Legend Guitar like a Gibson. ( I'm talking about the Montana Acoustics). Look at the pictures of these guitars closely around the bridge area, you'll see the bridge pins all at different angles. It comes with a very cheap case.
I'd been in the market for a new acoustic for a while but never really knew which one to go for. Luckily, PMT in Birmingham has a fantastic range of acoustics and their super helpful staff were extremely patient with me as I tried about a dozen different models, including various Taylors and Martins. For some reason, I had always thought that Taylor and Martin guitars would be the cream of the crop when it came to acoustics and, as such, had never considered Gibsons even though I own several Gibson electrics. However, the second I started playing the Gibson SJ200, it was obvious that this was the one. A really comfortable neck, a gloriously balanced sound that you can 'feel' wash through you when you play, great responsiveness to the attack of your pick... Whilst it might be a strange thing to say, whilst it does have a great pickup in it, it feels more like a traditional acoustic guitar than any of the others that I played. Whatever your style - fingerpicking through to power chord rock - this one does it all.Granted, it ain't cheap. However, if you're only ever going to buy one acoustic to keep forever, I would heartily recommend trying a Gibson Montana SJ200. If it's good enough for the likes of Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Pete Townsend, then it's good enough for me!
