Much of the Hummingbirdβs appeal lies in its versatility. No matter how you attack this flat-top, it pumps out rich, deep tones, and is equally at home strumming first-position chords as it is taking the spotlight for picking lead lines. This versatility has made it the choice of musical legends across genres. Its spacious mahogany body and sweet, select Sitka spruce top are more than capable of nailing down the rhythm in the hands of a rock and roll sideman or accompanying the most nuanced performance under the fingers of todayβs alternative singer-songwriter. The Hummingbird's mahogany neck has a comfortable, Rounded profile and is adorned with classic mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. It is fitted to the body with a compound dovetail neck joint for outstanding resonance and sustain. This 'bird has a TUSQ nut, saddle, and bridge pins. The low-friction TUSQ nut, along with the Grover Rotomatic tuners, ensures solid tuning stability, so you can spend more time playing and less time tuning. The Hummingbird Standard also sports the iconic Hummingbird graphics on the pickguard, and is equipped with L.R. Baggs VTC electronics, so it's ready to plug in on stage or in the studio, from the moment you take it out of the included hardshell case.

Purchased new from stock at local Guitar Center. This is one of the classic acoustic guitars of all time but there is more. I play it unamped a lot but I also have a Rivera Amplification Sedona Lite which is an electric/acoustic amp, arguably one of the best. The Hummingbird sounds fabulous thru the acoustic channel on this amps.

It's one of many guitars. It's my only mahogany guitar. It is warm and crisp with a harmonically rich sound. It has great dynamic response and opens up beautifully with heavier strumming and picking. The guitar is fairly light, well balanced with a nice sustaining quality and clean articulate fretting feel.

The more you play her, the better she plays, sounds, feels! It's like she's a living entity! It's meant to be played!!!It's ALOT of money, I know, but don't be afraid to take her out of the case and jam! That's what she's made to do!

This is a beautiful guitar. Plays so smooth and the sound is second to none. Easy to play and great set up out of the box.
I fell in love with the looks; quickly learned to appreciate the beautiful tone of the mahogany body. I know everyone wants a built in pickup, but I'm an acoustic purest and would have left that off, had that been an option. The craftsmanship is beautiful and it just plain plays great.
I'm a bit better than a novice but I like nice things. This guitar is not only beautiful so I want to play it more often, it also sounds amazing!! I hesitated a little on spending this much but I'm so happy I did, No regrets!
